Doc only. Proposes transposing the archive domain to one list of instants with the spaces inside each (closes the open question in archive-format.md).
Read `docs/design-time-outside-space.md`; the six decisions it needs are at the end. Nothing changes in proteus until they are answered.
Findings that shaped it: the Proteus writer already refuses a collection missing at an instant; `ymf_archive_version` (1) and Proteus's `METADATA_FORMAT_VERSION` (2) are different numbers and only the first needs to move; an instant becomes the atomic unit of a live append.
