Automated review of head Planning-only PR adding two quests. I checked the claims against Non-blocking:
CI (Check, Test, Quest) still pending. Verdict: MERGE This is an automated review, not the maintainer's decision |
WalkthroughThe changes add two quest documents and link each from its corresponding Required list. One documents the Interop latecomer control issue and planned handling. The other documents PSI run scheduling, a proposed omission and null-padding approach, and related test goals. No implementation changes are described. Priority: ⬇️ Low Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to The current scheduler is unaffected, but the plan could lead to a future implementation that deprives an aligned video unit of its table-based tune-in point. Clarify the omission rule before this work proceeds. Pre-merge checks |

- Around line 20-21: Revise the PAT/PMT omission rule in the `Schedule::push`
and `Slot::layout` flow so an identical run is dropped only when it is not the
first lead-in for a distinct send-ahead unit. Do not treat adjacency within the
same flush as sufficient to drop that lead-in, and preserve null padding for any
packets that are dropped.

Merge summary for head Planning only: it adds Reviews:
CI: Check, Test, and Quest pass. Public API: none. Wire: none. (Written by Claude Opus 5.5) |
Summary
Two follow-ups from #5207, planned with
/quest-plan:quest/m0/interop-latecomer-control.md[S]: the "lagging latecomer" negative control (from test(media): open each window once playback starts, and prove late join can fail #5173) often fails to make the latecomer miss live. While it fails, CI skips every TS Interop step on every PR. The quest fixes--lagat its cause and makes the Interop steps independent, so one red step never hides another. It is ranked right after TS duration fidelity.quest/m1/tstd/psi-runs.md[S]: aligned keyframes on several video PIDs lay identical PAT/PMT runs back to back, overflowing the 512-byte system buffer at 25 Mb/s and up. The quest starts from the author's narrower diff on fix(moq-mux): interleave each TS slot so no PID overruns its transport buffer #5207 and tests against system-buffer fill.Public API: none (planning only). Wire: none.
