Makes @kikobeats/got depend on the patched cacheable-request, so consumers no longer need an override such as pnpm_config_overrides: '{"@kikobeats/got>cacheable-request":"npm:@kikobeats/cacheable-request"}'. Without it, got resolves upstream cacheable-request@7, which never settles a cached request when the origin keeps the connection alive.

Change

"cacheable-request": "npm:@kikobeats/cacheable-request@^7.0.7": an npm alias, so require('cacheable-request') and @types/cacheable-request stay as they are. ^7.0.7 excludes 7.0.6, whose esbuild postinstall crashes under pnpm 12.

The pinned dev dependency install that would otherwise fail on the alias (ENOVERSIONS, since the fork postdates --before=2021-06-15) is already handled by .github/actions/install from #10, which drops runtime deps for that step.

Merging releases 11.8.9: the commit is fix:, so main.yml runs the release job.

Tested

  • Replayed CI's install with the alias: cacheable-request resolves to @kikobeats/cacheable-request@7.0.7.
  • Consumer check: packed the 11.8.8 tarball with the alias as 11.8.9 and installed it into reachable-url without any override. With pnpm 12.4.2 and npm it resolves @kikobeats/cacheable-request@7.0.7, assertCacheSupport() passes, and 42 index + cache tests pass.

Note

Medium Risk
Changes which HTTP caching implementation ships with the package, affecting cached requests and keep-alive behavior; scope is limited to that dependency swap.

Overview
Swaps the runtime cacheable-request dependency from upstream ^7.0.2 to an npm alias (npm:@kikobeats/cacheable-request@^7.0.7), so installs pull the fork’s fix without consumer-level overrides.

The package name stays cacheable-request, so existing require('cacheable-request') usage and @types/cacheable-request stay unchanged. Pinning ^7.0.7 avoids 7.0.6, which has a problematic esbuild postinstall under newer pnpm.

By default the request asks for a single byte (`Range: bytes=0-0`, which `maxBody` drops when it wants more). When a server ignores that and starts sending the whole entity, the download is cancelled: the status and headers already say whether the URL is reachable, so `body` is `undefined` on those responses unless `maxBody` asked for some of it. A `206` that did answer the range is reported as the `200` it stands for, with `content-length` taken from a numeric `content-range` total. An unknown total (`bytes 0-0/*`) is left as a `206`. ### reachableUrl.isReachable(response) #### response *Required* Type: `object` The response returned by `reachableUrl`, which echoes back `followRedirect` so it can be handed straight over. Use a published alias range.

The repository does not configure a private registry. npm therefore uses the public registry, where @kikobeats/cacheable-request has no version satisfying ^7.0.7; 7.0.6 is the latest published version. The CI install action passes this alias to npm install, so dependency installation fails. Publish 7.0.7, or change the alias to npm:@kikobeats/cacheable-request@^7.0.6. No lockfile update is needed because .npmrc disables package-lock creation and no lockfile is tracked.
