70-70: 🚀 Performance & Scalability | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick winPoll in
accessibility()runs forever, including for hidden windows.
setInterval(accessibility, 1000)runs for the whole life of each webview. The tray popup and main window both run it, even when hidden. Each tick calls the nativeaccessibilitycommand, so it wakes the process every second while idle. The code comment explains that macOS sends accessibility updates outside the focused webview. Pause the timer when
document.hiddenis true and run one check onvisibilitychange. This keeps live updates and removes the idle cost. The
ast-grephint about "setState" is a false positive. Ignore it.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

Review comment at @crates/switchyard-desktop/ui/appearance.js at line 70: Update the timer around accessibility() so polling pauses while document.hidden is true, resumes when the document becomes visible, and performs one accessibility check on each visibilitychange; preserve the existing one-second polling behavior for visible windows.

- Line 133: Update the snapshot command and the setup flow around
TrayPreview::update so tray menu errors are logged with context and ignored
rather than propagated with ?. Preserve successful snapshot return and
application startup when the secondary tray update fails.
- Around line 51-61: Update the model-count merge in TrayPreview::update to call
ModelTokens::add on each classifier overhead instead of manually adding selected
fields, ensuring cache_write is included. Keep the existing ranking and storage
flow unchanged so the stored model IDs match the tray menu labels.
Review comments at @crates/switchyard-desktop/ui/analytics.js:
- Line 132: Update the period.onchange handler to clear analyticsView.model
before calling render(), matching the existing group and search handlers so
changing periods displays unfiltered results.
Review comments at @crates/switchyard-desktop/ui/app.js:
- Around line 465-470: Update the restore review handler around the result check
after preview_restore so a failed preview invokes update() before returning.
Preserve the existing progress clearing and successful-result flow, ensuring the
install preview and apply routing are rebuilt when result is unavailable.
- Line 97: Update the preview error handling in run() so failures from
user-triggered preview actions call notify(String(error), 'error') instead of
showPageErrors(). In routeIdentity, also add the preview failure message to the
dialog form as a field-error when the preview result is undefined, ensuring
users can see it while the modal is open.

Closing this PR in favor of a stack of 39 smaller PRs. The changes from this PR are now in #1113 through #1119. The last PR in the new stack ends in the same code as the old stack, except that |
This PR adds the desktop app and tray on macOS and Windows. Running
switchyard-desktopopens the app;--tuiopens the terminal app, and Linux keeps the printed summary. Both apps use the same controller for routes, harness settings, accounts, sessions, and usage. The terminal app has a key for every action that the desktop app sends, including Open server logs (von Settings); the build and a test from #975 fail if a new action has no terminal key. Appearance and text size are window options, so only the desktop app has them. Thesnapshotcommand returns the controller's typedSnapshot, which serializes to the same JSON keys as before. Local validation did not include native Windows or Linux startup.Overview compares models, routes, and sessions by calls or tokens. Charts use a bundled ECharts build, and tables show exact values, including cache writes. The Routes page supports searchable model choices and lets users review edits before applying them. It ignores model-list replies from an endpoint that is no longer selected. Settings manages server keys through the installed helper.
Pricing settings show the bundled TOML rates when the snapshot's
prices_fileis null. With no override, About model prices explains how to select a custom table without opening an editor or writing a file. With an override, Open model price override retains the existing file-opening action. Invalid explicit files report errors instead of using bundled rates. The tray shows the same summary as the macOS menu bar app on
main: whether the server answers/health, today's and this week's requests, tokens, spending, and savings, and each model's share of this week's tokens. A note explains why savings are missing, for example when the baseline model has no rates. Left-click opens a popup below the icon that uses the system light or dark appearance. Right-click opens the same summary as a native menu. Both list Restart server, Open server config…, Settings…, Connect tools…, Open Switchyard, and Quit Switchyard. The tray rereads the routing log everyrefresh_seconds(at least 5 seconds) with its own reader, so a running app operation does not delay it.switchyard-desktop --printprints the same rows.
