The stdio server sends none. The HTTP endpoint needs devframe to pass the instructions on, which devframe 1.2.5 does not do yet, so an installed package sends none either for now.

### Prompts

The HTTP endpoint also offers *MCP prompts: ready requests for the workflows in the [agent skills](./skills.md). Clients that support prompts usually show them as slash commands. Each prompt has one optional argument and returns a single user message with numbered steps that name the tools to call.

| Prompt | Argument | What it asks the agent to do | Needs |
| ------------------ | ------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | -------------------------- |
| `inspect-page` | `page` | Call `list-pages`, then `snapshot`, and summarize the route, components, errors, HTTP calls and forms. | Always offered |
| `debug-error` | `error` | Find the error with `list-errors`, explain it with `explain-error`, fix the cause and check it stops. | `errors` on for agents |
| `fix-form` | `form` | Explain the form with `explain-form-invalid`, keep a `form-history` marker, fix it and prove it with `form-diff`. | `forms` on for agents |
| `performance-pass` | `interaction` | Record change detection, read `change-detection` and `diagnose-change-detection`, fix one thing and compare. | `components` on for agents |
| `verify-fix` | `fix` | Repeat the calls that showed the problem, compare the answers and check `list-errors` for new errors. | Always offered |

The prompts follow the same config as the tools. A prompt is left out when a tool it needs is off through `inspectors` or `agent.tools`, and its steps leave out the tools that are off. Under `agent.readOnly` or with `actions.forms` off, `fix-form` names no action tool. Under `agent.readOnly`, `performance-pass` asks you to start the recording from the panel.

The argument is your own text. The server puts it on one line, cuts it at 200 characters and masks JWTs, bearer tokens and secret values in it, the same way it masks tool answers.

The stdio server offers no prompts. Like the instructions, the prompts need a devframe patch that devframe 1.2.5 does not ship, so an installed package offers none until devframe ships it.

### Tool names

The server registers tools with a colon, as `pangular:get-routes`. MCP clients see them with an underscore, as `pangular_get-routes`. Calls with either form work.

`patches/` holds `pnpm patch` changes to the built files of `devframe`, `@devframes/agentic` and `@devframes/hub` 1.2.5, listed under `patchedDependencies` in `pnpm-workspace.yaml`. They add what devframe doesn't ship:

| `mcpContent` answers | `@devframes/agentic` sends a tool result's `mcpContent` blocks (`text` and `image`) as the MCP content, instead of the result as JSON. | `screenshot-component`, through `withMcpContent()` in `rpc/component-screenshots.ts` |

The `exposeSharedState` filter, which hides the shared-state keys of an inspector with `agent.tools.<name>: false`, is part of devframe since 1.2.4 and needs no patch.

The patches apply only inside this repository. An app that installs the published package gets no server `instructions`, and `screenshot-component` answers with its text note only, until devframe ships both. Each patch names an exact version and file names with build hashes, so a devframe upgrade needs the patches redone with `pnpm patch`, or removed once devframe has the feature.

Anything that changes the app or the server rather than reading it: setting a form value, navigating, restoring store state, HTTP fault rules. `actions` in the config blocks them, and `agent.readOnly` drops the agent tools that perform them.

**Prompt**:
An MCP prompt: a ready request for one workflow, such as `debug-error` or `fix-form`, that the HTTP MCP endpoint lists and an MCP client usually offers as a slash command. It names agent tools in numbered steps and is built from the shipped skills in `packages/devtools/src/agent-prompts.ts`; a prompt whose tools are off is not offered.
_Avoid_: template, command, skill (a skill is a `SKILL.md` folder the agent reads)

**Resource**:
Live state an agent reads as JSON over MCP, such as `pangular:component-tree`. It holds what the connected pages reported, so it is empty when no page is connected.
