fix: the SGLang MLA module collector recognises the ModelOpt mixed recipe - #614
collector/sglang/collect_mla_module.py decides from the bundled *_hf_quant_config.json and *_config.json how a checkpoint is loaded for the MLA and DSA module collections (_model_native_gemm_quant: nvfp4 → --quantization modelopt_fp4 plus the SM guard, fp8_block → fp8, None → no flag) and which gemm_type label the timed projections get. The function did not recognise a ModelOpt MIXED_PRECISION export and returned None for it. For nvidia/GLM-5.3-NVFP4 (FP8 dense layers 0 to 2, NVFP4 routed experts, BF16 attention and shared experts) that None is unsafe at the pinned SGLang 0.5.14: the config parser maps the export to w4afp8 (model_config.py:1151@v0.5.14), W4AFp8Config builds block-FP8 attention projections, and the collector would record those timings under the label bfloat16. The companion SDK change (#610, Harry Lee) refreshes that bundle from the pure-NVFP4 GLM-5.2 copy to the real export, which is when this path would open; its description leaves this collector change to the collector owners.
This PR adds the mixed-recipe rule after the existing branches: read the section SGLang parses (the config.jsonquantization_config when present, otherwise the hf_quant_config.jsonquantization section); when quant_method is absent or modelopt and quant_algo is MIXED_PRECISION, return nvfp4 if any quantized_layers entry carries an NVFP4 or W4A16_NVFP4 lane, and raise ValueError when no such lane exists (SGLang resolves such an export to w4afp8, which this collector has no path for). A mixed export that lists an attention module (self_attn.*) in quantized_layers raises as well, because the DSA module label assumes BF16 attention projections and cannot describe such an export. The existing branches are unchanged, so the DeepSeek-V4 NVFP4 bundles (config.jsonquant_method fp8 with weight_block_size) keep fp8_block. The loader value stays modelopt_fp4: at 0.5.14 SGLang rejects it for this export inside ServerArgs (model_config.py:1299-1302, 1346-1375@v0.5.14), so a targeted case fails loudly instead of measuring the wrong kernels; from v0.5.15 the parser routes the export to modelopt_mixed and overrides modelopt_fp4 (model_config.py:1153-1163@v0.5.15, modelopt_quant.py:649-654@v0.5.17), which is the model card's serving flag. The SM guard, its message and load_quantization are not touched (follow-ups: AISIM-2177, AISIM-2178).
Consumers: the SGLang MLA/DSA module collection plan and load_model_runner. No perf-row schema, filename or SDK change. Operator note: at the pinned 0.5.14, every targeted DSA case of nvidia/GLM-5.3-NVFP4 with the refreshed bundle fails with SGLang's own ValueError by design (the pin cannot load the mixed recipe); that is not a regression of this PR. Real collection of that export waits for the version decision in AISIM-2178, whose upgrade audit should re-derive, for this function, that modelopt_fp4 is then overridden to modelopt_mixed (the path turns from a loud failure into live data), the BF16 attention premise of the label, the per-layer methods of ModelOptMixedPrecisionConfig, the section precedence including compression_config, the quant_method gate, the exact MIXED_PRECISION match and the lane tuple.

Public or serialized contract changed: no.
Compatibility or rollback concern: a mixed export with FP8-only lanes now raises at plan generation instead of running w4afp8 silently; no bundled export reachable from the SGLang module rows has that shape. Merge this PR before fix: model nvidia/GLM-5.3-NVFP4 ModelOpt MIXED_PRECISION targets-only quantization #610, which refreshes the nvidia/GLM-5.3-NVFP4 bundle.

Negative or boundary cases: FP8-only mixed lanes raise (the message names the section that was read); an empty quantized_layers raises; a mixed export that quantizes attention modules raises; a lower-case mixed_precision is not the recipe (SGLang's match is exact); a malformed config.json or hf_quant_config.json raises its parse error instead of falling back to None, and a quantized_layers value that is not an object raises a ValueError that names the section; a quantization_config, compression_config or sidecar quantization section that is not an object raises the same way; a compression_config in config.json keeps the sidecar from being read, as in SGLang; a config.json without quantization_config next to a mixed hf_quant_config.json (the Nemotron-3.5-Lightning shape) resolves through the fallback; the config.json section wins over hf_quant_config.json as in SGLang.
Expected-value derivation: the lane test is SGLang's own from v0.5.15 (model_config.py:1154-1160@v0.5.15).
Before/after output: a survey of all 95 bundled model configurations (124 files with their hf_quant_config.json companions) changes four results: nvidia/NVIDIA-Nemotron-3.5-Lightning-30B-A3B-NVFP4 from None to nvfp4; nvidia/MiniMax-M3-NVFP4, nvidia/Qwen3.6-27B-NVFP4 and nvidia/Qwen3.6-35B-A3B-NVFP4 from None to the attention-lane ValueError (they list self_attn modules as quantized). None of the four is reachable from the MLA/DSA module rows, and the generated plans are identical before and after at SM 90, 100, 103 and 120.

A ModelOpt MIXED_PRECISION export lists one quantization lane per module in `quantized_layers`. The helper `_model_native_gemm_quant` returned `None` for it.
The helper now reads the section that SGLang parses. That is the `quantization_config` in `config.json` when it is present, and the `quantization` section of `hf_quant_config.json` otherwise. The export counts as mixed only when `quant_method` is absent or `modelopt`, and `quant_algo` is `MIXED_PRECISION`. The helper returns `"nvfp4"` when one lane is NVFP4 or W4A16_NVFP4. It raises `ValueError` when no lane is, because SGLang resolves such an export to `w4afp8` and this collector has no path for it. The check runs after the existing branches, so the DeepSeek-V4 exports keep `fp8_block`.
At SGLang 0.5.14, the pinned version, a MIXED_PRECISION export parses as `w4afp8` and `modelopt_fp4` is rejected inside `ServerArgs`. A targeted case therefore fails with a framework error. Returning `None` would build `W4AFp8Config` and time block-FP8 attention under the label `bfloat16`. From v0.5.15, SGLang parses an export with an NVFP4 lane as `modelopt_mixed` and overrides `modelopt_fp4` to it. The comment above the check cites the SGLang lines for each version.
The plan output does not change for the bundled exports. Four bundled exports now return `"nvfp4"` instead of `None`, and no MLA or DSA module row reaches them. The new tests cover each clause of the rule, the DeepSeek-V4 shape, the unchanged controls, the DSA label and the SM90 guard.

…ention and pins its reading rules
The `bfloat16` label of a DSA module assumes that the attention projections are not quantized. A ModelOpt MIXED_PRECISION export can list attention modules in `quantized_layers`, and the helper did not check for that. Past SGLang 0.5.14 such an export would load, and its rows would carry the wrong label.
The helper now raises `ValueError` for a MIXED_PRECISION export that lists a `self_attn` lane. The check runs before the NVFP4 lane test. The `ValueError` for an export without an NVFP4 lane now names the section that was read, `config.json quantization_config` or `hf_quant_config.json quantization`.
The citation comment now says what each cited SGLang line does. The version-bump note now lists what to re-derive once the pin moves past 0.5.14.
The plan output does not change. Of the four bundled exports that the mixed-recipe rule turns from `None` into `"nvfp4"`, three list attention lanes and would now raise: MiniMax-M3, Qwen3.6-27B and Qwen3.6-35B-A3B. No MLA or DSA module row reaches them. The new tests cover the guard, the `hf_quant_config.json` fallback next to a `config.json` without `quantization_config`, the exact-case match on `quant_algo` and the section name in the error.

Verify that the target exports use the expected quantized_layers shape and NVFP4 or W4A16_NVFP4 lane names.
Resolve the SGLang version decision. The change classifies mixed-precision metadata; it does not add loader support.
Confirm that nvfp4 is the correct loader label for these mixed exports, and that the DSA bfloat16 label is valid when no attention lane is listed.
Changed behavior
The collector follows the reported SGLang metadata order: config.json’s quantization_config, then compression_config, then hf_quant_config.json’s quantization only when both config sections are absent. A declared section that is not an object raises ValueError.
For a ModelOpt MIXED_PRECISION recipe, the collector raises if quantized_layers is not an object, if an attention lane is listed, or if no supported NVFP4 lane exists. It returns nvfp4 when a lane uses NVFP4 or W4A16_NVFP4. The supplied change summary reports that existing quantization branches, the SM guard, and load_quantization remain unchanged. No public or serialized contract change is reported.
Evidence and readiness
The supplied tests cover mixed-export lane detection, metadata precedence, malformed metadata, attention lanes, existing export formats, DSA labeling, Hopper behavior, and case building. The inspected test excerpt confirms coverage for config-versus-sidecar precedence, FP4 lane variants, malformed metadata, and the bundled GLM-5.3 lane shape. It does not independently verify the complete implementation or all reported compression-config edge cases.
The author reports 3,953 tests passed and 18 skipped in tests/unit/collector; one unrelated macOS-hanging test was deselected. Ruff check and format were reported clean. These results were not independently rerun. The author reports that targeted DSA cases intentionally raise SGLang 0.5.14’s ValueError, and collection awaits the version decision tracked in AISIM-2178. Current fast and full CI results are unavailable. Current review severity counts are unavailable because no review findings were supplied.
Technical quality: The supplied evidence shows targeted tests for classification, precedence, and explicit failure cases.
Merge readiness: Not established. The SGLang version decision and current CI results remain outstanding. The reported test and lint results do not establish successful collection of the target DSA export.
The collector now selects the NVFP4 loader for supported ModelOpt MIXED_PRECISION lanes. It applies precedence rules for config.json and hf_quant_config.json metadata, and raises errors for invalid metadata and unsupported lane configurations.

The collector reads quantization_config and compression_config from config.json. It checks the sidecar quantization section only when neither config section is present. For supported ModelOpt MIXED_PRECISION metadata, it returns "nvfp4" when a lane uses "NVFP4" or "W4A16_NVFP4". It raises errors for invalid metadata, quantized attention lanes, or missing supported lanes. Tests cover precedence, Hopper behavior, and existing export formats.
ai-dynamo/aisimulate#610: Adds the GLM-5.3-NVFP4 MIXED_PRECISION export shape that this collector reads.
ai-dynamo/aisimulate#615: Resolves the same GLM-5.3-NVFP4 MIXED_PRECISION target lists for DSA models.

Explanation
The PR changes selection logic and supplies the required evidence. collect_mla_module.py:477-540 documents the SGLang 0.5.14–0.5.17 provenance with file, line, and release references. The base implementation returned None for mixed exports, while the new tests assert nvfp4 for the mixed lane shape (test_collect_mla_module_native_quant.py:130-168). The same machine-readable JSON fixtures cover precedence, unchanged formats, unsupported lanes, attention lanes, and malformed metadata (:170-351), with explicit anomaly assertions. No binary-only validation or unexplained data refresh is present.
Full details: Compatibility Boundaries
Explanation
No compatibility-boundary change is introduced. The reviewed diff changes only the SGLang collector and its unit tests; it does not change Python or Rust manifests, schemas, bindings, CLI/Replay contracts, or public declarations. The collector keeps the pinned SGLang compatibility value (collect_mla_module.py:25) and returns internal labels consumed by the existing loader path (:463-601, :1145-1151). Python and Rust remain version 0.13.0 (python/aisimulate/pyproject.toml:4-6, Cargo.toml:4-12), and the documented two-artifact contract is unchanged (docs/ci/release.md:8-28). The changed implementation adds no Dynamo dependency or import; the standalone boundary remains documented in README.md:437-439.
Full details: Description check
Explanation
The pull request description follows the required template. It documents the problem, behavior change, review map, compatibility concerns, test and CI evidence, boundary cases, provenance, and tracking information. The low-risk classification explains why Codex review is not applicable.
Full details: Cross-Layer Contract
Explanation
The standing cross-layer contract failure remains. In the changed _model_native_gemm_quant, the legacy hf_quant_config.json branch returns nvfp4 or fp8_block at lines 495-506 before the new section selection and MIXED_PRECISION validation at lines 545-600. Therefore, a mixed config.json export is ignored when the sidecar contains a legacy top-level NVFP4 or FP8 algorithm. The added precedence test uses a mixed sidecar, not a conflicting legacy sidecar, so it does not cover this path. The resulting value still feeds the DSA label, case filters, and loader through _model_dsa_operator_gemm_type (line 638), the case builders (lines 710 and 795), and load_model_runner (line 1145).
Resolution
Select the effective quantization section before applying any legacy or mixed rule. Use config.jsonquantization_config when its key is present, then compression_config, and use sidecar quantization only when both are absent. Apply the existing NVFP4/FP8 rules and mixed validation to that selected section. Add a regression test with a mixed config section and a conflicting legacy sidecar quant_algo such as NVFP4 or FP8; assert that the config result or its ValueError wins.
Full details: Review Evidence
Explanation
The supplied PR description is truncated in the Evidence section. The available text reports test totals and CI status, but does not show the exact commands or whether local, fake-runner, parity, and production evidence are distinguished. The repository template requires exact commands and results plus negative or boundary cases (.github/pull_request_template.md:23-37). The changed tests do provide negative and boundary coverage, but that does not establish the missing description requirements. The visible text does not prove that inactive nested workflows were cited as hosted CI evidence.
Resolution
Provide the complete PR description, especially the Evidence section, with exact commands and results, explicit evidence scope for local/fake-runner/parity/production validation, and clear hosted-CI attribution.

A parse error of an existing config.json or hf_quant_config.json fell back
to None in the mixed-recipe reading, and None is the bfloat16 DSA label, the
silent outcome the reading exists to prevent. The error now propagates. A
quantized_layers value that is not an object raises a ValueError that names
the section, instead of an AttributeError for a truthy value or an empty
reading for a falsy one.

…e other NVFP4 checkpoints
A targeted SM90 run of nvidia/GLM-5.3-NVFP4 must build no DSA context
cases, like the other NVFP4 checkpoints. The new test pins that for the
ModelOpt MIXED_PRECISION export. It writes the export to tmp_path in the
GLM-5.3-NVFP4 shape, because the bundled copy is still a top-level NVFP4
export that the Hopper filter drops with or without the mixed rule, so a
test that reads it passes either way. Against the collector from cd6efc5,
which returns None for this shape, it fails with 88 cases.
The existing Hopper test now also covers nvidia/GLM-5.3-NVFP4 against the
bundled files. The export helpers take an optional model id, since a
targeted run needs an id that the cases YAML declares.

GLM-5.3 B200 deployments use the generic SGLang label modelopt_fp4 with FP8 KV cache; this is the downstream runtime contract the collector must preserve. [::ai-dynamo/dynamo::recipes/glm-5.3/sglang/disagg-b200-agentic/deploy.yaml:21-23]
H200 GLM-5.3 deployments instead use fp8, confirming that the loader label distinguishes checkpoint variants rather than fully describing every per-layer quantization lane. [::ai-dynamo/dynamo::recipes/glm-5.3/sglang/agg-h200-agentic/deploy.yaml:13-17]
Dynamo documentation instructs users to inspect both config.json and hf_quant_config.json at the exact revision, and not infer precision from model names. [::ai-dynamo/dynamo::agent-docs/guides/model-sizing/classification.md:13-23]
ai-dynamo/aiconfigurator
The existing SGLang compatibility collector reads ModelOpt sidecar metadata first and falls back to config.json; it maps any FP4 algorithm to nvfp4 and suppresses file/parsing exceptions. The PR’s mixed-precision path intentionally differs by using config.json precedence and propagating malformed-input errors. [::ai-dynamo/aiconfigurator::collector/sglang/collect_mla_module.py:474-510]
SDK tests establish two mixed-precision representations: config_groups and sidecar quantized_layers. They map FP8 dense lanes to GEMM FP8 and NVFP4 expert lanes to MoE NVFP4. [::ai-dynamo/aiconfigurator::tests/unit/sdk/test_utils.py:1313-1389]
MXFP8 dense/attention lanes plus NVFP4 routed-expert lanes are expected to resolve to block-FP8 GEMMs and NVFP4 MoE, with no KV/FMHA override when KV quantization is null. [::ai-dynamo/aiconfigurator::tests/unit/sdk/test_utils.py:1391-1433]
The model-config loader requires both base and sidecar JSON payloads to be mappings before attaching the sidecar, so malformed metadata is treated as a configuration error at this boundary. [::ai-dynamo/aiconfigurator::collector/fpm_forward/model_capability.py:126-144]
In the checked bundled snapshot, GLM-5.3-NVFP4 metadata is still classified as plain NVFP4 in both config.json and hf_quant_config.json, rather than MIXED_PRECISION. [::ai-dynamo/aiconfigurator::aic-core/src/aiconfigurator_core/model_configs/nvidia--GLM-5.3-NVFP4_config.json:484-494] [::ai-dynamo/aiconfigurator::aic-core/src/aiconfigurator_core/model_configs/nvidia--GLM-5.3-NVFP4_hf_quant_config.json:1-8]
…elOpt sidecar and rejects non-object sections
SGLang 0.5.14 resolves the quantization config in the order quantization_config, compression_config, hf_quant_config.json (configs/model_config.py:1034-1046@v0.5.14). The mixed-recipe reading fell back to the sidecar whenever config.json had no quantization_config, so a checkpoint that declares compression_config could read an NVFP4 lane the runtime never sees. The sidecar is now read only when neither section is declared.
A quantization_config or quantization section that is not an object raised nothing and read as absent, which could turn malformed metadata into the bfloat16 label. It now raises a ValueError that names the section. Tests cover list, zero and string values of both sections and the compression_config precedence.

… and pins the precedence edge cases
A compression_config that is present and not an object read as declared and returned None, while the same value in quantization_config raises; it now raises a ValueError that names the section. Three tests pin the SGLang order at its edges: a JSON null compression_config is absent and the sidecar is still read, an empty object is declared and the sidecar is not read, and quantization_config wins over compression_config. The comments cite the exact lines of _parse_quant_hf_config at v0.5.14 and no longer say that a declaring checkpoint never reaches the mixed recipe, because its own quantization_config still does.

LGTM, approving. Nothing below blocks the merge.
What I checked:
SGLang citations and semantics. The citations in _model_native_gemm_quant match the SGLang sources at v0.5.14, v0.5.15 and v0.5.17. That covers the section order (quantization_config, then compression_config, then the sidecar), the quant_method gate, the exact MIXED_PRECISION match and the lane tuple.
The 0.5.14 rejection. I traced every override_quantization_method. At 0.5.14 none of them overrides modelopt_fp4 for this export, so ServerArgs raises.
The collector pin. The collector is pinned to sglang==0.5.14, so the 0.5.15+ path cannot produce data yet. Its BF16 premise also holds at 0.5.17: modules not listed in quantized_layers get UnquantizedLinearMethod.
Your survey of the bundled configs. I reproduced it: 95 models, and exactly the four changes you list. No spec that the MLA/DSA builders can reach raises.
Mutation testing. All nine mutants of the new branch fail at least one test. The tests write only to tmp_path, and they give the same result under xdist and reordering.
Against current main, which now includes #610 (17625dc). The merge with this PR is clean:
tests/unit/collector: 3965 passed, 19 skipped.
The two module test files plus test_modelopt_mixed_precision_targets.py: 296 passed.
Targeted nvidia/GLM-5.3-NVFP4 on SM90: the DSA plan goes from 192 cases to 0.
On SM100/103/120 the cases now load with modelopt_fp4 and fail loudly at 0.5.14. Before, they loaded with no flag, ran as w4afp8, and would have been labelled bfloat16.
Non-blocking suggestions:
The description is out of date.#610 has merged, so "Merge this PR before #610" and "plans identical before and after" no longer describe the base, and CI has not yet run on the real MIXED_PRECISION bundle. Please merge main into the branch once so CI covers the real bundle, and update the before/after. Main is currently in the state this PR closes, so landing it soon is good.
The lane test's boundary is not pinned. If in {"NVFP4", "W4A16_NVFP4"} is loosened to "FP4" in algo, all 137 tests still pass. Suggest a negative parametrize, for example NVFP4_AWQ, W4A8_NVFP4_FP8 or MXFP4 next to an FP8 lane, expecting ValueError(match="w4afp8").
Two citation nits:
The quant_method gate is model_config.py:1034-1042@v0.5.14; 1044 is already the compression_config fallback.
With the collector's ServerArgs, the failing ModelConfig is first built from server_args.py:2524 (_handle_gpu_memory_settings), not from 2533/3497.
Optional: the sidecar path also applies the quant_method gate, which SGLang does not do for the sidecar. No bundled export hits this. A test pinning quantization_config: {} as declared would mirror the existing compression_config test.
Pre-existing follow-ups, not caused by this PR:
The SM<100 NVFP4 filter in _build_module_test_cases and _build_wideep_mla_test_cases drops specs without logging anything.
The collect_mla_module hash closure does not include model_configs/*, so a config-only refresh does not change collector_hash.
Brings in 110 main commits: the 2026-10 campaign data (ai-dynamo#517: vLLM 0.30.0 /
TRT-LLM 1.3.0rc29 / SGLang 0.5.21 tables), Harry Lee's GLM-5.3-Flash per-op
collectors and data (ai-dynamo#361, ai-dynamo#514, ai-dynamo#538: vLLM 0.31.0 / SGLang 0.5.20 model
pins), Mandy Li's B60 XPU graph mode (c3f77c2), the GLM-5.3 config refresh
(ai-dynamo#563) and the SGLang ModelOpt mixed-recipe MLA fix (ai-dynamo#614).
Resolution policy: union of both sides' audited runtimes; neither side's
collection behaviour changes.
- Version admission. Main admits GLM-5.3-Flash on vLLM 0.31.0 / SGLang
0.5.20 and (written before ai-dynamo#517) excluded vLLM 0.28-0.30; the branch's
defaults are vLLM 0.30.0 / SGLang 0.5.21. File-level __compat__ now spans
both; main's per-architecture gates gain the branch's audited releases:
vLLM kda Kimi-K3 ==0.30.0 (the preview pin was retired 2026-09-28),
vLLM mhc DeepSeek-V4 0.24.0-0.30.0, SGLang kda Kimi-K3 0.5.16 + 0.5.21,
SGLang mhc DeepSeek-V4 0.5.14 + 0.5.21. GLM-5.3-Flash gates unchanged.
- SGLang gemm: main swaps in collect_gemm_0520 for `release >= (0, 5, 20)`,
which would have moved the 0.5.21 default onto the 0.5.20 fork; the fork
now applies to exactly 0.5.20 (test asserts the equality gate).
- SGLang moe: the branch's num_tokens series (one task per shape) keeps
main's Triton config observation per point: the counters are handed to the
sidecar with each point's row and reset.
- helper.benchmark_with_power: main's device-module form (XPU graphs) with
the branch's heartbeat, num_eager_warmups, phase timing and graph-only
replay warmup.
- vLLM XPU MoE: main's XPU graph mode; allow_graph_fail stays at its False
default (the former-fallback-site test forbids the keyword).
- Generated/derived files: perf_data_reuse_manifest.yaml and its report
regenerated over the merged data (only change vs main: the retired
dsv4_hca_attn_module_perf entry); op_backend_facts.yaml rewritten from the
merged data + translation table (169 drifts, all "unverified" labels the
branch's kernel_source translations now resolve); b60.csv taken from main.
- GLM-5.3 naming: both sides agree (plain repo = FP8 block, -BF16 = bf16);
main's order/comments kept, duplicates dropped.
- Tests: main's version-policy tests updated to the merged policy; main's
packaged-model inventories list the branch's bundled configs (Qwen3.8-2.4T
NVFP4, Nemotron-3.5-Lightning BF16 - validated by the test's own load -
and DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash NVFP4, unloadable for the same quantization-metadata
reason as main's V4 NVFP4 entries); the branch's vLLM KV-dtype test follows
main's ai-dynamo#487 (BF16 renders literally on vLLM >= 0.11).
Known, not from this merge: tests/golden/generator release-1.2.0 contracts
expect --max-num-batched-tokens 4060 / 3548; the branch's 64-aligned token
budgets (0df714b, 2446f6c) render 4096 / 3584 and already failed them
before the merge. Updating a release golden needs a maintainer decision.
Open question carried forward (not decided here): main's 0.5.20 gemm audit
lists serving changes for bf16 (CuTe DSL / FlashInfer split-K on SM10x),
fp8_block (Triton fallback for N%64 / K%128), nvfp4 (padding, cute-dsl
activation quant) and per-tensor fp8; collect_gemm_0520 collects no
per-tensor fp8. Checked against the v0.5.21 source for per-tensor fp8 only:
Fp8ScaledMMOp still resolves to the AOT sgl_kernel fp8_scaled_mm the branch
times, except SM90 with M >= 8192 on wide shapes (Torch NVJet; 237 of 36,852
fp8 rows on H100/H200); the per-token activation quant runs the JIT build of
the same kernel (the branch and compute_scale call the AOT op). bf16,
fp8_block and nvfp4 at 0.5.21 remain unchecked.

…cipe (ai-dynamo#614)
* fix: the SGLang MLA module collector recognises the ModelOpt mixed recipe

* fix: the MLA module collector rejects mixed exports that quantize attention and pins its reading rules

* fix: the MLA module collector lets a malformed export file fail loudly
A parse error of an existing config.json or hf_quant_config.json fell back
to None in the mixed-recipe reading, and None is the bfloat16 DSA label, the
silent outcome the reading exists to prevent. The error now propagates. A
quantized_layers value that is not an object raises a ValueError that names
the section, instead of an AttributeError for a truthy value or an empty
reading for a falsy one.

* test: the Hopper case builder drops the ModelOpt mixed export like the other NVFP4 checkpoints
Against the collector from 352dd06,
which returns None for this shape, it fails with 88 cases.
The existing Hopper test now also covers nvidia/GLM-5.3-NVFP4 against the
bundled files. The export helpers take an optional model id, since a
targeted run needs an id that the cases YAML declares.

Why and what changed
collector/sglang/collect_mla_module.pydecides from the bundled*_hf_quant_config.jsonand*_config.jsonhow a checkpoint is loaded for the MLA and DSA module collections (_model_native_gemm_quant:nvfp4→--quantization modelopt_fp4plus the SM guard,fp8_block→fp8,None→ no flag) and whichgemm_typelabel the timed projections get. The function did not recognise a ModelOptMIXED_PRECISIONexport and returnedNonefor it. Fornvidia/GLM-5.3-NVFP4(FP8 dense layers 0 to 2, NVFP4 routed experts, BF16 attention and shared experts) thatNoneis unsafe at the pinned SGLang 0.5.14: the config parser maps the export tow4afp8(model_config.py:1151@v0.5.14),W4AFp8Configbuilds block-FP8 attention projections, and the collector would record those timings under the labelbfloat16. The companion SDK change (#610, Harry Lee) refreshes that bundle from the pure-NVFP4 GLM-5.2 copy to the real export, which is when this path would open; its description leaves this collector change to the collector owners. This PR adds the mixed-recipe rule after the existing branches: read the section SGLang parses (the
config.jsonquantization_configwhen present, otherwise thehf_quant_config.jsonquantizationsection); whenquant_methodis absent ormodeloptandquant_algoisMIXED_PRECISION, returnnvfp4if anyquantized_layersentry carries anNVFP4orW4A16_NVFP4lane, and raiseValueErrorwhen no such lane exists (SGLang resolves such an export tow4afp8, which this collector has no path for). A mixed export that lists an attention module (self_attn.*) inquantized_layersraises as well, because the DSA module label assumes BF16 attention projections and cannot describe such an export. The existing branches are unchanged, so the DeepSeek-V4 NVFP4 bundles (config.jsonquant_method fp8withweight_block_size) keepfp8_block. The loader value staysmodelopt_fp4: at 0.5.14 SGLang rejects it for this export insideServerArgs(model_config.py:1299-1302, 1346-1375@v0.5.14), so a targeted case fails loudly instead of measuring the wrong kernels; from v0.5.15 the parser routes the export tomodelopt_mixedand overridesmodelopt_fp4(model_config.py:1153-1163@v0.5.15,modelopt_quant.py:649-654@v0.5.17), which is the model card's serving flag. The SM guard, its message andload_quantizationare not touched (follow-ups: AISIM-2177, AISIM-2178).Consumers: the SGLang MLA/DSA module collection plan and
load_model_runner. No perf-row schema, filename or SDK change. Operator note: at the pinned 0.5.14, every targeted DSA case ofnvidia/GLM-5.3-NVFP4with the refreshed bundle fails with SGLang's ownValueErrorby design (the pin cannot load the mixed recipe); that is not a regression of this PR. Real collection of that export waits for the version decision in AISIM-2178, whose upgrade audit should re-derive, for this function, thatmodelopt_fp4is then overridden tomodelopt_mixed(the path turns from a loud failure into live data), the BF16 attention premise of the label, the per-layer methods ofModelOptMixedPrecisionConfig, the section precedence includingcompression_config, thequant_methodgate, the exactMIXED_PRECISIONmatch and the lane tuple.Review map
