docs(D-DQM): DR64 ↔ DuckDB ↔ Lance 13 capability crosswalk (follow-up to #1787) - #1788
Conversation
Records the read-side mask, the measured H14c byte behaviour (uniform vs clustered), the word-level handoff via RoaringBitmap::from_lsb0_bytes, and the _rowid/stable-id caveat. …lk (#1787 follow-up) Source-backed crosswalk of 17 DuckDB capabilities (pinned @1641475) against DR64 / Quack / mask-risc / ndarray / DRF / Lance 13; re-audit of September gaps G1-G8; Lance 13 masked read (H14c #1573, H14d #1575) recorded as an existing layer with its byte behaviour explained from Lance source; coordinate domain table; cost ledger over five paths; missing-feature register; probes P1-P5 with one recommended (offline P1). Explicit corrections: the M2 input's "handoff must stay a fold", September R6 and R5. Coresearch exploration map in entries/. Documentation only. Append-only amendment to Appendix A. Records today's live PostgreSQL 16.15 parity runs (K3 WHERE, NULL operands, aggregates, contract normalize_kleene), the remaining SQL gaps for the scan use case, the ALLOW(K) == BLOCK(U\K) equivalence and its K3 counterexample (BLOCK(K(NOT P)) admits UNKNOWN rows), Lance 13's block universe and fail-open asymmetry, six BLOCK admission gates, and the chain verdict (semantics legal, ALLOW blocked by wiring, BLOCK by gates). Next step unchanged: P1. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01X6y3drwKSE2zSgoexheLFX
…n, P1 unchanged) Short delta over A.0-A.8, no rerun: SQL verified/missing status, ALLOW wiring blockers, why BLOCK stays gated, PgLance as a tuple-conversion reference arm only (Lance 1.0, no pushdown, no mask), and two DuckDB rules for the native ONNX/TFLite polyfill (table amortisation guard; complement only on the no-NULL path). Op-shape -> native-route table cites existing D-TFLP / D-NAM-PZL / D-NAM-3 lines. P1 stays next. …tence corrected Documentation only. Records that Lance row masks (ALLOW/BLOCK via with_row_addr_prefilter) apply only to reading sealed Lance versions; the lancedb 0.40 MemWAL has an internal PK block list, no external mask input and no stable _rowid. Writer ownership (MailboxSoA, BatchWriter, CycleWriter try_submit/seal_cycle) verified in source and left unchanged. A.9's DuckDB sentence now says amortisation only; the LUT/SIMD crossover stays a separate D-TFLP-2 measurement. P1 remains next. P1 reads only committed H14c/H14d Lance measurements and seeded masks; no M1 output feeds it. M1 status unchanged: parity passed, timing comparison inconclusive (boundaries differ). RowAddrMaskis a copy into a Lance-owned container, and Lance copies it twice more. The earlier "Roaring under KEEP" ruling covers our own containers; whether it extends to a foreign-owned one is not ruled. Until it is, nothing on that path is called zero-copy or a fold, and the DR → Lance wiring rows stay gated on this decision._rowidauthority. Choose the single authority: the dataset-version witness, the index-seal witness, or one that records both. A third map would add a third authority.Checks
