Rung 3d: the estate's tropical proofs, imported

Depends on hyperpolymath/tropical-types#65 (moves tropical-types to Lean v4.35.0). This PR pins #65's head 226c9e1 so CI exercises the real dependency. Re-pin to #65's merge commit before merging: one sed of the SHA across lakefile.toml, lake-manifest.json, scripts/fetch-siblings.sh and the correspondence pin table.

What

  • lakefile.toml requires tropical-resource-typing at a full commit. scripts/fetch-siblings.sh pins the same commit.
  • New Marches/TropicalAdapter.lean imports TropicalAdapterPath and re-states none of it. It connects upstream to rung 3e through upstream's own theorems:
Name Statement
bottleneck upstream's min-max ⊗ (tcMul, unit tcOne) is a marches Grade, by upstream's laws
pathCost_eq_accum upstream's pathCost is Grade.accum of transport grades
pathCost_append_via_accum upstream's concatenation law recovered from marches' accum_append
carried_floor hub_ceiling, read as provenance
bottleneck_carries_unit a non-empty path can carry 𝟙, so this grade gives no loop-freedom (contrast carried_cons_ne_one)
  • track-siblings.yml: a tropical-types re-pin also moves lakefile.toml and lake-manifest.json, so the re-check builds marches against the new HEAD. A failed re-check now restores the pins and files an issue; before, it exited red with no issue.
  • KC-13 is the one mechanical link in the correspondence table (both sides Lean, imported).

Evidence (verbatim in STATE.adoc)

  • lake build → Build completed successfully (19 jobs).; grep -rnw sorry empty; #eval orbit unchanged
  • scripts/check-correspondence.sh → PASS: 28 Lean names and 22 sibling names exist at the pins; both negative controls refused
  • #print axioms: the five new declarations carry exactly the footprints of the upstream lemmas they use (propext, Quot.sound). marches adds no axioms, and the 20 rung-3e declarations still report none.
  • Negative control: pointing the lake pin at the old v4.13-only e172f8a re-materialises it and fails the build; restoring the pin builds green.
  • actionlint and shellcheck clean (including the workflow's extracted run block); Asciidoctor warning counts unchanged.

Rung 3 stays OPEN on 3f (postern still not found); no tag.

Generated by Claude Code

lakefile.toml requires tropical-types (lake package
tropical-resource-typing) at a full commit, and the new
Marches/TropicalAdapter.lean imports TropicalAdapterPath without
re-stating any of it. It connects upstream to rung 3e through upstream's
own theorems: the min-max ⊗ is a marches Grade (bottleneck), upstream's
pathCost is that grade's accumulation (pathCost_eq_accum), hub_ceiling
floors it (carried_floor), and a non-empty path can carry 𝟙, so this
grade gives no loop-freedom (bottleneck_carries_unit).

The pin is hyperpolymath/tropical-types#65's head 226c9e1 (that PR moves
tropical-types to Lean v4.35.0); fetch-siblings.sh pins the same commit.
Re-pin both to #65's merge commit before merging.

track-siblings.yml now moves lakefile.toml and lake-manifest.json with
the tropical-types pin, and a failed re-check restores the pins and
files an issue instead of exiting red. Negative control: a lake pin at
e172f8a (v4.13-only) is re-materialised and fails the build.

KC-13 records the one mechanical LINK in the correspondence table.

Gates: lake build green (19 jobs); grep -rnw sorry empty; #eval orbit
unchanged; check-correspondence.sh PASS (28 Lean, 22 sibling names).
#print axioms: the five new declarations carry exactly the upstream
lemmas' footprints (propext, Quot.sound); marches adds none. No tag:
3f (postern) still open.

📝 Summary

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features

    • Added an adapter that connects tropical path costs with Marches grades, including results for combining paths and bounding the grade of items along a path.
    • Added a finite example showing that the bottleneck grade does not guarantee loop-freedom.
  • Documentation

    • Updated project status, module and correspondence documentation to describe the adapter, its verified build and its limitations.

The change pins tropical-types as a Lake dependency and adds a Marches adapter for its path costs. The adapter proves their correspondence with a bottleneck grade. The sibling-tracking workflow updates and validates the related pins, and project records document the adapter and its limits.

Changes: Tropical adapter and pin tracking

Layer / File(s) Summary
Pin the tropical-types dependency
lakefile.toml, lake-manifest.json, scripts/fetch-siblings.sh, docs/kcut-correspondence.adoc
The Lake requirement, manifest, sibling-fetch default, and correspondence document use revision 226c9e191e0ab966f094a6394f0958cdc28254e0.
Connect path costs to Marches grades
Marches/TropicalAdapter.lean, Marches.lean, Marches/Tropical.lean, docs/kcut-correspondence.adoc, README.adoc
The adapter defines a bottleneck grade and proves its path-cost correspondence, concatenation rule, member-grade bound, and singleton Concorde result. Marches imports the adapter. Documentation records the correspondence and that the grade does not establish loop-freedom.
Validate and record re-pins
.github/workflows/track-siblings.yml, ROADMAP.adoc, STATE.adoc
The workflow updates the related pins after a successful correspondence check, then reruns the check. If the recheck fails, it restores tracked changes and follows the issue-reporting path. The project records the build, check, and re-pin status.

The weekly re-pin workflow builds a not-yet-reviewed upstream revision in a job that can write to the repository, so a compromised upstream could misuse that access. Move the candidate build into a read-only job before merging. The README build instructions also still say "no dependencies" and need updating.

Update the build prerequisites.

The new tropical-resource-typing requirement makes both “no dependencies” statements false. A fresh lake build now needs to fetch that dependency. Remove those statements and identify the network prerequisite in the build section. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Build candidate dependencies without the write-capable token.

When tropical-types HEAD changes, this re-check builds its unreviewed Lake package while the job exposes GH_TOKEN with write permissions. A malicious upstream build configuration or build target can access that token before the proposed re-pin receives review. Run the candidate build in a separate read-only job without the automation token. Grant write permissions only to the later job that files the issue or opens the PR. (raw.githubusercontent.com)
