Summary
Announce that incoming
Request.signalabort events will become the default for compatibility dates on or after November 1, 2026. Update the flag metadata and Request reference, and add an October 17 advance changelog with a cancellation example, early opt-in and later opt-out instructions for bothcf(cloudflare.config.ts) and Wrangler, local testing and deployment commands, links to the relevant docs, and the May 2025 announcement.request_signal_passthroughis unchanged.Companion runtime PR: cloudflare/workerd#7798. Publish this documentation before November 1 so developers can test ahead of the default change. The changelog's date is its announcement date, not the future compatibility boundary.
Validation:
pnpm run checkpasses with zero Astro diagnostics and a passing Worker TypeScript check. Full Astro builds, Nimbus lint, changelog example TypeScript checks,cf/configTypeScript and configuration-schema checks, edited-changelog Prettier, and documentation links/anchors pass. Prettier crashes on the Request reference with both the original and edited content; the existing page formatting is preserved.Documentation checklist
