32-47: 🔒 Security & Privacy | 🔵 TrivialThe CDP port gives full control of a persistent profile without authentication.
The code starts Chrome with
--remote-debugging-port=9334and a persistent~/.cache/wally-browser/chromeprofile. That profile keeps logins and cookies between runs. CDP has no authentication. Any local process that can reach 9334 can read cookies, run JavaScript, and bypass agent checks. Also, if another process already listens on 9334, the code still setsBU_CDP_URLto that port without checking that the listener is Chrome. Consider these changes:
- Pass
--remote-debugging-address=127.0.0.1explicitly.- Before you reuse the port, check that
/json/versionreports a Chrome that this command started.- Document that the profile keeps login sessions.
Based on learnings: "check that the port is either strictly loopback-bound with no other local processes trusted, or fronted by an authenticated proxy/bridge before production use".

Reviewed as the base of #231. #166's own CI is green on e047c9a, but it targets main and ships the Python agent with the same safety gaps I proved on #231 (#231 (review)):
browser/jev_ultrafast/guards.pyuses the samePAY/SHORT_COMMITlists, so a lone Place your order, Buy or Book now on a page that charges a saved card is not refused.browser.pyactclicks, then sends select-all +Input.insertTextto whatever is focused, so a page that moves focus from a harmless field into a card field (same-origin, or a cross-origin iframe) gets the text there.
Please don't merge this to main on its own. Land it together with #231 once #231's guard fixes are in (it replaces the Python agent), or apply the same fixes here.

Re-reviewed at ee3f16d, which now carries #231's Rust agent. My earlier concern (the Python guards) is resolved: the fixed agent held all nine of my payment/card probes, including the keydown and timer focus-steals (30 repeated runs, 0 leaks).
This is the first time the Rust agent has run in real CI (#231's base had none), and three things fail. All three come from #231's code: prompts.rs, chrome.rs, decide.rs and both browser test files don't exist at e047c9a, and #166's CI was green there.
1. Windows builds send CRLF prompts to the model (product bug). windows + windows-arm64: browser::decide::tests::the_request_matches_what_python_sent_for_the_recorded_page (decide.rs:730). The actual request has \r\n where the recording has \n, in 39 places. src/browser/prompts.rs include_str!s prompts/*.txt, and the Windows runner's core.autocrlf=true rewrites them on checkout. So a Windows-built wally would ship different prompts. Fix: src/browser/prompts/** text eol=lf (or -text) in .gitattributes, the same pattern already used for the contracts and goldens. The JS under src/browser/js/ is worth the same treatment.
2. Attaching to Chrome doesn't wait for DevTools to answer. windows 26/36 and windows-arm64 browser tests fail, plus 1 on linux (a_gateway_503_ends_the_run_with_one_line_after_retrying), all with browser-use stopped: no Chrome answered at http://127.0.0.1:<port>. The harness's Chrome::start returns as soon as DevToolsActivePort exists, and chrome.rs probes /json/version once (500 ms, no retry). Chrome can write the port file before the HTTP endpoint answers. Fix both: the harness should wait until /json/version answers, and the product's attach should retry for a few seconds. A person who has only just opened Chrome hits the same race.
3. The cross-origin card frame never loads on Windows (pattern_a_card_field_in_a_cross_origin_iframe_is_out_of_reach, probe_a_keydown_handler_cannot_pull_text_into_a_cross_origin_card_frame, …: the card iframe never loaded). The frame URL uses localhost:<port> but the site listens on 127.0.0.1 only. Windows commonly resolves localhost to ::1 first. Likely fix: bind the site on both, or use another 127.0.0.0/8 name for the cross-origin host. (Inferred from the logs, not reproduced here.)
linux-arm64 is green, and macOS was still running when I wrote this.
If #166 merged as is: main has no required status checks, so it could merge with these red. Then every later PR's windows/windows-arm64 CI would fail deterministically (failures 1 and 3), linux would be flaky (failure 2), and a Windows release would ship the CRLF prompts. Please get CI green on all platforms first.
Not merging.

Commits are safe (the no-repeat rule stopped the second "Add to basket"), but on a slow machine a toggle ends up wrong and fields get re-typed. Suggested:

snapshot.jsreads the page in one call: visible text and every control. That covers open shadow roots, same-origin iframes, inner scroll areas, native date inputs and button-shapeddivs./systemonerequest asks the model for the next operation (click, type, select, scroll, done) and its target. How it's tested
