feat: upgrade the op collector to vLLM 0.30.0, SGLang 0.5.21 and TRT-LLM 1.3.0rc29 - #649
Main already ships the 2026-10 campaign tables for vLLM 0.30.0, SGLang 0.5.21 and TRT-LLM 1.3.0rc29 (#517). Its collector still defaults to vLLM 0.24.0, SGLang 0.5.14 and TRT-LLM 1.3.0rc20, so it cannot reproduce them. This PR lands the collector that produced those tables. Its consumers are the collection campaigns that build the perf tables.
It is the collector half of #228, split by path. The op-probe harness (collector/opharness) follows in #655, which merges this branch. No code here imports the harness.
It also makes the 2026-09-20 version policy binding: each collector file targets exactly one framework release.
Runtime pins: one release per collector file
framework_manifest.yaml defaults move to vLLM 0.30.0, SGLang 0.5.21 and TRT-LLM 1.3.0rc29.
vLLM gemm, moe, kda and mhc move to 0.31.0 through manifest family pins. GLM-5.3-Flash already collects them there, so these families upgrade instead of carrying 0.30.0 and 0.31.0 side by side. Kimi-K3 KDA moves with its family.
Every stock collector declares __compat__ = "<fw>==<version>", equal to the runtime the manifest resolves for its op: vLLM 0.30.0 or 0.31.0, SGLang 0.5.21, TRT-LLM 1.3.0rc29. No ranges, no != exclusions.
The rule is in .claude/rules/collector/layer_permissions.md ("Version contract"); test_framework_manifest.py enforces it. The aic-auto-collect and op-development skills and docs/perf-model/collector/upgrade.md follow it.
Qwen3.8-2.4T model pins (vLLM 0.27.1, SGLang 0.5.17) fold into the defaults. The new tables already carry its MoE and GDN shapes.
The SGLang 0.5.20 GLM-5.3-Flash registry lane retires: the model pin, the KDA/mHC architecture gates and collect_gemm_0520.py. Its tables stay under 0.5.20; re-collect them from main at c540ff9. The standalone GLM attention runner keeps its own exact pins.
vLLM MLA/DSA module cases
The two per-tensor gemm_type: fp8 combos leave mla_module.yaml, and collect_mla_module.py drops its per-tensor Fp8Config branch and the --gemm-type fp8 choice.
Every bundled MLA/DSA FP8 checkpoint is block-scaled (fp8_block); the only consumer of those rows was the prediction gate's forced per-tensor override, which a separate PR removes. Shipped tables keep their rows.
Harness shard plans that filter these shards by gemm type need their owner to drop the fp8 filter.
Op ports
SGLang runtime initialisation (runtime_compat), vLLM attention metadata, and the TRT-LLM GDN, DSV4 and MoE collectors follow the new runtimes.
New kernel_source label translations and a regenerated op_backend_facts.yaml.
MoE autotuning
vLLM and SGLang MoE run FlashInfer's autotuner before timing.
Each case logs the chosen tactic and any fallback reason.
layer_permissions.md now admits an evidence-backed guard. It raises in the worker before the expensive step, never at plan time. Its message starts with FIXME(kernel-limit):. It cites a source line or a reproducible failing run whose passing rows bound the envelope. It is re-verified on every bump.
The branch's plan-time drops became such raises, so those cases stay queued and land in every run's failure log as kernel_limit:
DSA modules with per-rank heads < 8 on SM100/103. vLLM cites FlashInfer trtllm_fmha_kernel_launcher.cu:318 @0.6.18; TRT-LLM cites StoreSmemP.h:125 @1.3.0rc29 and job 469988228.
TRT-LLM int4_wo MoE on SM100/103, citing moe_resolution.py:665 @1.3.0rc29.
SGLang attention no longer drops the flashinfer fp8_context_fmha case at plan time. Both FP8-prefill refusals (flashinfer has no FP8 prefill compute; fa3/trtllm_mha have no BF16 prefill on an FP8 cache) run before the model runner is built, cited at 0.5.21.
Limit raises that lacked the prefix now carry it and classify as kernel_limit, re-cited where the pin moved: vLLM MSA decode scorer, TRT-LLM FlashInferAttention FP8 FMHA (attention/backends/flashinfer.py:2740-2746 @1.3.0rc29), TRT-LLM MLA below SM90 (attentionOp.cpp:3234/:3240 @1.3.0rc29), WideEP fp8_block off SM90. failure_handling.md describes both classifications.
The vLLM fp8_block GEMM guard (n or k not a multiple of 16) applies from SM90, re-cited at 0.31.0 _custom_ops.py:807. SM89 selects Marlin first.
The TRT-LLM SM90 FP8-KV attention comment names its failing run: the h200 rc29 attention_generation shard, with 512 launch failures, 169 illegal accesses and 55,047 passing rows.
Standards exceptions default to versions: all: an exception follows the deviation, not a release.
Standards exceptions no longer expire on a date. Each carries verified_on, the release it was last checked on. Every bump of the covered tables' collector pin re-checks the deviation by source or run, as for a FIXME(kernel-limit), and either moves verified_on or deletes the entry; an entry behind the pin is stale. Evidence waivers keep their expiry.
All three entries are re-verified on today's pins: vLLM compute_scale on 0.30.0 (scope now includes l40s, where the sm89 probe observed the same approximation), vLLM fp8_static on 0.31.0 (kernels/linear/__init__.py:422-423, scaled_mm/flashinfer.py:50-62), TRT-LLM mHC on 1.3.0rc29 (models/modeling_deepseekv4.py:292-297 still defaults to fused_hc).
Changes measured rows: the SGLang FlashInfer GDN prefill lane gathers the state rows inside the timed call, as FlashInferGDNKernel.extend does (gdn_flashinfer.py:523-541). Not re-measured.
Keeps rows unchanged:
SGLang KDA decode drops its source probe and always times the plain lane, which the probe already chose at 0.5.21. kda_backend.py:737-742 skips the packed kernel for lower-bound layers, and Kimi-K3 has one.
SGLang's single-rank parallel override is back on run_attention_torch.
Removes switches that could change rows unseen:
The vLLM AIS_DSA_LEGACY_MODULE and AIS_KV_BLOCK_SIZE switches are gone.
TRT-LLM MoE zeroes the serving gate's e_score_correction_bias and passes the upper-cased backend. DeepSeek-V4 and MiniMax-M3 now route through their own gates (DeepseekV4Gate, MiniMaxM3Gate).
vLLM DSA takes the cache page from the first attention layer, the indexer cache, so FLASHINFER_MLA_SPARSE runs at 64, as serving does.
vLLM DSA series are sized at the model's max_position_embeddings.
Collector robustness:
SGLang full-node ops accept --cases-from.
A replay refuses an output root that already holds results, and never finalizes.
The SGLang MLA/MSA subprocesses beat the stall watchdog while they print, and die with their worker.
A failed DSA series point releases its memory.
SGLang resets the 0.5.21 expert-location metadata between ModelRunners.
collect_campaign records the clean checkout's commit as collector_ref.
Guards:
The TRT-LLM fp8 GEMM n/k%16 raise is deleted; the shipped rc29 SM89/SM120 tables contain cases it refused.
Three SGLang MoE kernel-limit raises now cite their 0.5.21 or FlashInfer 0.6.18 source.
The int4 group-size raise has no source backing, so it is unprefixed.
Generator:
The rc29 template renders AUTO when no MoE backend is set.
Blackwell keeps WIDEEP for TRT-LLM releases before 1.3.0rc25.
64-token rounding of caller-evaluated limits is logged.
The Sweeper renders the MiniMax-M3 sparse-attention keys.
Housekeeping:
A verified_on pin test.
The GLM-5.3-Flash SGLang plan drops kda/mhc_module.
Stale 0520, hca_attn/csa_attn and PR244 references are fixed.
Retired ops
The DSV4 hca_attn / csa_attn sidecar ops are removed end to end: collector, Rust PerfDataFilename entries, the twelve vLLM 0.24.0/0.25.0 tables and the reuse manifest entry.
Generator
New TRT-LLM 1.3.0rc29 template.
The SGLang 0.5.20 template, which 0.5.21 also selects, records the msgspec flag spellings and renders --cuda-graph-backend-prefill.
Hardware and model facts derived from the op probes.
Token budgets round up to a multiple of 64 on every backend.
Evidence files
benchmarks/evidence/collector/op-probe-2026-10/ holds the provenance that collector and generator comments cite: the 20 cited probe findings, plus _meta and the cited models from three results files. These are excerpts; the complete archive lands with the op-probe harness.
Review map
Risk level: high. Every collector op changes its default runtime, two Rust PerfDataFilename variants and twelve tables are removed, and rendered token budgets move.
Start with:
python/aisimulate/.claude/rules/collector/layer_permissions.md: version contract, evidence-backed guards, versions: all and verified_on.
collector/framework_manifest.yaml and tests/unit/collector/test_framework_manifest.py.
collector/collect.py and collector/helper.py: stall watchdog and subprocess heartbeat, resume, replay and failure classification.
collector/vllm/collect_mla_module.py and collector/vllm/utils.py: the DSA series sweep, the heads guard and the cache page.
collector/trtllm/collect_moe.py: the serving gate (_serving_moe_gate).
src/aisimulate/generator/config/backend_config_mapping.yaml: the 64-alignment rule.
Public or serialized contract changed: yes.
Rust PerfDataFilename drops the hca_attn / csa_attn variants; their tables and reuse-manifest entry go with them.
Rendered launch configs round token budgets up to a multiple of 64 (goldens below).
Collector CLI and environment: vLLM collect_mla_module.py drops --gemm-type fp8; AIS_DSA_LEGACY_MODULE and AIS_KV_BLOCK_SIZE are gone; collect.py refuses AIS_SM/AIC_SM; --cases-from needs an output root without results and leaves CSV staging only.
Rendered TRT-LLM 1.3.0rc29 configs default moe_config.backend to AUTO, not CUTLASS.
WorkerStallTimeout failure records gain task_params and group.
The perf-table row schema is unchanged.
Compatibility or rollback concern:
Shipped tables are untouched apart from the twelve retired DSV4 sidecar tables.
The SGLang 0.5.20 GLM-5.3-Flash lane retires; re-collect it from main at c540ff9.
Tests. About 50 test functions that only restated code (duplicates of the one-release-per-file check, tombstones, log-format and code-string pins, positive controls) were removed; the rest guard kernel selection, row schema, version gates, failure classification and executor behaviour. framework_kv_block_size, which picks the KV page and therefore the kernel, now has a unit test.
Known SGLang 0.5.21 GEMM gaps (accepted, tables kept). Checked against the v0.5.21 source:
bf16 GEMM on SM100/103: serving first sends the 68 shapes in _BF16_SPLITK_TUNED_TACTICS (m ≤ 32 at GB300 TP16 and B300 Qwen4-Exp TP4 widths) to FlashInfer split-K or direct. SGLANG_ENABLE_BF16_SPLITK_GEMM defaults to on. It then runs CuTe DSL's TGV kernel only where its B300-measured table picks it (small m, 2048 ≤ k ≤ 6144, n ≥ 1024). Everywhere else it runs F.linear, as the collector does. Rows for the split-K and TGV shapes are expected to read slower than serving (not measured here).
nvfp4 activation quant on SM100/103: serving quantizes with FlashInfer's cute-dsl backend; the collector uses the cuda backend. The mm_fp4 GEMM itself matches.
Per-tensor fp8: serving uses the AOT sgl_kernelfp8_scaled_mm the collector times, except on SM90 with M ≥ 8192 on wide shapes (torch._scaled_mm, 237 of 36,852 fp8 rows on H100/H200).
fp8_block on SM90 and SM100/103: serving's DeepGEMM path falls back to Triton when weight N % 64 or K % 128 is nonzero (fp8_utils.py:1228-1243, e.g. GLM-5.3-Flash widths 288/3336/6416/12576/19360). The collector times DeepGEMM for every shape.
A FIXME(re-verify) note in sglang/collect_gemm.py carries these to the next SGLang bump.
SGLang DSA prefill graph at 0.5.21 (needs a decision).
0.5.21 serves DSA prefill under the breakable prefill graph (buckets 4..2048). fix: repair SGLang DSA collector inputs and timing boundary #405's adapter targets 0.5.14's tc_piecewise runner and cannot run there, because the config lives behind get_exec() and the runner constructor changed.
The collector keeps prefill graphs off and times DSA prefill eagerly, which is how the 0.5.21 tables were measured; any enabled backend fails closed.
One-token extends stay out until a 0.5.21 run shows the eager indexer no longer faults.
vLLM masked-MHA prefill (known gap). 0.30's sparse-MLA masked-MHA prefill (SM100, FA4, BF16 KV) needs model-level head counts (num_heads × tp, sparse_mla_attention.py:93-127,708). A per-rank TP=1 module never reaches them. Serving runs masked MHA for TP>1 BF16-KV prefills up to 64K, so SM100 BF16-KV DSA context rows below full heads time sparse MQA instead. A FIXME(gap) note marks it.
TRT-LLM DeepSeek-V4 / MiniMax-M3 MoE gates are not GPU-validated yet. A smoke run is needed before the next collection.
DeepSeek-V4 mHC is not collected on vLLM 0.31.0. The architecture-free mhc_module_perf view its consumer reads would merge GLM-5.3-Flash rows at (hc_mult 4, hidden 4096). Its 0.24.0–0.30.0 tables stay; re-admitting it needs an architecture-keyed lookup first.
Collection runs. The collection harness launches every shard on the manifest's default image, so the vLLM 0.31.0 families need their own pipeline with AISIM_BACKEND_DOCKER_IMAGE set to the 0.31.0 image.
Standards exceptions cover every version and are re-verified on each pin bump instead of expiring. The rc29 mhc_module_perf tables on b200/b300/gb200/gb300 (shipped in data: 2026-10 campaign — vLLM 0.30.0 / TRT-LLM 1.3.0rc29 / SGLang 0.5.21 perf tables for 8 systems #517) do not disclose the mHC deviation in their own declaration layer, which rule 4 requires and the rc23 reuse.yaml did; that fix belongs with a data PR. The rc23 reuse.yaml disclosures still quote the old expiry date and are left as shipped.
TRT-LLM DSA modules on SM120 may be refused for nothing at rc29. The worker refuses them, citing DeepGEMM's "Unsupported architecture" at rc20. rc29 pins DeepGEMM 8b1392b, which dispatches SM120 for both indexer phases (attention.hppsm120_mqa_logits :205-212, sm120_paged_mqa_logits :414-418). The refusal stays, unprefixed so it reports as unexpected, with a FIXME(re-verify) note until a single-GPU SM120 rc29 run decides it.
Plan-time drops inherited from main remain: the TRT-LLM XQA GQA≥32 precheck (trtllm/collect_attn.py, two sites) and the XPU GQA≤16 filter (vllm/collect_attn_xpu.py). Converting them changes those case plans, so they are left to a follow-up.
The nine model configs bundled for the harness's probe roster, with their DefaultHFModels entries, the Qwen3_5ForCausalLM mapping and notices. No collector case or table uses them; they move to the harness PR.
Moving the remaining vLLM ops to 0.31.0, and GLM-5.3-Flash's SGLang lane to 0.5.21.
WideEP collectors (collector/wideep), which keep their own version ranges.
Evidence
Tests:
On 78e42f4 (merge of main plus the third round): CI's unit scope pytest tests/unit tests/golden -n 8 gives 13,700 passed, 42 skipped. The one failure is test_fpm_learned, which needs scikit-learn (not installed locally). CI's ruff check and format pass. check_collector_data.py, backend_facts.py --check, scripts/audit_pr244_data.py, copyright headers and packaged legal files pass.
CI's unit scope, run locally on the 2c59403 tree: pytest tests/unit tests/golden -n 8 from python/aisimulate gives 13,520 passed, 31 skipped. test_fpm_learned is deselected: it needs scikit-learn (main's learned extra), which is not installed locally.
Ruff check and format pass on the same tree.
8ef3e21 changes only the rule text, the exceptions registry and one docstring; the evidence-check, framework-manifest and model-case tests pass on it (214 passed).
On 0935e3b: tests/unit/collector + tests/unit/tools give 4,557 passed, 26 skipped; CI's exact ruff check and format commands pass.
Run before the review round, on the harness-free tree:
Collector unit suite: 4,203 passed, 26 skipped.
Repository CI contract tests: 547 passed. Six fail identically on main in the same environment, because pip-licenses is not installed and the prediction baseline commit is not fetched; CI installs both first.
These checks pass: copyright headers, packaged legal files, documentation links, CODEOWNERS build/emit, compileall, check_collector_data.py, backend_facts.py --check and changed_ops.py.
The native extension builds with maturin build --release (Rust compiles without the two PerfDataFilename variants).
CodeRabbit reviewed commit: 0935e3b (3e6f2cc only widens one exception's system list). Its 28 threads are resolved; three were declined or deferred with a reason in the thread.
Human review: Harrilee requested changes on 3e6f2cc; each of the 12 threads is answered and fixed in 78e42f4.
Codex reviewed commit: not run yet.
Negative or boundary cases:
Unit-tested: DSA cells with per-rank heads < 8 stay in the plan and raise kernel_limit on SM100/103 before the module build (vLLM and TRT-LLM).
Unit-tested: a FIXME(kernel-limit) message classifies as kernel_limit, anything else as unexpected; the MSA decode-scorer message carries the prefix.
Unit-tested: SGLang's flashinfer fp8_context_fmha case stays in the plan, and its refusal precedes the model-runner build.
Unit-tested: each stock collector admits exactly its manifest release.
GPU-observed: three vLLM fp8_block cases with n < 16 classify as kernel_limit in the smoke run below.
Not unit-tested: the AIS_SM refusal and the AIS_KDA_DECODE_PATHS validation.
Single-GPU A/B on B200 for the GLM-5.2 vLLM DSA context mix: shard time 463 s → 343 s, all 4,528 rows present in both runs, median new/old latency ratio 1.000.
In that A/B, points with isl ≤ 256 read 10–27% higher. That run sized the module at the series' largest point; it is now sized at max_position (third round), which has not been measured.
GPU smoke for the vLLM 0.31.0 families: B200, one GPU, 30 cases per shard, the stock v0.31.0 image (pipeline 77837592). All 12 shards exit 0. This run predates the review round.
OOM at the largest cells; bs = 1024 decode hits Triton's 65,535 grid limit (also absent from the 0.31.0 GLM tables); GLM verify is not collected by design

fp8, 3 cases with one local expert (EP = experts): vLLM 0.31.0 squeezes the per-expert scale to a 0-D tensor (trtllm_fp8_moe.py:370-375) and FlashInfer 0.7.0 requires 1-D. Serving shares this.
fp8, 3 cases with a small per-rank intermediate (80 / 160): the oracle picks FlashInfer TRT-LLM, which has no config ("No valid config found"). 0.30.0 ran the same shape on FlashInfer CUTLASS; the selection change most likely comes from the FlashInfer 0.6.18 → 0.7.0 move (not traced line by line).
bf16, 1 case: illegal memory access during the FlashInfer autotune pass (Llama-4-Maverick, num_tokens 2).
fp8_block, 1 case: block_n divisibility check in vLLM.
Modeling or data provenance
This PR adds no perf tables. It deletes the twelve DSV4 hca_attn / csa_attn tables (vLLM 0.24.0/0.25.0) along with their op.
TRT-LLM rc29 moe_perf: every collector ref in those sidecars ran the DeepSeek-V3 gate with an uninitialized e_score_correction_bias. About 530k rows across 8 systems have DeepSeek-V3-routed shapes, and their expert routing is not the one labelled. They need re-collection; the data owner decides when.
vLLM 0.30.0 DSA on b200/b300/gb200/gb300: 237,556 context and 24,288 generation rows per system are FLASHINFER_MLA_SPARSE at page 32. Serving runs page 64.
DSA module sizing: the series sizing changed twice (series max, then max_position); see the A/B above.
SGLang FlashInfer GDN prefill now includes the state gather (57cebf4).
The GPU smoke rows (pipeline 77837592) are validation data only and are not shipped.
benchmarks/evidence/collector/op-probe-2026-10/ holds measured op-probe excerpts that code comments cite.

Exact framework pins and runtime-specific behavior across vLLM 0.30.0 and selected 0.31.0 families, SGLang 0.5.21, and TensorRT-LLM 1.3.0rc29.
Collector failure and recovery behavior, including mandatory CUDA Graph timing, worker recovery, replay, and multi-table checkpoint finalization.
DSV4 sidecar removal and MLA/DSA measurement changes, including their effects on collection plans and published data.
Summary
The stock collector pins now target one framework release per collector file. The defaults are vLLM 0.30.0, SGLang 0.5.21, and TensorRT-LLM 1.3.0rc29. Selected vLLM collector families use 0.31.0.
Collector changes include CUDA Graph failure handling, worker heartbeats and recovery, exact-case replay, multi-table outputs, checkpoint finalization changes, and optional FlashInfer autotuning. A campaign tool runs manifest-pinned shards with resume support and supports CSV-only finalization.
Generator changes align applicable token budgets to multiples of 64. They also add model and hardware profiles, sparse-attention settings, KDA-related configuration, and DSA KV-cache dtype selection.
The change removes DSV4 hca_attn and csa_attn operations and twelve associated tables. It adds no performance tables. The supplied PR notes state that DSA module sizing and SGLang FlashInfer GDN prefill behavior affect measurements but have not been re-measured. The SGLang 0.5.20 GLM-5.3-Flash lane retires; its tables are to be recollected from main.
Contracts and behavior
Stock collector files use one exact framework pin matching the resolved manifest release.
A producer can declare multiple performance files and runtime arguments.
Table-producing collectors must not persist eager-fallback results after CUDA Graph capture fails.
Replay matches exact case strings and can report unmatched requests.
The campaign tool uses resume support and does not retain CSV files for deliverable data.
Applicable generated token budgets round up to multiples of 64.
Public Rust PerfDataFilename variants and the collector CLI/environment contract change.
Evidence and readiness
The author reports pytest tests/unit tests/golden -n 8 passed with 13,520 passed and 31 skipped on tree 2c5940314. test_fpm_learned was deselected because scikit-learn was unavailable. On tree 0935e3b0a, the author reports 4,557 passed and 26 skipped for tests/unit/collector and tests/unit/tools. These results were not independently verified.
Fast CI reportedly passed on 2c5940314. Full CI had not run; the supplied notes state that it requires a vetter to post /ok to test 0935e3b0a. A B200 smoke run reportedly had all 12 vLLM 0.31.0 family shards exit successfully, with case failures and causes documented by the author. The supplied evidence does not establish a later smoke result.
The author notes that framework_kv_block_size, the AIS_SM refusal, and AIS_KDA_DECODE_PATHS validation lack unit tests. Review findings and severity counts were not supplied. Technical validation is reported, but full CI, re-measurement of affected rows, and merge readiness are not established.

Full details: Modeling And Data Evidence
Explanation
The PR supplies committed provenance and reproducible evidence for its modeling and data changes. benchmarks/evidence/collector/op-probe-2026-10/README.md:8-21,25-37 identifies the serving-probe source, framework pins, hardware, curated findings, and machine-readable result summaries. findings.yaml:146-162 records the 64-token before/after values and re-probes; :368-415 records the faithful DeepSeek-V4.1 dummy, block-size A/B result, and matrix change; :878-902 records the MiniMax-M3 correction and vLLM block-size A/B. The SM89/SM100 findings also report matrix counts, aligned gates, failure classes, and re-verification (:655-770). The DSV4 table deletion is not binary-only: the JSON report records the prior 3,918 rows, removal reason, and published totals changing from 419,538/17 tables to 415,620/16, and the publication test asserts the new total. The generator golden diffs and comments provide explicit rendered before/after values such as 1628→1664, 32→64, and 4060→4096. This is an explained, machine-readable evidence bundle with anomaly checks and no unexplained refresh.
Full details: Description check
Explanation
The description follows the required template and provides detailed change scope, review map, contract impacts, compatibility concerns, test results, CI evidence, known gaps, data provenance, and tracking references. Codex review is explicitly recorded as not run, which satisfies the required evidence field while identifying a remaining review gap.
Full details: Cross-Layer Contract
Explanation
The standing cross-layer failures remain in the reviewed range. (1) The PR removes the three SGLang Qwen3.8 model pins and sets models: {} in framework_manifest.yaml:42-62. The manifest tests no longer assert those exact model IDs, versions, or images; they cover only synthetic and unknown model paths (test_framework_manifest.py:648-714). The committed finding still says the 0.5.21 serving matrix failed the Qwen3.8 A95B and A95B-FP8 boot checks (findings.yaml:424-430), and it has no 0.5.21 evidence for the RadixArk NVFP4 path. The new manifest claim is therefore contradictory and incomplete. (2) The PR adds causal_conv1d_uses_int64_offsets() (runtime_compat.py:173-191), but repository search finds no caller or test. The active GDN guard remains unconditional (collect_gdn.py:247-252) and still reports an int32 overflow. This leaves the new compatibility path stale and untested. (3) framework_kv_block_size() is used by the changed attention collector (collect_attn.py:199-201), but the changed test replaces it with a constant lambda (test_vllm_collect_attn.py:173-174). No direct test covers backend preference, user override, common-size selection, or default behavior. create_vllm_config still defaults block_size to 16 (utils.py:164-172), while the new contract documents distinct explicit-None behavior (utils.py:202-206) without testing omitted versus explicit None.
Resolution
Restore the three SGLang Qwen3.8 model pins, or add committed serving evidence for A95B, A95B-FP8, and RadixArk NVFP4 at 0.5.21. Add manifest tests for each exact model ID, resolved version, and image, and reconcile the contradictory finding. Remove causal_conv1d_uses_int64_offsets() if it is not part of the contract; otherwise call it from a tested version-aware GDN guard, update the guard message and evidence, and test both source-detected outcomes. Add direct tests for framework_kv_block_size() covering backend preference, user override, common-size selection, and default behavior. Test create_vllm_config with the argument omitted and with explicit None; set the default to None if the serving contract requires unconstrained selection.
Full details: Compatibility Boundaries
Explanation
The compatibility boundary remains broken by stale operational documentation. The PR changes the manifest to stock SGLang 0.5.21 with 0.5.21 images (python/aisimulate/collector/framework_manifest.yaml:24-28), but python/aisimulate/collector/README.md:554-572 still instructs use of SGLang 0.5.14 and describes a 0.5.14-only module path. python/aisimulate/collector/sglang/README.md:26-44,66-70,104-107 still documents the 0.5.14 runtime, image, module, and output path. Python and Rust package metadata remain aligned at version 0.13.0, and no package or crate manifest changes were introduced; those portions do not resolve the documentation mismatch.
Resolution
Update both collector README files. Replace operational SGLang 0.5.14 version, image, module, and output-path instructions with the manifest-resolved 0.5.21 values. Reference framework_manifest.yaml for image selection. Keep 0.5.14 only when clearly marked as historical context.
Full details: Review Evidence
Explanation
The available summary reports local pytest results, a B200 smoke run, Fast CI, and that Full CI had not run. Repository evidence confirms Fast CI is a standalone active workflow and that several expensive workflows are reusable-only. However, the authored PR description is truncated before its evidence section. The omitted text could contain additional hosted-CI claims, so the check cannot establish whether it cites an inactive nested workflow or whether all evidence categories are explicitly distinguished.
Resolution
Provide the complete PR description, especially the Evidence section. Confirm the exact commands and results, the local/fake-runner/parity/production labels, negative or boundary validation, and that no reusable-only workflow is presented as hosted CI evidence.

…LLM 1.3.0rc29
Main already ships the 2026-10 campaign tables for these runtimes (ai-dynamo#517),
but its collector still defaults to vLLM 0.24.0 / SGLang 0.5.14 /
TRT-LLM 1.3.0rc20. This lands the collector that produced those tables.
It is the collector half of ai-dynamo#228; the op-probe harness follows separately.
- Runtime pins and audits: framework_manifest defaults move to vLLM 0.30.0,
SGLang 0.5.21 and TRT-LLM 1.3.0rc29. Per-op __compat__ spans keep main's
GLM-5.3-Flash pins (vLLM 0.31.0, SGLang 0.5.20). The SGLang gemm fork for
0.5.20 applies to exactly 0.5.20, so the 0.5.21 default keeps its own path.
- Op ports to the new runtimes (sglang runtime_compat, vLLM attention
metadata, TRT-LLM GDN / DSV4 / MoE), new kernel_source label translations
and the regenerated op_backend_facts registry.
- vLLM and SGLang MoE run FlashInfer's autotuner before timing and log the
chosen tactic and fallback reasons per case (the fix behind the SM100
NVFP4 MoE data).
- Collection cost: vLLM MLA/DSA modules sweep a whole seq_len or
isl x prefix series per build; DSA modules are measured at the per-rank
heads their TP shards produce; graph-timed modules run fewer eager warmups;
TRT-LLM reuses GEMM modules and attention layers within a worker and
recycles the MoE worker every N cases; SGLang MoE builds its layer once per
token sweep; per-phase timing lines; the stall watchdog counts a worker
heartbeat as progress.
- The retired DSV4 hca_attn / csa_attn sidecar ops are removed end to end
(collector, Rust enum, data tables, reuse manifest).
- Generator: a TRT-LLM 1.3.0rc29 template, the SGLang 0.5.20 template
update, hardware and model facts from the op probes, and token budgets
rounded up to a multiple of 64 on every backend (the Dynamo 1.2.0
golden contract now expects 4096 / 3584).
- Nine bundled model configs (two with hf_quant_config) and their
THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES entries.
- benchmarks/evidence/collector/op-probe-2026-10: the probe findings and
results the collector and generator comments cite as provenance.

The nine bundled configs (eleven files) were added on 2026-09-25 so the
op-probe harness could render its model roster offline; no collector case,
collection run or shipped table uses them. They move to the harness PR
together with what exists only for them: their DefaultHFModels entries,
the Qwen3_5ForCausalLM -> QWEN35 mapping and flat-config handling, the
THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES sections (both copies), the NeoHorse SDK test and the
merge-time entries in the packaged-config inventory tests.
The generator facts that cite these checkpoints stay: they match by model
path or quantization layout and load no bundled config.

… move to 0.31.0
The owner policy of 2026-09-20 (version history lives in git, not in
side-by-side files or version ranges) was recorded only in a commit message
and four vLLM file headers, so later ports widened __compat__ ranges again.
It is now a binding rule ("Version contract" in
.claude/rules/collector/layer_permissions.md) and a test: every stock vLLM,
SGLang and TRT-LLM registry module declares exactly `==` the runtime the
manifest resolves for its op. aic-auto-collect, aic-collector-op-development
and docs/perf-model/collector/upgrade.md follow the rule.
- vLLM: gemm, moe, kda and mhc move to 0.31.0 through manifest family pins
(owner decision): GLM-5.3-Flash already collects them there, so the
families upgrade instead of carrying 0.30.0 and 0.31.0 side by side.
Kimi-K3 KDA moves with its family. Every other vLLM CUDA collector pins
0.30.0. DeepSeek-V4 mHC is not admitted on 0.31.0: the architecture-free
mhc_module_perf view its consumer reads would merge GLM-5.3-Flash rows at
(hc_mult 4, hidden 4096); its 0.24.0-0.30.0 tables stay.
- SGLang pins 0.5.21 and TRT-LLM 1.3.0rc29 in every collector.
- Qwen3.8-2.4T model pins (vLLM 0.27.1, SGLang 0.5.17) fold into the
defaults per the pin-consolidation rule; the new tables already carry the
Qwen3.8 MoE and GDN shapes.
- The SGLang 0.5.20 GLM-5.3-Flash registry lane retires (owner decision):
model pin, KDA/mHC architecture gates and the collect_gemm_0520 fork.
Its tables stay under 0.5.20; re-collect from main c540ff9. The
standalone GLM attention runner keeps its own exact pins.
- SGLang KDA raises KdaRuntimeNotAuditedError (not KeyError) for an
architecture with no audited release.
Older collectors and data are untouched: data stays under its version key,
code is `git log -- <file>` away.

Every bundled MLA/DSA FP8 checkpoint is block-scaled (fp8_block): the
DeepSeek-V3/R1/V3.2/V4, Kimi-K2 and GLM-5.x FP8 configs all carry
weight_block_size, and the NVIDIA ones are ModelOpt NVFP4. The only
consumer of the per-tensor `fp8` rows in the vLLM MLA/DSA module tables
was the prediction gate's forced per-tensor override (removed separately),
so the two `gemm_type: fp8` combos leave mla_module.yaml, as the fictitious
MoE fp8 cases did in AIC-1782 Task V2. collect_mla_module.py drops its
per-tensor Fp8Config branch and the `--gemm-type fp8` choice. Shipped
tables keep their rows.
Collection harness shard plans that filter mla/dsa module shards by gemm
type need their owner to drop the fp8 filter; this PR does not touch the
harness.

…eport to a data PR
The evidence bundle keeps the 20 findings collector and generator code cite
and, in each results file, _meta plus the models the citing comments name
(5,275 -> ~1,080 lines); the complete archive lands with the op-probe
harness. benchmarks/reports/perf-data/perf-data-reuse-analysis.md goes back
to main's copy: main never regenerated it after the ai-dynamo#517 data, so a rebuild
here carried ~2,200 lines of ai-dynamo#517 churn for a 2-line change of this PR.

`pytest -m unit` (used for local runs so far) deselects the unmarked
generator tests; CI runs tests/unit and tests/golden unfiltered.
- extra_engine_args.1.3.0rc29.yaml.j2 was copied from rc23 before ai-dynamo#626 and
missed its rule: cache_transceiver_config renders when a backend is set,
max_tokens_in_buffer only when given (test_sweeper_request, rc29 trace
candidate).
- The Dynamo 1.2.0 Slurm goldens follow the 64-aligned token budgets, as
the release-1.2.0 contract already does: vLLM 0.20.1 2140 -> 2176,
SGLang 0.5.11 1628 -> 1664, TRT-LLM 1.3.0rc14 decode max_num_tokens
32 -> 64.
- test_collect_mla_module_native_quant's fake helper lacked PhaseClock and
render_phase_totals, which sglang/collect_mla_module.py now imports; it
passed only when another test had loaded the module first.

Removes about 50 test functions (~1,000 lines) that would not catch a wrong
row or a wrong kernel: duplicates of the one-release-per-file check
(per-file __compat__ / admitted-release tests), tombstone tests for retired
ops, log/print-format pins no tool parses, positive controls, exact
code-string and docstring needles, and the test of dead code. Same-branch
parametrizations are trimmed and near-duplicates merged.
- collector/vllm/utils.kv_block_size had no callers (superseded by
framework_kv_block_size); it goes with its test. Gap left open:
framework_kv_block_size itself has no unit test.
- The strict pin test names its one exception, collect_dsv41_module's
pre-existing source-build pin from ai-dynamo#160 (never declared in the manifest),
instead of accepting every `@` pin.
- The no-eager-fallback test flags any allow_graph_fail other than literal
False (a wrapper forwarding its own keyword-only False default is
allowed), replacing five per-site call-count pins.
- The mHC audited-release overlap guard also checks the live 0.5.21.
- test_vllm_attn_kv_cache_layout needs real torch: registered as an optional
collection skip in .github/application-test-inventory.json with the same
reason text as the other three torch-only collector tests.

- The DSV4 subprocess wait beats the worker heartbeat every 60 s; the
1800 s stall watchdog would otherwise fail a healthy hour-long sweep.
- collect.py refuses AIS_SM/AIC_SM: it is the case-inventory stand-in for
a missing GPU, not a collection setting.
SGLang:
- The single-rank parallel override is back on run_attention_torch; it had
slid onto default_attention_backend. No measured change: the offline
runtime publishes TP/CP/DP 1.
- The FlashInfer GDN prefill lane gathers the state rows inside the timed
call, as FlashInferGDNKernel.extend does (gdn_flashinfer.py:523-541).
- KDA decode drops the source probe and the packed lane: at the pinned
0.5.21 a lower-bound layer always takes the plain lane
(kda_backend.py:737-742), and Kimi-K3 always has one.
- mHC and MLA modules reserve a free NCCL port (free_local_port) instead
of a random guess.
vLLM:
- AIS_KDA_DECODE_PATHS rejects unknown or unrunnable selections instead of
finishing "ok" with zero rows.
- The AIS_DSA_LEGACY_MODULE A/B switch (a 0.29 comparison) and the
AIS_KV_BLOCK_SIZE override are removed; neither may change rows unseen.
- gpt-oss MXFP4 imports GptOssMxfp4Config unconditionally (mxfp4.py:110
@0.31.0).
- The fp8_block n/k % 16 guard applies from SM90, where the cutlass block
tier exists; SM89 selects Marlin first. Re-cited at 0.31.0.
Generator and tools:
- trtllm renders load the bundled quantization only for MoE models whose
hardware moe_backend is quantization-keyed.
- collect_campaign counts a failed shard whose GPU slot is reused at once.
- test_error_classification imports collect without a global torch mock.

…s cover every version
Owner decisions (2026-10-30) on the CodeRabbit review of the guards:
- layer_permissions.md: an evidence-backed FIXME(kernel-limit) guard is
legal when it raises at run time, in the worker, before the expensive
step; cites the framework source line or a reproducible failing run
whose passing rows bound the envelope; and is re-verified on every
version bump. Plan-time drops for kernel limits stay forbidden.
- vLLM and TRT-LLM MLA modules: DSA per-rank heads 1/2/4 on SM100/103 are
no longer dropped from the plan; run_mla_module_worker raises before the
module is built (FlashInfer trtllm_fmha_kernel_launcher.cu:318 @0.6.18;
TRT-LLM StoreSmemP.h:125 @1.3.0rc29). The cases show in every failure
log again at no GPU cost.
- TRT-LLM MoE int4_wo cites moe_resolution.py:665 @1.3.0rc29 and drops the
version range (the file pins rc29); TRT-LLM SM90 FP8-KV decode names its
evidence shard.
- Governed exceptions: `versions: all` covers every version of the
backend; an exception follows the deviation, and `expires` bounds it.
The compute_scale, fp8_static and trtllm mHC entries use it.

ai-dynamo#649 (2c59403) removed AIS_KV_BLOCK_SIZE and AIS_DSA_LEGACY_MODULE from
the vLLM collectors. The skill's environment table no longer lists them;
AIS_DEBUG_IDXMETA stays (collect_mla_module still reads it).

…f expiring
An exception now follows the deviation (versions: all), so a calendar date
bounded nothing that a reviewer or CI ever checked. Each standards exception
carries the release it was last verified on; every bump of the covered
tables' collector pin re-checks the deviation by source or run, as for a
FIXME(kernel-limit), and either moves verified_on or deletes the entry. An
entry behind the pin is stale.
Re-verified on today's pins:
- vLLM compute_scale: 0.30.0, the op's own pin (opharness gate 2026-09-27).
- vLLM fp8_static: 0.31.0. FlashInfer still precedes Cutlass
(kernels/linear/__init__.py:422-423) and still takes CC>=100 per-tensor
scales (scaled_mm/flashinfer.py:50-62).
- TRT-LLM mHC: 1.3.0rc29. DeepSeek-V4 serving still defaults to fused_hc
(models/modeling_deepseekv4.py:292-297) while the collector times
pre/post_mapping.
Evidence waivers (design section 9) keep their expiry.

The rule this branch wrote (plan-time kernel-limit drops forbidden; a guard
raises in the worker with FIXME(kernel-limit) and a citation) did not yet
hold in its own code.
- SGLang attention: the flashinfer fp8_context_fmha case is no longer
dropped at plan time. Both FP8-prefill refusals (flashinfer: no FP8
prefill compute; fa3/trtllm_mha: no BF16 prefill on an FP8 cache) run
before the model runner and tensors are built, cited at 0.5.21
(flashinfer_backend.py:1833-1834, flashattention_backend.py:1322-1332,
trtllm_mha_backend.py:1600-1609).
- vLLM MSA: the decode-scorer limit message starts with FIXME(kernel-limit),
so it classifies as kernel_limit instead of unexpected.
- failure_handling.md describes both classifications.
- Pre-existing limit raises carry the prefix where the cited source still
holds at the pinned release, re-cited there:
- TRT-LLM FlashInferAttention FP8 FMHA: attention/backends/flashinfer.py:2740-2746 @1.3.0rc29.
- TRT-LLM MLA below SM90: attentionOp.cpp:3234/:3240 @1.3.0rc29 (stock and module collectors).
- WideEP fp8_block on non-SM90: deep_gemm/compiler.cuh unchanged rc20 -> rc29.
- Not prefixed: the TRT-LLM DSA module's SM120 refusal. rc29 pins DeepGEMM
8b1392b, whose attention.hpp dispatches SM120 for both indexer phases
(sm120_mqa_logits :205-212, sm120_paged_mqa_logits :414-418). A
FIXME(re-verify) note records it; an SM120 rc29 run decides it.

1. **A task stays in its module.** Collector tasks touch `collector/` (+ its

Its observed downstream usage is through the performance-database API, not the removed DSV4 filename enum members. [::ai-dynamo/dynamo::components/src/dynamo/planner/monitoring/aic_estimator.py:51-62]

The frozen compatibility SDK and legacy registries still expose HCA/CSA filenames and operations. Dynamo requires an exact AISimulate version (0.13.0.dev202610290000000087) in both Python and container dependencies, with matching aisimulate-core Cargo pins enforced by consistency tests. AIConfigurator remains a frozen 0.12.0 compatibility release for migration to AISimulate; its migration documentation explicitly instructs users to install aisimulate==0.12.0. [::ai-dynamo/aiconfigurator::docs/aisimulate_migration.md:8-16] [::ai-dynamo/aiconfigurator::pyproject.toml:6-43]
The frozen repository still contains HCA/CSA registry entries, filename enums, capability entries, reuse metadata, and collector getters. Requesting changes for three issues. One crashes a collection path, and two make rows measure something other than what serving runs. Everything else below is should-fix or follow-up material.
I read the diff against the collector rules in layer_permissions.md, failure_handling.md and case_authoring.md. I checked the upstream lines the comments rely on at vLLM v0.30.0/v0.31.0, SGLang v0.5.21 and TRT-LLM v1.3.0rc29. This was a static review; I did not run any collection.
Blocking (inline)
collect.py:2664: SGLang full-node ops crash on the new replay keyword argument.
trtllm/collect_moe.py:598: DeepSeek-V3 routing reads an uninitialized e_score_correction_bias, so the token-to-expert distribution in those rows isn't the one the row is labeled with.
vllm/collect_mla_module.py:1122: SM100 DSA cases that select FLASHINFER_MLA_SPARSE now run at KV page 32. Serving runs page 64, as base did.
Should-fix
vLLM masked-MHA prefill can't fire in the collector. This is not inline because vllm/utils.py:268 is unchanged.
vLLM 0.30 adds masked-MHA prefill for sparse MLA on SM100 (FA4, BF16 KV).
_is_masked_mha_available requires num_heads * tp_world_size to be 128 or 64 (sparse_mla_attention.py:93-127, 708). _use_masked_mha looks up its thresholds by tensor_parallel_size (mla_attention.py:1844).
The collector builds the per-rank module at TP=1 with total_num_attention_heads set to the per-rank count, so masked MHA never fires for a TP>1 shard.
Example: GLM-5.2 at TP8 with BF16 KV has 8 heads per rank. Serving runs masked MHA for pure prefills up to 64K; the collector times sparse MQA.
This affects SM100 BF16-KV DSA context rows below full head count. If faking the TP size is too invasive for this PR, it should at least be listed as a known gap.
vLLM DSA series (inline): the module is sized at the series maximum rather than at max_position (:1462), and a failed point keeps its GPU memory alive for the rest of the series (:1794).
SGLang collect_mhc_module.py:578 (unchanged line, so not inline):
At 0.5.21 the expert-location metadata lives in get_resources().expert_location_metadata, and set_global_expert_location_metadata asserts it is None (eplb/expert_location.py:479-488).
Resetting the old _global_expert_location_metadata module global therefore does nothing. The second DeepSeek-V4 mHC task in a worker fails ModelRunner init with an AssertionError, recorded as unexpected.
Fix: set get_resources().expert_location_metadata = None.
The new stall watchdog vs SGLang MLA/MSA module subprocesses (inline, collect.py:144).
verified_on is not enforced anywhere (inline, evidence_exceptions.yaml:156).
collect_campaign shards record collector_ref: unknown (inline, collect_campaign.py:188).
--cases-from replay output finalizes like a normal run.
The ReplaySpec docstring says "packaging must keep such a result out of shipped tables", but nothing reads collector_replay.json, and collection_meta doesn't record replay mode.
So a --replay-control N run in a campaign output root re-measures N passing cases and overwrites their rows.
Please refuse to finalize into an existing table in replay mode, or record the mode in collection_meta.
Generator (inline):
Blackwell rc29 TRT-LLM MoE still renders CUTLASS.
The 64-token rounding ignores preserve_engine_limits.
The MiniMax-M3 algorithm key is missing on the Sweeper path.
Smaller things
trtllm/collect_gemm.py:199 (inline): the fp8 n/k%16 guard is broader than its evidence on SM89/SM12x.
SGLang MoE guards without citations.sglang/collect_moe.py re-prefixes four raises as FIXME(kernel-limit) without citing a 0.5.21 source line or a run: FlashInfer CUTLASS BF16 /8, SM90 DSV4 W4A16 FP4 /128, INT4 group size, and Triton fp8_block /128. Rule 3 asks for a citation, and the prefix now moves these out of unexpected.
SGLang GEMM gap note. The FIXME(re-verify) note and the PR's list of accepted gaps miss two things:
On SM100/103, 0.5.21 sends the shapes in _BF16_SPLITK_TUNED_TACTICS to FlashInfer split-K (SGLANG_ENABLE_BF16_SPLITK_GEMM defaults to True) before it even checks TGV.
Serving's fp8_block DeepGEMM path falls back to Triton when weight.shape[0] % 64 != 0 (GLM widths 288/3336/6416/12576/19360), while the collector always times DeepGEMM.
Stale GLM-5.3-Flash and 0.5.20 references.
Glm5NextForConditionalGeneration_cases.yaml still says SGLang 0.5.20 is the audited KDA/mHC runtime. The SGLang plan still schedules kda/mhc_module for it, so every run logs failures that are guaranteed to be unexpected.
kernel_source_backends.yaml still cites the deleted collect_gemm_0520.py.
Stale hca_attn/csa_attn comments in crates/core/src/perfmodel/perf_database/table_view.rs:2453, perf_database/dsv4.rs:541 and operators/dsv4.rs:1061.
PR244 audit.scripts/audit_pr244_data.py's table-inventory check now fails for the vLLM 0.25.0 dirs, because the hca table is gone. It isn't in CI, but scripts/README.md names it as the verification contract for benchmarks/evidence/collector/pr244/. Please update the ledger or note the retirement there.
On your reviewer notes
The Dynamo 1.2.0 goldens following the 64 rule is fine with me: rounding up only raises a cap by at most 63 tokens. The one exception is the preserve_engine_limits case flagged inline.
Checked and looks right
Version pins: every __compat__ matches what the manifest resolves: vLLM gemm/moe/kda/mhc on 0.31.0 and the rest on 0.30.0, SGLang 0.5.21, TRT-LLM rc29.
Collect harness:
kernel_limit classification matches only a leading prefix.
Resume counts a case only if it is both done and attempted in the open event.
The AIS_SM refusal comes after every --plan-only return.
An XPU failure no longer recycles the worker.
TRT-LLM caches: the GEMM/MLA/MSA/DSV4 module caches key on every constructor argument that matters, and MoE worker recycling exits only after rows are logged.
SGLang 0.5.21:
The attention FP8 refusals match 0.5.21 and run before the model runner is built.
The GDN gather lane matches FlashInferGDNKernel.extend on SM90.
The MoE layer reuse within a token sweep doesn't carry stale state.
Removals and evidence: removing hca_attn/csa_attn leaves no loader, manifest or reuse.yaml reference behind, and the evidence directory holds evidence only.
Brings in 10 main commits. One conflicts: ai-dynamo#405 (SGLang DSA collector
inputs and timing boundary), written against SGLang 0.5.14 @49e384ce,
while this branch pins the SGLang collectors to exactly 0.5.21.
Port of ai-dynamo#405 to 0.5.21 (checked against the v0.5.21 source):
- Input relay: prepare_for_extend still stages prefill_input_ids_cpu, so
resolve_forward_inputs is kept. The FutureMap is built as the scheduler
builds it (spec_algorithm.create_future_map with the one-argument
decide_needs_cpu_seq_lens and decide_needs_confidence_relay), and the
decode handoff stashes a RelayPayload.
- History seeding: act_quant moved to sglang.kernels.ops.attention.dsa.
The writers and their signatures are unchanged.
- Token check: num_token_non_padded_cpu is now
global_num_token_non_padded_cpu.
- ForwardBatch.init_new keeps the branch's return_hidden_states_before_norm
keyword (required at 0.5.21).
- Prefill graph: 0.5.21 serves DSA prefill under the "breakable" backend.
The resolved config is reached through get_exec(), since
ServerArgs.cuda_graph_config stays None, and the runner constructor
changed. ai-dynamo#405's tc_piecewise adapter therefore does not run at 0.5.21.
The collector keeps prefill graphs off (disable_prefill_cuda_graph=True)
and times DSA prefill eagerly, as the 0.5.21 tables were measured.
graph_token_bucket reads get_exec() and returns None when the graph is
disabled; any enabled backend fails closed until the adapter is ported
(FIXME(port) in dsa_prefill_graph.py lists the work).
- One-token extend: it stays out (seq_len > 1). Without the prefill graph
it runs eagerly, where the DSA indexer illegal-accessed (FIXME(re-verify)).
- Citations moved from 49e384ce to v0.5.21 lines.
- Also fixed:
- The rope contiguity patch passes fused_set_kv_buffer_arg by keyword
(positionally it bound to offsets).
- The expert-location reset uses the 0.5.21 runtime_context resource,
via runtime_compat.reset_expert_location_metadata.
The phase clock and ai-dynamo#405's DSA inputs are combined in _run_prefill and
_run_decode, with a "history" phase after metadata.
Tests:
- main's DSA tests now stub the 0.5.21 names.
- The boundary tests drive the native-graph branch through a fake bucket.
- New tests pin the real graph_token_bucket: disabled returns None, any
enabled backend fails closed.
- A one-token extend is rejected.

Blocking:
- SGLang full-node ops took no `replay` keyword, so collect_sglang raised a
TypeError after the pool ops and lost the summary and provenance.
collect_sglang_fullnode_op now accepts replay and selects cases in the
pool ops' order. A test checks every keyword collect.py passes.
- TRT-LLM MoE gates allocate e_score_correction_bias with torch.empty, and
only load_weights fills it, so leftover memory picked the experts.
_serving_moe_gate zeroes it, also on the min-latency gate, and passes
moe_backend upper-cased (TRTLLM keeps a bf16 bias). DeepSeek-V4 gets
DeepseekV4Gate (scored layer) and MiniMax-M3 gets MiniMaxM3Gate, as
rc29 serving builds them.
- vLLM DSA page: serving sizes the cache block from the first non-SSM
attention layer, the indexer cache, which accepts only 64 on CUDA.
framework_kv_block_size takes that cache backend
(current_platform._find_non_ssm_backend), so FLASHINFER_MLA_SPARSE runs
at 64, not 32.
vLLM DSA series:
- The module is sized at the model's max_position_embeddings. The indexer
buffers scale with max_model_len, so a series-max size bent batch scaling.
- A failed point's traceback frames are cleared, so its memory does not
stay pinned for the smaller points.
- FIXME(gap) note: masked-MHA prefill needs model-level heads x TP, which a
TP=1 per-rank module never reaches.
Collector harness:
- helper.run_measurement_subprocess beats the stall watchdog while a
child's output grows, and on Linux kills the child with its worker
(PR_SET_PDEATHSIG). The SGLang MLA/DSA and MSA collectors use it.
- --cases-from refuses an output root that already holds results and
never finalizes its CSV staging into parquet or collection_meta.yaml.
- SGLang mHC/MLA cleanup resets the 0.5.21 expert-location resource
(runtime_compat.reset_expert_location_metadata).
- collect_campaign passes AISIM_COLLECTOR_REF (clean-tree HEAD, 40-64 hex)
to every shard.
Kernel-limit guards:
- SGLang MoE: the FlashInfer CUTLASS BF16 %8, SM90 DSV4 FP4 %128 and Triton
fp8_block %128 raises now cite their 0.5.21 / FlashInfer 0.6.18 source
lines. The int4 group-size raise has no source backing, so it loses the
prefix and carries FIXME(re-verify) with the kernels' real limits.
- The TRT-LLM fp8 GEMM n/k%16 raise is deleted. The checked-in rc29 l40s
and rtx_pro_6000 tables hold 120 rows each that it refused, and SM90+
fails naturally with a cheap TORCH_CHECK.
- The SGLang GEMM gap note adds FlashInfer split-K for the 68 tuned bf16
shapes and the fp8_block DeepGEMM-to-Triton fallback for N%64 / K%128.
Generator:
- The rc29 template renders AUTO, the rc29 default, when no MoE backend is
set.
- hardware.yaml keeps WIDEEP for Blackwell, and apply_moe_backend drops it
from TRT-LLM 1.3.0rc25, the first release without the literal.
- 64-token rounding of caller-evaluated limits (preserve_engine_limits)
logs the change.
- The Sweeper (benchmark rule) renders the MiniMax-M3 sparse-attention
algorithm/implementation keys.
Other:
- A test asserts every standards exception's verified_on equals the
collector pin of its tables.
- The GLM-5.3-Flash SGLang plan no longer schedules kda/mhc_module.
- kernel_source_backends.yaml cites the retired 0520 file at c540ff9.
- Stale hca_attn/csa_attn Rust comments are updated.
- The PR244 audit excludes the retired hca table, and its manifest is
regenerated.

@Harrilee, thanks for the review. The fixes are in 78e42f4, on top of the merge of main (d9bb214). Each inline thread has its own reply. Below are the items from the review body.
Input relay: the FutureMap is built the way the 0.5.21 scheduler builds it, and the decode handoff stashes a RelayPayload.
History seeding: act_quant moved to sglang.kernels.ops.
Token check: it reads global_num_token_non_padded_cpu.
Citations now point at 0.5.21 lines.
Your call — the prefill graph. 0.5.21 serves DSA prefill under the "breakable" backend (buckets 4..2048). ServerArgs.cuda_graph_config is always None there, and the runner constructor changed, so the tc_piecewise adapter in dsa_prefill_graph.py cannot run as written. The merge keeps prefill graphs off and times DSA prefill eagerly, which is how the 0.5.21 tables were measured. graph_token_bucket returns None when the graph is disabled, and any enabled backend fails closed with a FIXME(port) listing the work. If you'd rather 0.5.21 refuse the graph-eligible (≤2048-token) points, as fix: repair SGLang DSA collector inputs and timing boundary #405 does at 0.5.14, that drops the small-token DSA context rows. Please say which you prefer.
One-token extend: it stays out (seq_len > 1). Without the graph it runs eagerly, where the indexer illegal-accessed. It is marked FIXME(re-verify).
Rope keyword fix: the rope contiguity patch passed fused_set_kv_buffer_arg positionally, so it bound to offsets. It now passes it by keyword.
Should-fix items from the body
Masked-MHA prefill: recorded as a known gap. There is a FIXME(gap) note where the DSA module is built, and an entry in the PR body. Faking the TP world size touches every per-rank check, so it is left out of this PR.
SGLang mHC expert_location_metadata: fixed with runtime_compat.reset_expert_location_metadata(), which clears get_resources().expert_location_metadata at 0.5.21. The SGLang MLA cleanup uses it too.
--cases-from: a replay now refuses an output root that already holds results (perf staging, parquet or collection_meta.yaml). It also keeps its rows as CSV staging, so it never finalizes into parquet or a sidecar. Both are tested.
Smaller things
SGLang MoE guards:
Three now cite their source: FlashInfer CUTLASS BF16 % 8 (flashinfer_cutlass_fused_moe_binding.cu:386-394 @ flashinfer 0.6.18, which 0.5.21 pins), SM90 DSV4 FP4 % 128 (mxfp4_flashinfer_cutlass_moe.py:67), and Triton fp8_block % 128 (fp8_kernel.py:577 via fused_moe_triton_kernels.py:866).
The int4 group-size guard has no 0.5.21 line that rejects K % group_size. Its prefix is gone, so it reports as unexpected, and a FIXME(re-verify) lists the kernels' real limits.
SGLang GEMM note: the note and the PR body now include the split-K dispatch for the 68 _BF16_SPLITK_TUNED_TACTICS shapes, and the fp8_block DeepGEMM→Triton fallback when N % 64 or K % 128 is nonzero (fp8_utils.py:1228-1243, SM90 and SM100/103).
Stale GLM-5.3-Flash / 0.5.20 references: the SGLang GLM plan no longer schedules kda/mhc_module, and the cases YAML says why. kernel_source_backends.yaml cites the retired collect_gemm_0520.py at c540ff9; its labels still describe the shipped 0.5.20 tables.
Rust comments: the three stale hca_attn/csa_attn comments are fixed.
PR244 audit: a RETIRED_TABLES entry excludes dsv4_hca_attn_module_perf from the inventory check. The ledger keeps its reported hashes. The manifest is regenerated: only that table's five entries and the five 0.25.0 sidecar hashes change, and the README says so.
Data impact (both blocking issues reach shipped tables). This is being raised with the data owner, separately from this PR:
TRT-LLM rc29 moe_perf: every collector ref in those sidecars has the DeepSeek-V3 gate without bias zeroing. About 530k rows across 8 systems have DeepSeek-V3-routed shapes.
vLLM 0.30.0 DSA on b200/b300/gb200/gb300: per system, 237,556 context rows and 24,288 generation rows are FLASHINFER_MLA_SPARSE at page 32.

Approving. 78e42f4 addresses the three blocking issues and the should-fix items from my last review, and full CI is green on this head.
Re-checked against upstream
TRT-LLM gates: at rc29, DeepseekV4Gate (with is_hashed=False) and MiniMaxM3Gate both allocate e_score_correction_bias with torch.empty. The constructor arguments in _serving_moe_gate match their signatures (modeling_deepseekv4.py:1416-1479, modeling_minimaxm3.py:487-554), so _zero_routing_bias covers all three gates.
vLLM page:_find_non_ssm_backend is the classmethod serving itself calls in update_block_size_for_backend (platforms/interface.py:589-640 @v0.30.0). The cache block now comes from the same layer as in serving.
rc29 MoE default:AUTO is rc29's MoeConfig.backend default. WIDEEP is still in the literal at rc24 and gone at rc25, which matches _TRTLLM_MOE_BACKEND_REJECTED_FROM.
#405 port in the merge commit: I spot-checked the 0.5.21 APIs it now relies on: create_future_map, decide_needs_cpu_seq_lens/decide_needs_confidence_relay, RelayPayload(bonus_tokens=...) and resolve_forward_inputs.
No concerns with the rest:
the full-node replay threading and the replay output-root refusal;
max_model_len sized at max_position, and clear_frames;
run_measurement_subprocess and reset_expert_location_metadata;
collector_ref and the verified_on test;
the token-budget warning and the Sweeper MiniMax-M3 keys.
Before the next collection (not blocking merge)
V4/M3 gate smoke run. As you noted, the DeepseekV4Gate/MiniMaxM3Gate switch hasn't run on a GPU yet. Please smoke-test it before the next TRT-LLM MoE campaign.
Shipped-data tracking. Please link the tracking issue for re-collecting the affected shipped data here, so it stays attached to this change:
about 530k rc29 moe_perf rows;
the vLLM 0.30.0 FLASHINFER_MLA_SPARSE DSA rows collected at page 32 on b200/b300/gb200/gb300.
One nit inline.
I'll reply to the SGLang 0.5.21 prefill-graph question separately.
This was a static review of 3e6f2cc..78e42f4 plus the #405 port in d9bb214; I did not run any collection.

…armed
Follow-up to a ai-dynamo#649 review comment. If the worker dies between the fork
and the child's prctl(PR_SET_PDEATHSIG), the child has already been
reparented and never gets the signal. The preexec_fn now captures the
worker pid in the parent and, after prctl, exits the child when its
parent is no longer the worker.
The docstring also notes that PDEATHSIG follows the forking thread,
which is the worker's main thread: run_measurement_subprocess is only
called from there.
Two unit tests cover the armed case and the orphaned case.

Why and what changed
Main already ships the 2026-10 campaign tables for vLLM 0.30.0, SGLang 0.5.21 and TRT-LLM 1.3.0rc29 (#517). Its collector still defaults to vLLM 0.24.0, SGLang 0.5.14 and TRT-LLM 1.3.0rc20, so it cannot reproduce them. This PR lands the collector that produced those tables. Its consumers are the collection campaigns that build the perf tables.
It is the collector half of #228, split by path. The op-probe harness (
collector/opharness) follows in #655, which merges this branch. No code here imports the harness. It also makes the 2026-09-20 version policy binding: each collector file targets exactly one framework release.
