fix: reject undecodable images, let zero-budget keys shadow wildcards 🐛 - #57
Conversation
* fix(llm): fully decode prompt images and reject malformed ones as INVALID_IMAGE 🐛 * perf(llm): stream PNG rows instead of holding the bitmap ⚡️ * build(deps): drop default image features ➖ * fix(executor): require free memory before exec_prompt 🔒️ A malformed image used to reach every provider, fail, and end as a fatal NO_PROVIDER_FOR_PROMPT; it is now an error the contract can catch

Merge Risk: ⚪ Minimal · up to The change adds bounded image validation and a gated fast-forward command. No merge-blocking issue was identified; the only remaining item is a minor wording fix in the PR guide. Security Architecture ReviewSecurity architecture risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to The new fast-forward command has strong identity and commit-safety controls, but approval and check decisions can become stale before the privileged push. Its mandatory E2E producer constraint also depends on how branch rules name that check. These issues affect shared development branches and, for administrators, release branches. Retained concerns

A writer with another writer's approval of the head, or an admin, can move a dev branch to the PR head once E2E and the base's required checks pass. The push uses the manager deploy key, so the tool enforces what the rulesets would: linear history, no fork PRs, release branches admin-only, and unknown rules refused
- Bump both executor lines to wasmtime v48.0.3, which fixes GHSA-jqpg-j7w6-42pr and GHSA-m63x-6p34-q65x; neither is reachable, as the executor runs without fuel and outside the component model
- Consensus resolves internal allocation keys by presence: an exact key with no budget left still wins over a funded `call_key` wildcard, its phase still decides, and emission fails with `out_of message_fee allocation_budget internal` - External messages keep treating zero-budget chain keys as absent - Describe the split in the fee impl-spec and the manager API schema Co-authored-by: Edgars <edgars@genlayerlabs.com>
… 24 ⬆️ - puppeteer-core 25 no longer pulls `extract-zip` or the `proxy-agent` stack, clearing every open npm advisory in the webdriver lock (`extract-zip`, `ip-address`, `basic-ftp`, `ws`) - It needs Node 22.12 or newer; the image moves from Node 20, which is past end of life, to Node 24 LTS
- A zero-budget exact key fails with `allocation_budget` only when its phase matches; otherwise no allocation matches - Pin a zero-budget recipient wildcard shadowing a synthetic wildcard on the internal path

Fix the grammar of gate 3.
The phrase "every check the base requires succeeded" reads as a double verb. Reword it.

robo-kp2pml30: valid nit, deferred. The sentence parses as a reduced relative clause, and a docs-only push now would invalidate the green E2E on e4252e5. It will go in with the next change to this page

@kp2pml30 Understood. This is a clarity nit, not a grammar error. Deferring it until the next page change avoids invalidating the green E2E result.

Closes #52
Problem and outcome
exec_promptonly sniffed the image header. A file with a valid PNG/JPEG magic and a garbage body reached every provider, each answered 400, and the call ended in a fatalNO_PROVIDER_FOR_PROMPT. The manager now fully decodes every prompt image off the async runtime and rejects one that does not decode, or exceeds 8000 px per side, with a non-fatalINVALID_IMAGEthe contract can catch. The header sniff is unchangedpngcrate row by row (withEXPAND, which rejects a palette image withoutPLTE), so memory stays a few rows whatever the declared size. JPEG goes throughimagewith side and allocation limits and holds the bitmapexec_promptnow fails with out-of-memory when less thanEXEC_PROMPT_MIN_SPACE(128 MiB) of the contract budget is left, as web calls already do.
