fix: read ModelOpt MIXED_PRECISION exports targets-only so nvidia/GLM-5.3-NVFP4 uses its real config - #615
nvidia/GLM-5.3-NVFP4 (revision e3b8f9f2fad29727dfa95e766c5cac18ea1414bf) is a ModelOpt MIXED_PRECISION export: the dense MLPs of layers 0 to 2 are FP8, the routed experts of layers 3 to 77 are NVFP4 (group size 16), the KV cache is FP8, and the attention projections and the shared experts stay BF16. The export marks the BF16 modules only by their absence from quantized_layers and config_groups.*.targets; its one exclusion glob (model.layers.78*) covers the MTP layer. The SDK resolver read exclusion globs only, so the real file priced the DSA attention projections and the shared experts with the global GEMM mode (fp8_static, inferred from the FP8 dense lane), no DSA module table carries such rows, and the model returned no results on any backend. The bundle therefore still carried the GLM-5.2-NVFP4 files (pure NVFP4 with 156 exclusion globs), which model the three FP8 dense layers as BF16.
This PR makes the DSA family (DeepseekV32ForCausalLM, GlmMoeDsaForCausalLM) read a MIXED_PRECISION export targets-only: a module is quantized only if a listed target covers it, and the exclusion globs stay in force on top (union for the attention groups, glob wins for the dense layers, either for the shared experts). New helpers in sdk/models/helpers.py collect the listed module paths (class-name, regex and glob entries are dropped; lm_head and other root modules are kept) and answer coverage questions; sdk/models/deepseek_v32.py consults them for the attention groups, the shared experts and the SGLang dense-prefix groups. Other model families keep the glob reading. The DSA configs now take their head dimension from qk_nope_head_dim instead of the top-level head_dim (64 in the export, a stray value). Only the backend activation-memory estimate reads that value (base_backend.py:2460); the op graph takes the attention geometry from extra_params, so no latency changes. Bundles whose parsed head dimension moves: deepseek-ai/DeepSeek-V3.2 and nvidia/DeepSeek-V3.2-NVFP4 from the hidden_size // heads fallback 56 to 128; zai-org/GLM-5, zai-org/GLM-5-FP8, nvidia/GLM-5-NVFP4, zai-org/GLM-5.1 and zai-org/GLM-5.1-FP8 from a declared 64 (their rope dimension) to 192; nvidia/GLM-5.1-NVFP4 from 96 to 192. The GLM-5.2 and GLM-5.3 families stay at 192. Measured effect on the prefill activation estimate at batch 1, 32,768 input tokens, b200_sxm tp8/ep8: DeepSeek-V3.2-NVFP4 6.1 to 14.0 GB (total 64.5 to 72.4 GB, vLLM and TRT-LLM), GLM-5 5.5 to 12.9 GB (SGLang) and 3.5 to 10.5 GB (TRT-LLM), GLM-5.1-NVFP4 5.25 to 10.5 GB; decode points unchanged. A borderline long-prompt configuration of those models can move from fits to does-not-fit in a sweep. The bundled nvidia--GLM-5.3-NVFP4 configuration and hf_quant_config are replaced by unmodified copies of the pinned revision, with the attribution entry in THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md.
Consumers: every caller that predicts nvidia/GLM-5.3-NVFP4 (CLI, Sweeper, Planner) now gets the checkpoint's real recipe: attention and shared experts BF16, routed experts NVFP4, dense layers 0 to 2 FP8, KV cache FP8. The model's resolved global GEMM mode, visible in CLI output, changes from nvfp4 (the GLM-5.2 copy) to fp8_static (inferred from the FP8 dense lane); the DSA attention projections and the shared experts are excluded from it. An export that lists its attention projections keeps them quantized. An expert-only requant of a natively FP8 checkpoint (a quant_method: fp8 base header in config.json next to a mixed hf_quant_config.json that lists only the experts, the shape of the DeepSeek-V4 NVFP4 bundles) keeps the glob reading, because its base header already names the non-expert lane.
Merge order: this PR depends on the collector PR #614 being merged first. With the refreshed bundle and today's collector, the SGLang MLA module collector at its pinned SGLang 0.5.14 would load this model through W4AFp8Config and label block-FP8 attention timings bfloat16; the collector PR makes that case fail loudly instead.
Known limitations, deliberate and tracked in Linear AISIM-2179: the attention-group and shared-expert flags are model-wide (no known ModelOpt export mixes precision per layer inside those modules); a listed ancestor path such as model.layers.0 is honoured by the dense-layer reading but not by the attention and shared-expert readings (no known export lists layer-level targets).
Review map
Risk level: medium
Start with: python/aisimulate/src/aisimulate_core/sdk/models/helpers.py (mixed_precision_quantized_paths, mixed_precision_covers, mixed_precision_attention_exclusions, mixed_precision_shared_experts_quantized), then python/aisimulate/src/aisimulate_core/sdk/models/deepseek_v32.py (create(), _dense_mlp_groups, _shared_experts_excluded_from_quant), then the DSA branch of python/aisimulate/src/aisimulate_core/sdk/utils.py.
Public or serialized contract changed: no. The resolved modes of one bundled model change (the fix itself); no schema, CLI or config field changes.
Compatibility or rollback concern: predictions of nvidia/GLM-5.3-NVFP4 on SGLang move on the systems where it is answerable (the dense layers are now FP8); DeepSeek-V3.2, GLM-5 and GLM-5.1 prefill memory estimates grow at long prompts (numbers above). Revert restores the GLM-5.2 copy and the old readings. Merge after the collector PR (see above).

Negative or boundary cases: class-name targets (Linear) keep the glob reading; a listed self_attn norm covers no projection; packed gate_up_proj versus unpacked shards, shards disagreeing raise; a glob still forces BF16 on a listed dense layer; an explicit per-request GEMM mode still receives the checkpoint's attention and shared-expert exclusions.
Expected-value derivation: 87 listed targets = 12 FP8 dense projections (3 layers × 4 names) + 75 NVFP4 expert groups (layers 3 to 77); head dimension 192 = qk_nope_head_dim of GLM-5 and 128 of DeepSeek-V3.2.
Before/after output: Prediction Regression Gate tier-1 collector run on the DSA bundles (14 models) for b200_sxm × {sglang 0.5.14, vllm 0.24.0, trtllm 1.3.0rc20} and h200_sxm × sglang 0.5.14, base cd6efc5e versus 16ce937e (the branch before main was merged in; the merge brings the refreshed zai-org GLM-5.3 bundles of fix: refresh bundled zai-org GLM-5.3 configs to the published checkpoints #563, which keep the GLM-5.2 geometry and are not mixed exports, so none of the readings added here applies to them): 4,158 rows compared, REGRESSION 0, DRIFT 33 (every one a nvidia/GLM-5.3-NVFP4 row on b200_sxm/sglang/0.5.14, default and nvfp4 variants, tp4/ep4 and tp8/ep8: the FP8 dense layers, about 0.2 percent), no STATUS_CHANGE, GAIN or ROWS_* entries; DeepSeek-V3.2, GLM-5, GLM-5.1 and GLM-5.2 rows unchanged, H200 unchanged. The same run with Tasks 1 to 3 only (bundle still the GLM-5.2 copy) showed no differences, so the head-dimension rule moves no gate row.
Modeling or data provenance
Bundled files: unmodified copies of config.json (sha256 b0b6b9ab922a82e3688bc39a4117bc443e106fcf88969ef48b3627778f4bdf7b) and hf_quant_config.json (sha256 13799d4fed353c20dde2264fbdd7f68a780b514782f8d80bba96ac5e44aa9bba) from nvidia/GLM-5.3-NVFP4@e3b8f9f2fad29727dfa95e766c5cac18ea1414bf; attribution in THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md (root and packaged copy identical): both files, the upstream URL and revision, the owners (export published by NVIDIA; the original model Copyright (c) 2026 Z.AI, as the model card states that NVIDIA does not own the model), the unmodified status, the license statement and the repository's LICENSE (the GLM-5.3 License) reproduced in full. No measured data is added or changed.
Question for the maintainers (attribution gate in AGENTS.md): the model card says use of the export is governed by the NVIDIA Open Model Agreement, whose redistribution terms ask for a copy of the License to accompany the Work. This entry links the agreement, as the upstream repository itself does (it ships no copy) and as the other bundled nvidia exports do (they carry no notice at all). If a copy of the agreement must ship in THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md, say so and we add it; the same answer then applies to the other nvidia bundles.
…port
A ModelOpt MIXED_PRECISION export lists the modules it quantizes in `quantized_layers` and in the `targets` of `config_groups`. It marks an unquantized module only by leaving it out. The SDK resolver reads exclusion globs only, so it cannot see that omission.
Add four pure helpers that read the positive lists. One collects the lower-cased module paths that the export declares quantized. One tells whether a module path, or one of its dotted parents, is listed. One returns the attention projection groups that no listed path covers. One tells whether a shared expert is listed. Nothing calls them yet. The DSA model family will use them in a later change.

…e MIXED_PRECISION helpers
The first version of the MIXED_PRECISION target helpers dropped every entry without a dot. A root module such as `lm_head`, which real exports list as quantized, was lost. The helpers also read any `self_attn` child without a projection name, such as `q_a_layernorm`, as the whole attention block.
`mixed_precision_quantized_paths` now keeps every string entry except a class name (starts with an upper-case letter), a regex target (starts with `re:`) and a glob (contains `*`). It still returns `None` unless a kept entry contains a dot. It reads the `quantized_layers` keys explicitly and ignores entries that are not strings.
`mixed_precision_attention_exclusions` takes the part of a listed path after `self_attn`. An empty part is the whole block and covers every group. Otherwise the path covers a group when the part equals a projection name of the group or is a dotted ancestor of one, so `indexer` covers the indexer group. A child such as `q_a_layernorm` or `indexer.k_norm` covers nothing.
The tests now fail under plain prefix matching, a missing lower-casing step, an ignored `config_groups` target, an ignored language `quantized_layers` source and kept class names. Before, all five of these changes passed. The tests also pin each new rule.

A ModelOpt MIXED_PRECISION export records what it quantizes in its positive target lists. A module that the lists leave out is unquantized. The DSA family read only the exclusion globs, so it priced such a module at the global quantization mode.
The family now reads the lists with the helpers from the previous commits. An attention group that no listed `self_attn` path covers is excluded. A shared expert that is not listed runs in BF16. A dense MLP projection that no listed path covers runs in BF16. The gate and up shards of a fused projection must still agree, and the existing error is raised when they do not.
The exclusion globs stay in force on top of the lists. The attention exclusions are the union of both readings. A glob match still wins for a dense projection. A shared expert is excluded when either reading excludes it. An export without a usable list is read as before. None of the bundled DSA checkpoints is a MIXED_PRECISION export, so their results do not change.
The new tests build GLM-5.2 through `get_model` with a MIXED_PRECISION export. They fail when the lists replace the globs, when the lists win over a glob, and when `create()` stops passing the lists to the dense groups.

The generic parser reads the head dimension from the top-level `head_dim`, then from `attention_head_dim`, then from `hidden_size` divided by the head count. None of these is a reliable source for a DSA model. A DSA config can carry a `head_dim` that is not the attention width, such as 64 in `zai-org/GLM-5`. `nvidia/DeepSeek-V3.2-NVFP4` declares none, so the parser fell back to 56.
For `DeepseekV32ForCausalLM` and `GlmMoeDsaForCausalLM` the parser now sets the head dimension to `qk_nope_head_dim`, as it already does for `Glm5NextForConditionalGeneration`. The op graph reads the attention geometry from `extra_params`, so it does not change. The value is the model head size, which the backend uses for its activation memory estimate.
DeepSeek-V3.2 moves from 56 to 128. GLM-5.2 stays at 192, because its config already declares 192. The bundled GLM-5 and GLM-5.1 configs also move to 192, from 64 (a stray `head_dim`) or from 96 (the fallback).
The new test pins GLM-5.2 at 192 and DeepSeek-V3.2 at 128. It also pins `zai-org/GLM-5` at 192, although its config declares a `head_dim` of 64.

…blished MIXED_PRECISION export
The two bundled files for nvidia/GLM-5.3-NVFP4 were byte-identical copies of the GLM-5.2-NVFP4 files. They did not describe the published GLM-5.3 export. That export uses the MIXED_PRECISION algorithm. It lists 87 quantized modules: the FP8 dense MLP projections of the first three layers and the NVFP4 routed experts of the other layers. It leaves the attention projections, the indexer and the shared experts out of the lists.
Both files are now unmodified copies of config.json and hf_quant_config.json from nvidia/GLM-5.3-NVFP4 at revision e3b8f9f2fad29727dfa95e766c5cac18ea1414bf.
config.json: sha256 b0b6b9ab922a82e3688bc39a4117bc443e106fcf88969ef48b3627778f4bdf7b (24476 bytes)
hf_quant_config.json: sha256 13799d4fed353c20dde2264fbdd7f68a780b514782f8d80bba96ac5e44aa9bba (11506 bytes)
THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md gains a section with the upstream source, the copyright owners, the license terms and the full GLM-5.3 License text. The packaged copy stays identical to the root file.
The earlier commits on this branch teach the SDK to read the target lists of such an export. With them, the export resolves to fp8_static dense GEMMs, nvfp4 experts and an FP8 KV cache. The attention projections, the indexer and the shared experts stay in BF16. The new tests pin this on the real files. They also pin that the raw head_dim is 64 while the parsed head dimension is 192.
A smoke test predicts static prefill and decode on b200_sxm with SGLang 0.5.14, vLLM 0.24.0 and TensorRT-LLM 1.3.0rc20. It fails on a missing-data error. So it proves that the attention rows at bfloat16 and the expert rows at nvfp4 resolve on every backend, and that the dense GEMM rows at fp8 resolve on SGLang. The other two backends price the first three layers like MoE layers and request no fp8 GEMM rows.

…s in the DSA targets reading
An expert-only requant of a natively FP8 checkpoint keeps the base FP8 header in config.json. Next to it sits a MIXED_PRECISION hf_quant_config.json that lists only the experts. For such an export, the lists describe the expert lane only. The targets reading treated every unlisted module as BF16. The resolver, in contrast, keeps the base FP8 lane for those modules.
mixed_precision_quantized_paths now returns None when the language quantization_config has quant_method fp8, compared in lower case. The glob reading then applies, as it did before the targets reading. An export with a ModelOpt header, such as nvidia/GLM-5.3-NVFP4, is not affected. No bundled DSA export has the FP8 header, so no prediction changes. The new tests pin a DeepSeek-V4-shaped fixture, the upper-case header and the same lists under a ModelOpt header.
The commit also folds in the wording items of the final review: one constant for the shard-consistency message, a docstring for quantized_paths in the dense-layer helper, a model-wide wording in the shared-expert docstring, an optional quantized_paths argument so that create() passes the set it already computed, the reader of the head dimension in the comment in the config parser, and the model info cache clear in the GLM-5.3 bundle test.

Brings in #563 (the zai-org GLM-5.3 bundle refresh), #560, #607 and #611.
The one conflict, in tests/unit/sdk/models/test_model_config.py, is two
GLM-5.3 test additions at the same place in TestBundledModelConfigsOffline;
both sides are kept, with this branch's nvidia/GLM-5.3-NVFP4 tests first.

…g makes stale
#563 recorded in sdk/common.py and in the GLM-5.3 bundle test that the
nvidia/GLM-5.3-NVFP4 bundle still carried the GLM-5.2-NVFP4 files because
the resolver did not read a MIXED_PRECISION export's target lists. This
branch refreshes the bundle and reads the lists, so the two notes now say
where the real bundle comes from and which test covers it.

Risk: High. The three areas that need the most human attention are:
Mixed-precision target resolution. Check that ModelOpt target paths, attention exclusions, dense MLP grouping, and exclusion-glob precedence resolve as intended.
GLM-5.3-NVFP4 configuration. Verify that the bundled replacement files produce the intended FP8 dense layers, NVFP4 routed experts, and BF16 attention and shared experts.
DSA head dimension parsing. Confirm that using qk_nope_head_dim gives correct prefill memory estimates without changing decode behavior.
Changes and contracts
DSA parsing now reads positive target lists from ModelOpt MIXED_PRECISION exports, alongside exclusion globs. Other model families remain glob-only.
Expert-only requants with an FP8 base config retain glob-only behavior.
New helper functions parse target paths, check module-path coverage, determine attention exclusions, and detect quantized shared experts. Dense gate/up projections must agree on quantization or resolution raises ValueError.
The bundled GLM-5.3-NVFP4 configuration files are replaced with versions from the specified NVIDIA revision. A third-party notice records attribution and license terms.
DSA head dimension parsing now uses qk_nope_head_dim.
Evidence and readiness
Technical quality evidence: The supplied report records 12,702 unit tests passed and 32 skipped on 16ce937e, plus 389 parity tests passed and clean Ruff checks. On merged head 3f95beb9, the two modules with new tests passed (361 tests). The prediction comparison reports 4,158 rows, no regressions or status changes, and 33 drift rows, all for GLM-5.3-NVFP4 on B200/SGLang.
Still missing: Full test and parity reruns on merged head were in progress. Three failures on 16ce937e were reported as pre-existing on main; two involve subprocess cases, and one involves a missing scikit-learn dependency. No current review findings were supplied, so review severity counts are unavailable.
Merge readiness: The supplied validation is substantial, but the full merged-head reruns remain incomplete. The reported prediction drift for GLM-5.3-NVFP4 also merits review against expected model behavior.
The GLM-5.3-NVFP4 configuration now specifies per-layer mixed precision. The SDK uses mixed-precision target paths when resolving DSA model quantization and attention dimensions. The PR also adds upstream license notices and tests for configuration parsing and model behavior.

Deterministic unit tests cover target collection, component-boundary matching, glob precedence, FP8-header fallback, and the real bundle’s resolved FP8/NVFP4/BF16 modes in test_mixed_precision_targets.py and test_model_config.py:2139-2181. Commit 09bcd36 explains the head-dimension change and its affected models. The supplied regression summary reports 4,158 compared rows, no regressions or status changes, and 33 identified drift rows, with the drift confined to the refreshed GLM-5.3 bundle. This is not binary-only validation, and the configuration refresh is explained and hash-verifiable.
Full details: Compatibility Boundaries
Explanation
No compatibility-boundary failure is introduced. The PR changes only Python model metadata, DSA parsing, tests, and synchronized notices; it does not change Cargo manifests, the Python manifest, the lockfile, Rust bindings, or engine schemas. The wheel/crate versions remain 0.13.0 (python/aisimulate/pyproject.toml:4-5,40; crates/core/Cargo.toml:4-8), and the wheel still includes all model configs (python/aisimulate/pyproject.toml:113-160). The root and package notices remain byte-identical. The new helpers stay in the canonical Python module (sdk/models/helpers.py:165-214), while the legacy module remains an alias (aisimulate/sdk/models/helpers.py:4-8). The diff adds no Dynamo dependency or binding change.
Full details: Cross-Layer Contract
Explanation
The mixed-precision target contract is stale for the SGLang large-EP consumer. The refreshed GLM-5.3 config lists only dense and routed-expert targets and excludes only layer 78 (config JSON lines 325-337, 353-365, 770-773). DeepSeekV32Model.create() correctly derives the BF16 shared-expert override (deepseek_v32.py:276-284), but _large_ep_moe_ops() discards that override for every backend except TRT-LLM (deepseek_v32.py:331-347). The large-EP builder then falls back to cfg.gemm_quant_mode when the override is None (blocks/moe.py:333-345 and 474-501). Therefore SGLang large-EP predicts the GLM-5.3 shared experts with the global fp8_static mode instead of BF16. The new tests verify extra_params and fused graphs, but do not test the SGLang large-EP graph; existing coverage explicitly preserves the old SGLang global-mode behavior (test_large_ep_model_graphs.py:621-663).
Resolution
Apply the target-only shared-expert override in the SGLang large-EP path, while preserving the existing glob-only legacy behavior if required for compatibility. Pass dsa_shared_expert_quant_mode to build_large_ep_moe_ops() for a MIXED_PRECISION target export, and add a GLM-5.3 SGLang large-EP test that asserts both shared-expert GEMMs use BF16 and routed experts retain NVFP4. Update the related compatibility documentation and test expectations if the behavior is intentionally changed.

Explanation
The description covers all template sections and provides detailed behavior, risks, evidence, provenance, and tracking information. However, the required Codex reviewed commit is still marked pending for this medium-risk change.
Resolution
Complete the Codex review and replace "pending" with the reviewed commit identifier. Update the evidence section with any resulting findings or resolutions before merge.
Full details: Review Evidence
Explanation
The review depends on the pull request description, but the supplied description is truncated after the SGLang collector note. The visible portion reports test counts and parity results, but it does not provide the exact validation commands or show whether local, fake-runner, parity, and production evidence are distinguished. It also does not establish whether the omitted text cites inactive nested workflows as hosted CI. The repository template confirms that exact commands/results and negative or boundary cases belong in the Evidence section (.github/pull_request_template.md:23-37).
Resolution
Provide the complete pull request description, including the full Evidence section and any CI or workflow references. Then verify the commands, results, evidence-source distinctions, boundary validation, and whether any nested workflow is incorrectly presented as hosted CI.

The frozen GLM-5.3 config retains head_dim: 192 while defining qk_nope_head_dim: 192 and qk_rope_head_dim: 64. The DSA model implementation uses the explicit qk_nope_head_dim, qk_rope_head_dim, and v_head_dim fields for projection sizing rather than generic head_dim. This supports the PR’s change to parse DSA dimensions from qk_nope_head_dim. Its mixed-precision compatibility logic classifies positive ModelOpt targets into GEMM versus routed-MoE categories, while deliberately excluding shared_expert targets from routed-expert classification. The GLM-5.3 B200 aggregated and disaggregated deployment recipes consume the checkpoint as RadixArk/GLM-5.3-NVFP4 and expose it as zai-org/GLM-5.3; the decode recipe also requires fp4-gemm-backend: flashinfer_cutlass. Do not use qk_nope_head_dim as the generic activation head size.
The parser assigns d = config["qk_nope_head_dim"] for both DSA architectures. DeepSeekV32Model passes d to BaseModel as _head_size, and base_backend.py:2460 uses _num_heads * _head_size for activation memory.
This changes activation estimates for every configuration using this parser branch. For GLM-5.x, 192 is neither the full Q/K width (256) nor the V width (256). DeepSeek-V3.2 uses 128 for both qk_nope_head_dim and v_head_dim.
Set d to the dimension required by the generic activation estimate, or add a model-specific activation-width override. Include explained before/after activation-memory evidence for DeepSeek-V3.2 and GLM-5.x.

Include the NVIDIA Open Model Agreement text. A link alone does not meet its redistribution condition.
The upstream model card says the NVIDIA Open Model Agreement governs these files. The notice only links to that agreement. Section 3 of the agreement allows redistribution only on these conditions: You may reproduce and distribute copies of the Work or Derivative Works thereof in any medium, with or without modifications, and in source or object form, provided that You meet the following conditions: a. You must give any other recipients of the Work a copy of this License. The agreement defines the governed material broadly. The 2025 version of the NVIDIA model license lists configuration files and documentation shared under this Agreement under "Model". This PR packages both GLM-5.3-NVFP4 JSON files in the Python distribution. The notice reproduces the GLM-5.3 License in full but leaves out the NVIDIA agreement. This makes the provenance record incomplete. The path instructions require the license text to "remain complete".
Fix:
Reproduce the NVIDIA Open Model Agreement text, release date April 2, 2026, after the GLM-5.3 License.
Make the same edit in python/aisimulate/THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md so the two files stay byte-identical.
Run python3 scripts/ci/check_packaged_legal_files.py.
Before you merge, check the exact agreement version shown on the upstream model card at e3b8f9f2. As per coding guidelines: "Add an entry to the root THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md identifying the derived files, upstream source and immutable revision, copyright owner, applicable license"; as per path instructions: "Verify upstream provenance, license text ... remain complete and internally consistent."

Closing in favour of #610, which fixes the same AISIM-2123 problem and was opened first; we did not see it before opening this PR. #610 bundles the same files (identical sha256) and covers everything this PR does, plus the DeepSeek-family consumers, the large-EP shared-expert rule, the listed-GEMM validator and the full license texts, so keeping both would only split review time.
Two points from this PR continue as Linear follow-ups: the DSA activation width across the family (AISIM-2180) and the model-wide attention and shared-expert flags (AISIM-2179). The collector counterpart stays in #614, which #610's description leaves to the collector owners. A review of #610 follows.

Why and what changed
nvidia/GLM-5.3-NVFP4(revisione3b8f9f2fad29727dfa95e766c5cac18ea1414bf) is a ModelOptMIXED_PRECISIONexport: the dense MLPs of layers 0 to 2 are FP8, the routed experts of layers 3 to 77 are NVFP4 (group size 16), the KV cache is FP8, and the attention projections and the shared experts stay BF16. The export marks the BF16 modules only by their absence fromquantized_layersandconfig_groups.*.targets; its one exclusion glob (model.layers.78*) covers the MTP layer. The SDK resolver read exclusion globs only, so the real file priced the DSA attention projections and the shared experts with the global GEMM mode (fp8_static, inferred from the FP8 dense lane), no DSA module table carries such rows, and the model returned no results on any backend. The bundle therefore still carried the GLM-5.2-NVFP4 files (pure NVFP4 with 156 exclusion globs), which model the three FP8 dense layers as BF16.This PR makes the DSA family (
DeepseekV32ForCausalLM,GlmMoeDsaForCausalLM) read aMIXED_PRECISIONexport targets-only: a module is quantized only if a listed target covers it, and the exclusion globs stay in force on top (union for the attention groups, glob wins for the dense layers, either for the shared experts). New helpers insdk/models/helpers.pycollect the listed module paths (class-name, regex and glob entries are dropped;lm_headand other root modules are kept) and answer coverage questions;sdk/models/deepseek_v32.pyconsults them for the attention groups, the shared experts and the SGLang dense-prefix groups. Other model families keep the glob reading. The DSA configs now take their head dimension fromqk_nope_head_diminstead of the top-levelhead_dim(64 in the export, a stray value). Only the backend activation-memory estimate reads that value (base_backend.py:2460); the op graph takes the attention geometry fromextra_params, so no latency changes. Bundles whose parsed head dimension moves:deepseek-ai/DeepSeek-V3.2andnvidia/DeepSeek-V3.2-NVFP4from thehidden_size // headsfallback 56 to 128;zai-org/GLM-5,zai-org/GLM-5-FP8,nvidia/GLM-5-NVFP4,zai-org/GLM-5.1andzai-org/GLM-5.1-FP8from a declared 64 (their rope dimension) to 192;nvidia/GLM-5.1-NVFP4from 96 to 192. The GLM-5.2 and GLM-5.3 families stay at 192. Measured effect on the prefill activation estimate at batch 1, 32,768 input tokens,b200_sxmtp8/ep8: DeepSeek-V3.2-NVFP4 6.1 to 14.0 GB (total 64.5 to 72.4 GB, vLLM and TRT-LLM), GLM-5 5.5 to 12.9 GB (SGLang) and 3.5 to 10.5 GB (TRT-LLM), GLM-5.1-NVFP4 5.25 to 10.5 GB; decode points unchanged. A borderline long-prompt configuration of those models can move from fits to does-not-fit in a sweep. The bundlednvidia--GLM-5.3-NVFP4configuration andhf_quant_configare replaced by unmodified copies of the pinned revision, with the attribution entry inTHIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md.Consumers: every caller that predicts
nvidia/GLM-5.3-NVFP4(CLI, Sweeper, Planner) now gets the checkpoint's real recipe: attention and shared experts BF16, routed experts NVFP4, dense layers 0 to 2 FP8, KV cache FP8. The model's resolved global GEMM mode, visible in CLI output, changes fromnvfp4(the GLM-5.2 copy) tofp8_static(inferred from the FP8 dense lane); the DSA attention projections and the shared experts are excluded from it. An export that lists its attention projections keeps them quantized. An expert-only requant of a natively FP8 checkpoint (aquant_method: fp8base header inconfig.jsonnext to a mixedhf_quant_config.jsonthat lists only the experts, the shape of the DeepSeek-V4 NVFP4 bundles) keeps the glob reading, because its base header already names the non-expert lane.Merge order: this PR depends on the collector PR #614 being merged first. With the refreshed bundle and today's collector, the SGLang MLA module collector at its pinned SGLang 0.5.14 would load this model through
W4AFp8Configand label block-FP8 attention timingsbfloat16; the collector PR makes that case fail loudly instead.Known limitations, deliberate and tracked in Linear AISIM-2179: the attention-group and shared-expert flags are model-wide (no known ModelOpt export mixes precision per layer inside those modules); a listed ancestor path such as
model.layers.0is honoured by the dense-layer reading but not by the attention and shared-expert readings (no known export lists layer-level targets).Review map
