Summary

Start the OpenCodex GUI redesign toward the ChefGroep Auth design discipline without copying Auth 1:1.

This first slice establishes the visual foundation only:

  • semantic canvas / paper / raised surface aliases on top of the existing Signaal palette
  • more editorial page hierarchy and spacing
  • solid paper topbar and calmer panel surfaces
  • provider workspace rebuilt visually around a sticky resource rail plus paper detail inspector
  • calmer provider selection, tabs, search/filter surfaces and responsive behavior
  • existing OpenCodex typography, provider identity and operator-console character remain intact

Design boundary

ChefGroep Auth is a reference for hierarchy, spacing, grouped resources, hairline surfaces and state discipline. OpenCodex keeps its own General Sans / JetBrains Mono technical identity. This PR does not import Auth portal art, copper branding or Bricolage identity.

Verification

Exact local head before push:

  • GUI lint: pass
  • GUI tests: 619 pass, 0 fail, 3346 assertions across 135 files
  • GUI production build: pass
  • root typecheck: pass
  • privacy scan: pass
  • git diff --check: pass

The repository pre-push hook intentionally skips heavyweight verification on developer host joep; exact-head GitHub CI remains required before merge.

Follow-up in this draft

Next slices will migrate the larger workspaces in this order:

  1. Provider workspace internals and auth/account presentation
  2. Models
  3. Logs + Traffic
  4. Storage
  5. Usage + Dashboard
  6. app shell and smaller workspaces
  7. landing/docs polish

No merge or production action is part of this draft.
