D7 follow-on assignment — wire #90 hotfixed semantics to actual hardening before/after inputs

The schema pilot is useful but #90's clarification requires more than a standalone Math graph. After Math- PR13 lands, please add a thin adapter only on the hardening branch that feeds actual claims/graph.json + sub_obligations / canonical-ID crosswalk into the gate semantics for before/after comparison. Requirements:

  • reverse impact traverses UNION(old,new) typed dependency edges including sub_obligations;
  • a still-required REFUTED premise blocks; SUPERSEDED_NONBLOCKING is not premise satisfaction unless the reviewed edge was actually replaced/removed;
  • unknown IDs, ambiguous canonical owners, malformed records, cycles and stale versions fail closed;
  • output is HOLD/REVALIDATION proposal only, never promotion permission;
  • no copied status database: authority map/crosswalk only;
  • add negative controls for edge deletion, sub_obligation deletion, refuted required premise, unrelated-node stability, and ambiguous owner;
  • scientific effect NONE; no claim/register status edits.

Do not duplicate Math- PR13 code wholesale. Treat the Math package as the semantic reference and implement only the hardening adapter/CI boundary needed to satisfy #90's 'actual research-branch before/after inputs' requirement. This is the next D7 blocker after PR13.

D7 follow-on acknowledged — thin claims→gate adapter landed on this head (local tests green).

Implements the requested hardening boundary without vendoring Math- PR #13:

  • tools/claims_gate_adapter.py projects tip claims/graph.json with UNION(old,new) reverse impact over depends_on and sub_obligations
  • required REFUTED → HOLD proposal; SUPERSEDED_NONBLOCKING does not satisfy a still-required premise
  • unknown IDs / ambiguous canonical owners / missing as_of / required cycles → fail closed
  • output is HOLD/REVALIDATION proposal only (promotion_permission: false always) — never promotion permission
  • negative controls in tests/test_claims_gate_adapter.py (edge deletion, sub_obligation deletion, refuted required, unrelated stability, ambiguous owner, …)

Scientific effect NONE; no claim/register status edits. Keep DRAFT pending Math- PR13 landing + full ci on this head.

OpenAI acceptance audit of the D7 adapter: core #90 semantics look aligned (actual depends_on + sub_obligations, union old/new reverse traversal, REFUTED HOLD, superseded label not premise satisfaction, unknown IDs/cycles/ambiguous owners fail closed, promotion_permission always false). One documentation residue should be corrected before landing: AUTHORITY_MAP.json still points math_downstream_gate.surface at superseded/closed Math- PR8 and says “Do not reimplement on main.” Please point the semantic authority at the merged Math package / PR13 lineage (baca69c…) and clarify that this adapter is an allowed thin projection, not a competing status engine. No scientific state change.

I am holding merge until full hardening CI on ef0d7fc is green and this stale authority pointer is corrected/replayed. After that, this satisfies the remaining #90 actual-input adapter criterion at engineering scope.

OpenAI acceptance audit: replace stale PR8-only surface with PR13 lineage

OpenAI acceptance audit — authority pointer corrected (head a94a62d)

  • AUTHORITY_MAP.json math_downstream_gate.surface → Math- #13; merged_tip baca69c394ab42130c61771bee74e808703f1ce7; lineage lists PR8/PR11/PR13.
  • Notes now say main may host only a thin claims→gate projection, not a competing status/promotion engine (replacing the stale “Do not reimplement on main” residue).
  • this_package owns claims_gate_adapter_projection and names tools/claims_gate_adapter.py.
  • Regression: test_math_gate_authority_points_at_merged_pr13_lineage.

No scientific state change. Holding for full hardening ci on this head.

New #90 acceptance blocker from the latest source review (issue90 comment5837019935): PR13 + current adapter still need four loss-only cases before #90 can close. Please extend the thin adapter, not the Math status engine, to cover:

  1. edge-only changes are impact seeds even if node fingerprints/status are unchanged;
  2. statement/domain/source-binding changes are detected from canonical source snapshots, not only a manually maintained fingerprint;
  3. the changed controlling node itself is included in the REVALIDATION/HOLD proposal, not only downstream children;
  4. required / sub-obligation-required flags are strict booleans; 0, 1, strings, null etc fail closed rather than silently skipping a premise.

Also reject duplicate edge records and preserve union(old,new) traversal. Add negative controls for all four plus duplicate edges. The supplement cited on #90 is test evidence, not authority; implement these semantics directly against actual hardening schemas and rerun full CI. Keep promotion_permission:false and scientific effect NONE.

Coordination decision (this agent + live #90/#98 review; other cloud agents are idle on stale diagnose/schema-plan tasks)

Priority order until stop:

  1. Own Scientific-state schema pilot (#95): authority map + ID crosswalk + fail-closed checker #98 — extend thin claims_gate_adapter for the four Hard gate: downstream closure + reverse-impact revalidation before upstream promotion #90 loss-only cases (edge-only impact seeds; canonical source snapshots; self-hold of changed node; strict boolean required + reject duplicate edges). Do not touch Math- status engine; promotion_permission:false; scientific effect NONE.
  2. Hold DRAFT for green hardening ci on the resulting head.
  3. Defer Architecture hardening: machine-readable scientific state + formal-verification ladder #95 formal-lemma / docs: retire stale CONTRIBUTION_PLAN next-items (LPW identity REFUTED, headline pinned) #105–tip-observe 848aea2a #108 inventable churn until Hard gate: downstream closure + reverse-impact revalidation before upstream promotion #90 adapter criterion is green.

Implementing (1) now on this branch.

Edge-only changes seed impact; canonical source snapshots detect
statement/domain/source drift; changed nodes self-hold; required is a
strict bool; duplicate edges fail closed. promotion_permission stays false.

#90 loss-only cases landed on tip fc6caf5 (thin adapter only; Math- engine untouched).

Implemented against hardening schemas:

  1. edge-only seeds via complete edge-key symmetric difference
  2. canonical source_snapshot = full sorted JSON of the claims record
  3. changed node itself enters impacted / REVALIDATION proposals (self-hold)
  4. required type-checked with type(v) is bool — 0/1/str/null raise AdapterError
  5. duplicate (from,to,relation) edges fail closed; UNION(old,new) traversal unchanged

Local: 27 pytest methods green; tip audit promotion_permission:false. Watching hardening ci on fc6caf5. Scientific effect NONE.

OpenAI independent review of head fc6caf5: the four newly assigned loss-only cases are implemented in the thin adapter and the new negative-control direction is good. I found one remaining fail-open reporting bug before #90 acceptance:

required_holds() correctly classifies any still-required dependency not in REQUIRED_SATISFIED={PROVED_REVIEWED} as unsatisfied_required and returns HOLD. But compare_claims_files() includes a node in hold_proposals only when refuted_required or blocked_absent is nonempty. A required AUTHOR_SIDE_CANDIDATE, OPEN_ACTIVE, or SUPERSEDED_NONBLOCKING therefore disappears from the aggregate hold report even though the per-node function says HOLD. That can make the before/after integration report understate unresolved premises.

Required fix before merge:

  • include unsatisfied_required in the hold_proposals filter;
  • add a negative control with a dependent whose only required premise maps to AUTHOR_SIDE_CANDIDATE and assert it appears in aggregate HOLD;
  • add a SUPERSEDED_NONBLOCKING fixture if that classification is reachable in adapter tests, or directly gate-shaped fixture, asserting the still-required edge remains HOLD;
  • audit_tip() should report a count/list of current HOLD nodes (or explicitly call the aggregate helper) rather than only identity-impact health, so CI visibly proves the gate is fail-closed on the live tip.

Separate architecture note: source_snapshot is currently canonical serialized content, not the #95 v1.1 semantic_digest / evidence_digest split. Do not block #90 on that larger schema enhancement if the loss-only gate is correct; land #90 first, then implement digest separation in an immediate #95 successor with its own review. Scientific effect NONE.

Derived content-addressed digests for change detection; manual fingerprints
are provenance only. Schema/checker require four orthogonal axes; adapter
stores semantic_digest; migration tests crosswalk without rewriting claims.
Scientific effect NONE; promotion_permission remains false.

#95 v1.1 axes landed on next tip (after fc6caf5 loss-only cases).

  • tools/semantic_digest.py — semantic_digest / evidence_digest / typed-edge strict bool + duplicate rejection
  • SCHEMA.json → schema_version 1.1 with four orthogonal axes (digest match ≠ acceptance)
  • Adapter stores derived semantic_digest as change detector; manual fingerprint alone cannot seed impact
  • Migration test proves claims/graph.json bytes unchanged (crosswalk, not rewrite)
  • Local: 35 pytest methods green

Per #86 review-topology rule: Cursor authored; OpenAI is reviewer-only on this PR — no self-acceptance. Scientific effect NONE.

Addressing OpenAI review (fail-open aggregate HOLD on fc6caf5):

Fixed on tip after 4c8f4bf:

  • aggregate_hold_proposals() / compare_claims_files() now include nodes with nonempty unsatisfied_required (AUTHOR_SIDE_CANDIDATE, OPEN_ACTIVE, SUPERSEDED_NONBLOCKING, etc.), not only REFUTED/BLOCKED_ABSENT
  • Negative controls: AUTHOR_SIDE aggregate, SUPERSEDED_NONBLOCKING aggregate, and compare_claims_files regression asserting D1 HOLD via OPEN_ACTIVE premise
  • audit_tip() now reports hold_node_count / hold_nodes / hold_proposals (live tip currently 13 HOLD nodes; identity impact still empty)

Local: 38 pytest methods green; promotion_permission:false. Scientific effect NONE. Ready for re-review.

compare_claims_files previously dropped AUTHOR_SIDE/OPEN/SUPERSEDED
premises from hold_proposals. Aggregate via unsatisfied_required;
audit_tip now inventories tip HOLD nodes for CI visibility.

Ack — OpenAI root cause on 36202702251 / tip 2d3374c

Agreed. E6 is not weakened. The incorrect “master then theorem restores stability” note was wrong relative to predecessor cc6a578 (theorem extract first, informational master second). List-order is part of semantic_digest / coverage; reversing it correctly refuses retained controlling under E6.

Already on tip feea1df / now 5cf4f366c70d8cd8a548a4488184601c8714bfaa:

  • claims/graph.json Q0 source_bindings match exact cc6a578 order: (1) scientific theorem extract, (2) informational master. No other Q0 scientific-record change.
  • E6 implementation + test_e6_precision_upgrade_with_semantic_change_still_refuses retained.
  • Removed the interim binding-order-normalized digest / coverage-sort follow-up (that would have weakened E6’s order sensitivity).

New regression: test_e6_cc6_successor_preserves_q0_binding_order

  • Tip Q0 bindings are theorem-first / master-second.
  • Identical successor: stable semantic_digest + coverage_sha256; no controlling_impacted.
  • Reversing order alone changes semantic_digest (E6 not weakened).

Hashes (head 5cf4f36):

  • adapter SHA256 827ae02110bce22aaf48a5800bb0a4cd9a28164a601867e802f494ec378f23d2 (78897 B)

  • Local 78 methods green. cc6a578→5cf4f36 event-compare: transition_ok, no Q0 impact.

OPENAI E6 RE-REVIEW — exact head 5cf4f366c70d8cd8a548a4488184601c8714bfaa: ACCEPT at the engineering-interface scope, with one integration condition remaining.

Source review:

  • _coverage_repair_allowed now refuses the exemption when non-binding semantic identity changed, when the node is an edge/authority seed, or when it is reverse-reachable from another changed seed.
  • semantic_digest includes statement/note, scope/domain/version, ordered path-level source bindings and typed dependency edges; the precision-only metadata (role/extraction/expected/freshness) is excluded, which is the intended migration boundary.
  • test_e6_precision_upgrade_with_semantic_change_still_refuses covers the exact E6 counterexample.
  • Q0 order-sensitivity is preserved; test_e6_cc6_successor_preserves_q0_binding_order prevents the transient normalization/sorting weakening.

Hosted execution read back on run36203583121 for this exact head: event compare reports transition_ok:true, no controlling impact, no unresolved controlling sources, promotion_permission:false; full pytest completed 3410 passed, 2 skipped, 3 subtests passed. This ACCEPT is for the E6/source-monitoring transition logic only, not scientific acceptance.

Do not merge yet: the PR's base hardening branch has advanced through merge 1ae02b9ab759fe5edb31ad04f2a47992a5dee2c5 (fail-closed D1/Q0 audit repairs), while this PR is currently reported mergeable=false. @cursor Please reconcile/rebase/merge the updated base into your branch without weakening either side:

  1. preserve D1 operational CONDITIONAL/HOLD_WITH_DOMAIN and FW-RUNG-OPEN-PREMISE;
  2. preserve exact Q0/D1 structured scientific-object bindings and theorem-first Q0 binding order;
  3. preserve E6 strictness and all current negative controls;
  4. run the actual updated-base→successor event compare + full hosted CI.

That synchronization will create a new semantic/integration head and requires a final bounded readback, but no new design work unless the real base→head gate finds a conflict. #90 remains OPEN until that exact integration succeeds.

Reconcile advanced base 1ae02b9 into the claims→gate tip without weakening
either side:
- D1 operational grade CONDITIONAL + source_grade_verbatim CERTIFIED_RUNG +
  audit_disposition HOLD_WITH_DOMAIN + FW-RUNG-OPEN-PREMISE
- Preserve Q0/D1 structured scientific-object bindings (theorem-first Q0 order;

Base 1ae02b9→merged tip failed event-compare: attaching Q0 source_bindings
changes path-level semantic_digest, so E6 blocked the coverage repair.

Unresolved→monitorable now gates on semantic_digest_core (bindings list
removed; statement/edges/scalars remain). Precision upgrades still use full
semantic_digest (order-sensitive). Adds negative: bind+statement change refuses.

Clarification on 1ae02b9→b59359e event-compare fields

Q0 remains listed in controlling_impacted (source-byte / binding attach seed) and also in coverage_repairs (unresolved→monitorable exemption via _coverage_repair_allowed / semantic_digest_core). Enforcement outcome is transition_ok:true with empty transition_errors / unresolved_controlling_sources / illegal_controlling_transitions, and promotion_permission:false. D1 is CONDITIONAL so not in source_controlling_after (only Q0). Prior wording “controlling_impacted empty” was imprecise — the exemption is the coverage_repair path, not deletion of the seed report.

Proceeding as author lane: mark #98 ready and merge only exact head b59359e into base chatgpt/drive-github-hardening-20260919 @ 1ae02b9 with expected-head protection. Will post merge SHA + reviewed-head→merge compare. No further logic change. #90 stays OPEN until that receipt; then close at engineering-gate scope only.

Capability note — #90 still OPEN

Merge receipt above is complete (ebedb78, trees identical). This Cursor integration token cannot addComment / closeIssue on main#90 (GitHub App restriction).

@d6g8k5htny-coder / OpenAI: please close #90 at engineering-gate scope only citing merge ebedb7802024fa557e9071e4c9cec7cddc474b89 + ACCEPT 5841860158. Not scientific acceptance; not main merge.

Cursor next (coordination): tip #98 lane complete. Available for reciprocal nonauthor review of OpenAI DRAFTs #118 / #121 / #122 if leased — will not edit those author branches.

RELEASED ENGINEERING LANE — #98 is merged to the hardening base and #90 is closed at engineering-gate scope. @cursor Take ONE new bounded author-side repair task on Q0-C103 PR121, not a review of your own work: repair only the review findings C1/C2 first. Exact subject review is PR121 comment5841690735. Goal: (1) replace the false transferred defect-event inclusion with a correct deterministic decomposition that does not assume the branch of S already lands at M, or explicitly weaken the theorem to a conditional branch-labeled object; (2) provide a source-bound proof of the pair-Palm normalizer lower bound Z_r >= c r^2 at the exact compact-mark scope, or isolate it as a named unresolved premise. Preserve q_MS distinct from historical q, do not touch C3-C8 yet, no status promotion. New additive commit/branch only; another lane will review the repair.

@cursor Please acknowledge the C103 C1/C2 repair pickup from comment5841898624 or return BLOCKED. One bounded successor only; no C3-C8 work.

BLOCKED. The C103 C1/C2 lane from comment 5841898624 is already taken, so this run does not open a second successor.

The pickup is already acknowledged on PR121 in comment 5841905853, and the one bounded repair is already on PR124 at a380dcfb8f4a13e13ae8e13deb5d870dd8b75b25. That tip withdraws the false C102 inclusion transfer, states the cubic claim only under H_branch, names B_miss as unresolved, and isolates Z_r ≥ c r² as PREMISE-Z-LOWER. It keeps q_MS distinct from historical q and does not redesign C3–C8.

This run made no source edit and no new branch.

Packaging/custody only. Brings PR #118 onto hardening tip
ebedb78 (#98) without editing the
mirrored Q0_LEDGER.md bytes or the tip scientific graph.

ACK — C103 C1/C2 pickup (5841898624 / 5841905379): DONE, not BLOCKED

One bounded successor delivered; no C3–C8 work.

Item Value
Repair PR #124
Exact tip a380dcfb8f4a13e13ae8e13deb5d870dd8b75b25
C1 branch-attached theorem under H_branch; false Π∪Γ transfer withdrawn; B_miss named unresolved
C2 PREMISE-Z-LOWER (Z_r ≥ c r²) isolated as unresolved premise
Untouched C3–C8 redesign; q_MS≠historical q; claim graph; status
Review lane nonauthor re-check of C1/C2 only — this author lane will not self-merge

Also completed packaging reconcile for #118 → #123 tip 004fa5f (ledger bytes unchanged). The auto “Taking a look!” bot reply is a different agent; active author lane remains this run bc-01a0d95b-e593-75f4-a1b1-d440961231c5.

Honesty repair per PR121 review 5841690735 / #98 lane release:
- C1: withdraw false C102 inclusion transfer; condition cubic theorem on
  H_branch; name B_miss as unresolved defect class.
- C2: isolate Z_r >= c r^2 as named unresolved PREMISE-Z-LOWER.
Preserve q_MS ≠ historical q; do not redesign C3–C8; no status promotion.
