build(lean): move the toolchain from v4.13.0 to v4.35.0 - #65
hyperpolymath/marches rung 3d imports TropicalAdapterPath.lean as a lake dependency (decided 2026-10-14: depend, tracking latest; never paraphrase it). marches builds on leanprover/lean4:v4.35.0, the estate floor, so this package must build there first.
What changed
lean-toolchain → leanprover/lean4:v4.35.0. No statement changes. Seven proof edits, all core-API drift between 4.13 and 4.35:
Site
v4.35 change
Fix
TropicalAdapterPath ×2, Resource/Closure ×4
List.not_mem_nil, List.mem_cons_self, List.mem_map_of_mem take element/function args implicitly
drop the explicit args ((f := Fin.succ) named)
tcJoin_concorde_left
Nat.max_def unfolds to an if that omega can't see through
core Nat.add_max_add_* / add_min_add_* simp lemmas run against the local helpers → simp loops
simp only [..] keeps the helper, drops the conflicting defaults
Version mentions that state the current pin move to 4.35.0. Dated records stay as written: CHANGELOG (generated), AFFIRMATION's environment snapshot, the 2026-06-11 audit, and the "4.13 core lacks One" rationale.
Evidence (run locally on v4.35.0)
lake build → Build completed successfully (20 jobs).
lean.yml's axiom audit, extracted verbatim and run → passes: propext / Quot.sound only, no sorry, no Classical.choice.
Against the 2026-06-11 theorem index, every row matches except hub_ceiling: propext → propext, Quot.sound. Its proof text is unchanged; v4.35 core simp closes the pathCost goals by another route. Still within policy, and recorded in docs/LEAN-FORMALIZATION.adoc.
actionlint clean on lean.yml; Asciidoctor warning counts unchanged from main.
lean-toolchain moves to leanprover/lean4:v4.35.0, the estate floor that
hyperpolymath/marches builds on, so marches can depend on this package
(its ROADMAP rung 3d) instead of paraphrasing TropicalAdapterPath.lean.
No statement changes. Seven proof edits, all to core-API drift between
4.13 and 4.35:
- List.not_mem_nil, List.mem_cons_self and List.mem_map_of_mem now take
their element and function arguments implicitly (TropicalAdapterPath
x2, Resource/Closure x4).
- tcJoin_concorde_left: Nat.max_def now unfolds to an `if` omega cannot
see through; `cases c <;> rfl` closes the four concrete goals.
- left/right_distrib_trop and MinPlus left/right_distrib: core now has
Nat.add_max_add_* / add_min_add_* simp lemmas oriented against the
local helpers, so `simp [.., helper]` looped; `simp only` keeps the
helper and drops the conflicting defaults.
Version mentions that state the current pin move to 4.35.0; the dated
records (CHANGELOG, AFFIRMATION environment, the 2026-06-11 audit) stay.
Gates on v4.35.0: lake build → Build completed successfully (20 jobs);
lean.yml's axiom audit, run verbatim, passes (propext/Quot.sound only).
Against the 2026-06-11 index only hub_ceiling changed (propext →
propext, Quot.sound), from core simp, not from these edits; recorded in
docs/LEAN-FORMALIZATION.adoc.

The new re-audit records propext, Quot.sound for hub_ceiling, but Line 145 still says the theorem depends only on propext. Update this current description. Keep the dated 2026-06-11 theorem index as a historical record. (github.com)

#62 (D243) renamed the secret-scanner caller job from `secret-scan` to
`scan`, so it publishes `scan / gitleaks`, `scan / rust-secrets` and
`scan / shell-secrets`. .machine_readable/CI-CONTEXTS.a2ml still named
the old caller, and `Required contexts are producible` has been red on
main since (CONTRACT BROKEN: 'no longer defines caller job secret-scan').
The contract and the docs table now name the caller as it is.
Reproduced: tools/check-ci-contexts.sh . --no-network → CONTRACT BROKEN,
rc=1. After: contract intact, rc=0.

Required contexts are producible (red on 226c9e1) is not this PR's. It has been red on main since #62 renamed the secret-scanner caller job secret-scan → scan without updating .machine_readable/CI-CONTEXTS.a2ml (CONTRACT BROKEN: … no longer defines caller job 'secret-scan'). The fix is #66 (three lines: the contract and its docs row now name scan). It is ported here as 4a568b1 and becomes a no-op once #66 merges. Locally, tools/check-ci-contexts.sh . --no-network gives CONTRACT BROKEN (rc=1) before the fix and contract intact (rc=0) after.
CodeRabbit's outside-diff finding (docs/LEAN-FORMALIZATION.adoc:145) is fixed in 6a2a657. The narrative line now says propext and Quot.sound on 4.35.0, and the dated 2026-06-11 index is left as the historical record.
lake build is still green on the new head (20 jobs).
No CI/CD pipeline failures were detected for the current commit. If other checks (security scans, code quality, etc.) are failing, those require separate attention.
## Summary
`Required contexts are producible` has been red on `main` since #62
(2026-10-01). That PR (D243) renamed the secret-scanner caller job from
`secret-scan` to `scan`, but `.machine_readable/CI-CONTEXTS.a2ml` still
declares the old caller:
```
::error::.github/workflows/secret-scanner.yml no longer defines caller job 'secret-scan' …
check-ci-contexts: CONTRACT BROKEN
```
This changes the contract's `caller-job-id` and `published-contexts`,
plus the matching row in `docs/CI-CONTEXTS.adoc`, to `scan` / `scan /
gitleaks|rust-secrets|shell-secrets`. Three lines in two files. No
workflow is changed.
## Type of change
- [x] 🐛 Bug fix (non-breaking change that fixes an issue)
- [x] 🔧 Build / CI / tooling
## How has this been verified?
- `bash tools/check-ci-contexts.sh . --no-network` on `main`'s tree →
`CONTRACT BROKEN`, rc=1 (reproduced)
- the same command after this change → `check-ci-contexts: contract
intact`, rc=0
## Notes for reviewers
The same commit is ported into #65 (Lean v4.35.0 move), which hits this
pre-existing red. Once this merges, the port is a no-op there.

## Rung 3d: the estate's tropical proofs, imported
**Depends on
[hyperpolymath/tropical-types#65](hyperpolymath/tropical-types#65
(moves tropical-types to Lean v4.35.0). This PR pins #65's head
`226c9e1` so CI exercises the real dependency. **Re-pin to #65's merge
commit before merging**: one sed of the SHA across `lakefile.toml`,
`lake-manifest.json`, `scripts/fetch-siblings.sh` and the correspondence
pin table.
### What
- `lakefile.toml` `require`s `tropical-resource-typing` at a full
commit. `scripts/fetch-siblings.sh` pins the same commit.
- New `Marches/TropicalAdapter.lean` imports `TropicalAdapterPath` and
**re-states none of it**. It connects upstream to rung 3e through
upstream's own theorems:
| Name | Statement |
|---|---|
| `bottleneck` | upstream's min-max `⊗` (`tcMul`, unit `tcOne`) is a
marches `Grade`, by upstream's laws |
| `pathCost_eq_accum` | upstream's `pathCost` **is** `Grade.accum` of
transport grades |
| `pathCost_append_via_accum` | upstream's concatenation law recovered
from marches' `accum_append` |
| `carried_floor` | `hub_ceiling`, read as provenance |
| `bottleneck_carries_unit` | a non-empty path can carry `𝟙`, so this
grade gives **no** loop-freedom (contrast `carried_cons_ne_one`) |
- `track-siblings.yml`: a tropical-types re-pin also moves
`lakefile.toml` and `lake-manifest.json`, so the re-check builds marches
against the new HEAD. A failed re-check now restores the pins and files
an issue; before, it exited red with no issue.
- KC-13 is the one mechanical **link** in the correspondence table (both
sides Lean, imported).
### Evidence (verbatim in `STATE.adoc`)
- `lake build` → `Build completed successfully (19 jobs).`; `grep -rnw
sorry` empty; `#eval orbit` unchanged
- `scripts/check-correspondence.sh` → `PASS: 28 Lean names and 22
sibling names exist at the pins; both negative controls refused`
- `#print axioms`: the five new declarations carry exactly the
footprints of the upstream lemmas they use (`propext`, `Quot.sound`).
marches adds no axioms, and the 20 rung-3e declarations still report
none.
- **Negative control:** pointing the lake pin at the old v4.13-only
`e172f8a` re-materialises it and fails the build; restoring the pin
builds green.
- actionlint and shellcheck clean (including the workflow's extracted
run block); Asciidoctor warning counts unchanged.
Rung 3 stays OPEN on 3f (postern still not found); no tag.
