- Around line 739-746: Update finalize_worker_removal to remove wid from
workers_with_configs when it is still eligible, and publish the updated
collection through workers_tx only when a removal occurs. Preserve the existing
slot unregistration and indexer tree cleanup behavior.
Review comments at @lib/bindings/python/tests/test_offline_router_policy.py:

appropriate for the sleep and subprocess work.

Previously reported defects still present:
- Original discussion: The Python test module still declares only
unitandgpu_0, so it lacks the required lifecycle marker and may be deselected from its intended pre-merge stage; the wall-clock sleep and subprocess cases also still lack pytest timeout markers. - Original discussion: The reported direct-
worker_removeddefect remains:finalize_worker_removalunregisters slots and clears the radix tree without removing the worker fromworkers_with_configsor publishing the updated selector membership, so a removed worker remains selectable unless the host previously sentworker_draining. - Original discussion: Verified at the reviewed head:
worker_removedaccepts any known worker, butfinalize_worker_removaldoes not remove it fromworkers_with_configsor publish the updated worker set. Callingworker_removedwithoutworker_drainingtherefore leaves the removed worker eligible for selection, and later re-adding that ID poisons the handle because its router entry still exists. Remove and publish eligibility during final removal, or require the draining transition first. - Original discussion: Verified still present:
worker_removedis accepted for any known worker, butfinalize_worker_removalunregisters slot/indexer state without removing the worker fromworkers_with_configsor publishing the new selection set. A direct removal can therefore leave the removed worker selectable, and a laterworker_readyfor that ID fails because the internal config still exists, poisoning the handle. Remove and publish the worker during finalization when it remains eligible, or require a preceding draining transition.

This comment merely expands NativeRouterEngineArgs; the private struct name and its capacity/topology fields already convey the same information, with no invariant or constraint added.

There was a problem hiding this comment.
Aborting an admitted request frees its scheduler booking, and free_if_booking notifies queued admissions that capacity changed, but this path neither polls those admissions nor schedules a wakeup for routers without affinity (next_wakeup_ms only consults affinity.ready). Such a response can therefore report pending_count > 0 with next_wakeup_ms: null, leaving the newly ready placement stranded under the documented wakeup-driven host loop. Drain admissions here or expose an immediate non-affinity wakeup after the free.
🤖 AI Fix
Make dispatch_aborted arrange an immediate poll of newly woken admissions for every router, either by returning the released placements or by setting a general wakeup flag consumed by advance_clock.

These lines restate the test name and the immediately visible setup: two identical requests are placed and their independent decode load is asserted. They add no non-obvious reason or constraint.

Could we clarify why conversation-aware replay needs these new fine-grained Python bindings?
The existing Dynamo replay integration constructs KvReplayComposition in Rust and injects it through AISimulate’s PlacementPolicy interface. With the neutral dispatch/time hooks, I’d expect us to extend that existing Rust adapter to use native affinity.
In the paired AISimulate PR, these bindings are called through an AISimulate-owned Python adapter, introducing Rust → Python → Rust calls for placement, observations and clock updates. That brings back the execution-path concern we discussed earlier in Slack.
Summary
Expose Dynamo's existing scheduler and session-affinity primitives through the existing Python KV bindings in
lib/bindings/python/rust/llm/kv.rs.OfflineRouterdelegates selection, admission, booking and cancellation toLocalScheduler;SessionAffinitydelegates binding, leases and TTL to the native table. ReuseModelRuntimeConfig,RadixTreeand hash bindings. The bindings accept request fields, observations and explicit clock advances. AISimulate owns conversation lineage, role translation, simulation execution and reporting. No simulator dependency or extra wheel is introduced.
The implementation shares the existing binding module; no separate
offline_router.rsis added. Retain #15631's actively used manual-clock and affinity APIs, and return its unused publicPolicyQueue::recheck_all_workersexposure to crate-private visibility. The complete diff is +732/-10 across seven files, including Python declarations and five boundary tests.Merge this API before AISimulate #306, which owns AgentX acceptance. Dynamo #15240 is an optional downstream integration update. No release backport is requested.
