🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick win
Prevent double-counting of incoming branches during reaggregation.
When recompute visits an active non-root child, rk.subtree_pd now includes rk.branch_length. The parent calculation at Line 1817 still adds rk.branch_length + rk.subtree_pd, so every active internal child is counted twice.
For a tree with branches root → clade (2.0) → tip (3.0), reaggregation returns 7.0 instead of the expected 5.0.
Keep one representation for subtree_pd. If it includes the incoming branch, initialise active leaf subtree_pd with its branch length and change the parent calculation to add only rk.subtree_pd. Add a nested-clade drag-and-drop regression test.

🟡 Minor · Check the cell budget before materialising raw rows. · validated_statistics.jl:308-318
src/server/routes/validated_statistics.jl:308-318
🚀 Performance & Scalability | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winCheck the cell budget before materialising raw rows.
A valid run with more than
max_rowsmatching rows reaches_validated_duckdb_counts. TheLIMIT max_rows + 1query then materialises those rows inDataFramebeforeobserved_cellsraisesResourceLimitError. The limit bounds the excess to one row, but it does not enforce the documented pre-materialisation budget and still causes a bounded allocation for an over-budget request.Add a count preflight, then fetch at most
max_rows.Suggested fix
max_rows = div(MAX_CELLS, length(samples)) + count_sql = "SELECT COUNT(*) AS n FROM $(_sql_identifier(table)) " * where_clause + row_count = only(DataFrame(DBInterface.execute(con, count_sql, where_params))).n + row_count <= max_rows || throw(ResourceLimitError( + "input table cells", MAX_CELLS, BigInt(row_count) * length(samples))) sql = "SELECT $feature_expression AS feature, $count_columns FROM $(_sql_identifier(table)) " * - "$where_clause ORDER BY feature LIMIT $(max_rows + 1)" + "$where_clause ORDER BY feature LIMIT $max_rows"🤖 Prompt for AI Agents
