test(atlas): offline readback binding the dependency atlas's node fingerprints to pinned Math- sources - #459
Conversation
…ources Scientific effect: NONE. Byte identity only; not proof validity, review independence or scientific acceptance. - tools/dependency_source_bindings.py reads each digest-fingerprinted node of docs/site/dependency-source/GRAPH.json from a Math- checkout at the PROVENANCE.json commit and writes tests/fixtures/dependency_source_bindings.json (pinned path, blob, bytes and sha256 per node; per-file blobs under the two directory-bound sources; the 15 record-only node ids). --check verifies the committed fixture reproduces. - tests/test_dependency_source_binding.py runs offline with the standard library: GRAPH.json bytes equal PROVENANCE.json, the fixture and current.json's graph identity; 49 nodes, 55 edges, 42 required; the fingerprint census is pinned; ABSENT carriers are BLOCKED_ABSENT and not controlling; every digest node's fingerprint equals its pinned sha256 or blob and the committed inventory's blob and byte count for that path equal the pinned values; the record-only node set is pinned; inventory rows under each directory-bound source are compared with the pinned file list and differences are reported, not failed. No change under docs/site/ or to any page wording. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01XjmjBhHbkztFy4aSubbtiS

…record-only rule with the generator Author amendment for the two non-blocking limits in the nonauthor read of main#459 at f411427 (xAI Grok 4.7, Cursor agent bc-1fba950d). - test_graph_bytes_match_provenance_and_fixture also asserts the fixture's graph_bytes, the inventory identity row's byte count, and that the row's blob id is Git's object name for the committed GRAPH.json bytes. - test_record_only_nodes_are_pinned uses the generator's rule (symbolic fingerprint and no source value, absent or null) instead of testing only for an absent key; on this graph both rules give the same 15 ids. Change and purpose
Engineering control only (tests and a generator; scientific effect NONE). After this change,
maincarries an offline readback that binds the public dependency atlas's node fingerprints to the Math- bytes they name, so a future re-pin ofdocs/site/dependency-source/GRAPH.json, a changed inventory row indocs/site/current.json, or an edited fingerprint is noticed by a test instead of by a reader. Today nothing inmainchecks those bindings; the six-area reconciliation (main#419/6281082962, area 1) found that 24 of the 49 nodes carry a digest and that all 24 resolve, while two directory-bound sources have drifted since the pin without any record noticing. Canonical board pickup: main#419/6281416215; HOLD at the 02:45Z checkpoint main#419/6281856249 (branch constraint, lifted by #455's landing); author-stage release main#419/6282079792; integration-stage pointer main#419/6282187597. dot's routing main#419/6281768399 item 3 keeps this stage at byte identity.Three new paths, nothing else:
tools/dependency_source_bindings.py: reads every digest-fingerprinted node of GRAPH.json from a Math- checkout at the commit named inPROVENANCE.json(7858329974e28be79f29b22644370084ff43da4f) and writes the fixture;--checkcompares a regenerated fixture with the committed one. Git plumbing reads only; nothing is written to Math-.tests/fixtures/dependency_source_bindings.json: per digest node the pinnedsource,kind(sha256orblob40),fingerprint, Gitblob,bytesandsha256; per directory-bound source the tree id and the per-file blobs at the pin; the record-only node ids; the census; the GRAPH.json identity.tests/test_dependency_source_binding.py(standard library, offline): GRAPH.json bytes equalPROVENANCE.json, the fixture (sha256 and byte count) andcurrent.json's graph identity (sha256, byte count and Git blob id); 49 nodes, 55 edges, every endpoint resolves, no duplicate pair, 42 required and 13 non-required; the fingerprint census is pinned at{sha256 23, blob40 1, ABSENT 3, no_field 2, symbolic 20}; every ABSENT carrier isBLOCKED_ABSENTand not controlling; every digest node's fingerprint equals its pinned sha256 (or blob id) and the committed inventory's blob and byte count for that path equal the pinned values; the 15 record-only node ids (symbolic fingerprint, no source value) are pinned as a set; inventory rows under each directory-bound source are compared with the pinned file list and differences are reported, not failed (DIRECTORY_SOURCE_REPORTlines).A digest match asserts byte identity only. The test prints no verification, alignment or acceptance wording, and no page, graph, provenance file or
docs/site/**byte changes. The atlas pages' own "binding unresolved" sentences are untouched.Current disposition

All 24 fingerprints equal the pinned identities, and the committed inventory (docs/site/current.json, observationdbe6c0a1) carries the same blob and byte count for each path; the reviewer confirmed each independently.frontiers/downstream_gate_20260925/SOURCE_FILES.jsonandrun_validation.pyhave different blobs than at the pin; the D1 directory shows no difference. This is information for the atlas owner; the test does not fail on it, by design, because the graph binds those nodes to a directory without a digest.BLOCKED_ABSENT; no status, flag, premise or register changes.docs/site/museum.mjsrecord joins, the directory-bound nodes' re-pin or digesting in Math-, and any execution-receipt binding or evidence-binding pilot (dot's routing main#419/6281768399 item 3 keeps this PR at byte identity; its evidence is linked as input on the architecture follow-on thread #327/6281759519, not as a join or mapping claim).🤖 Generated with Claude Code
