Make
fastremapoptional so core Trackastra installations can work on platforms where it is unavailable, including conda-forge Linux ARM. Installtrackastra[fast]to retain the accelerated backend; otherwise use the existing scikit-image relabeling path and NumPy unique-label detection. Includes a one-line README installation note and addsfastto theallextra.Tests cover both backends, missing imports, dense/sparse mappings, unmapped labels, dtype preservation, and lazy Dask execution. CI now includes tracking utilities in core tests and reruns them with the fast extra installed.
Validation: 20 tracking tests passed; tests also passed with fastremap absent before installation (9 passed, 9 optional-backend skips). Wheel metadata confirms fastremap is only required by the fast extra. Ruff and commit hooks passed.
