Package From To
python-dotenv 1.2.2 1.2.3
ruff 0.16.1 0.16.5
mypy 2.3.0 2.3.1
pydantic 2.13.4 2.13.5
mcp 2.0.0 2.1.1
limacharlie 5.6.1 5.6.2

Updates python-dotenv from 1.2.2 to 1.2.3

Release notes

Sourced from python-dotenv's releases.

v1.2.3

Fixed

  • Strip a leading UTF-8 BOM from .env file contents so the first variable is no longer silently lost when the file is saved with BOM (e.g. by some JetBrains IDEs on Windows) by [@h1whelan] in #640
  • set_key now escapes backslashes, so values containing them (Windows paths, regular expressions) survive a write/read round-trip. Quoted values ending in an escaped backslash are no longer mis-parsed as an escaped quote, which used to swallow the following lines by [@dchaudhari7177] in #680
  • dotenv run now prints a friendly error instead of a traceback when no command is given by [@bbc2] in #606
  • Cache the parsed result for empty .env files so repeated dotenv_values/load_dotenv calls no longer re-read the file by [@ReinerBRO] in #638

Mypy 2.2

We've just uploaded mypy 2.2.0 to the Python Package Index (PyPI). Mypy is a static type checker for Python. This release includes new features, performance improvements and bug fixes. You can install it as follows:

python3 -m pip install -U mypy

You can read the full documentation for this release on Read the Docs.

Support for Closed TypedDicts (PEP 728)

Mypy now supports closed TypedDicts as specified in PEP 728. A closed TypedDict cannot have extra keys beyond those explicitly defined. This allows the type checker to determine that certain operations are safe when they otherwise wouldn't be due to the potential presence of unknown keys.

You can use the closed keyword argument with TypedDict:

HasName = TypedDict("HasName", {"name": str})
HasOnlyName = TypedDict("HasOnlyName", {"name": str}, closed=True)
Movie = TypedDict("Movie", {"name": str, "year": int})
movie: Movie = {"name": "Nimona", "year": 2023}
has_name: HasName = movie # OK: HasName is open (default)
has_only_name: HasOnlyName = movie # Error: HasOnlyName is closed and Movie has extra "year" key
</tr></table>

Updates mcp from 2.0.0 to 2.1.1

Release notes

Sourced from mcp's releases.

v2.1.1

What's Changed

Full Changelog: modelcontextprotocol/python-sdk@v2.1.0...v2.1.1

v2.1.0

Highlights

  • Client accepts StdioServerParameters directly: Client(StdioServerParameters(command="uv", args=["run", "server.py"])) (#3321).
  • Prompt messages accept Image and Audio, prompt functions may return bare content blocks, and Message / UserMessage / AssistantMessage are exported from mcp.server.mcpserver (#3320).
  • The 4 MiB request body limit now also covers the SSE transport and the OAuth endpoints; SseServerTransport and MCPServer.sse_app() take max_request_body_size, and the SSE message endpoint answers 405 to non-POST requests (#3336).

Behaviour changes to be aware of

  • Handler exceptions (#3314): an unexpected exception from a tool, resource or prompt handler is logged once at ERROR with its traceback, and the client now sees only Error executing tool <name> (or the resource/prompt equivalent) rather than the exception text. Raise ToolError / ResourceError when the message is meant for the model; those still reach the client and are logged at INFO without a traceback.
  • Content-block return annotations (#3320): a tool annotated to return TextContent, EmbeddedResource, Image, Audio, or lists/unions of them no longer advertises outputSchema or returns structuredContent; its content is unchanged. Pass structured_output=True to keep the previous shape.

Fixes

  • TypedDict tool results: NotRequired keys are omitted instead of serialized as null, and registration no longer fails on Python 3.10 (#3224, #3227); recursive return types get an object-rooted outputSchema that pre-2026 clients accept (#3337).
  • 2026-07-28 over HTTP: a POSTed notification such as notifications/cancelled is acknowledged with 202 instead of rejected with 400 (#3324).
  • Pre-2026 sessions ignore cache-hint fields from later revisions instead of failing list_tools() (#3223), and accept boolean sub-schemas in tool schema properties (#3353).
  • mcp install reads and preserves a Claude Desktop config containing non-ASCII text on any Windows code page (#3296).

Changelog

Unreleased

Email Security

  • Tenant purge: limacharlie mailsec tenant purge / Mailsec.prepare_tenant_purge() and Mailsec.purge_tenant() permanently delete everything Email Security holds for an organization — the message index and the long-term evidence lane, campaigns, sender profiles, the remediation audit trail, user reports, the stored raw messages and their parsed copies, the link-detonation results, and the organization's Email Security connection and policy configuration — and stop the mail connections at Microsoft or Google so the provider stops sending notifications. Two-step like org delete: without --confirm the command prints the warning and mints a token and deletes nothing, and the token is single-use and expires after five minutes. Owner-level authority (mailsec.act and billing.ctrl and user.ctrl), and the optional --reason (max 1024 characters) is recorded in the organization's audit log next to the caller's identity. The purge is re-runnable: a partial one returns complete: false and counts what did NOT land beside what did, and the CLI exits non-zero in that case so a script cannot mistake a half-purged tenant for a finished one. Most organizations will never need it — the same data is deleted automatically 30 days after an organization unsubscribes from Email Security (a resubscribe inside that window cancels it) and immediately if the organization itself is deleted.
  • The mailsec SDK gained a _delete helper alongside _get/_post; it had no DELETE route until now.

Documentation

  • doc/cli/email-security.md: the mailsec command surface had no page in the CLI reference at all. Added one, and linked it — plus the Cloud Security page, which existed but was missing from doc/cli/README.md's index — from both command-reference tables.
