Less awkward camera navigation

I could help with this if requested.

• All characters look tiny, not very dramatic.
• can't click on map or use mouse to pan
• arrows keys pan too quickly
• mouse only looks around, which is useless, and only middle button works (some mice don't have that, such as a Mac with only one button in some cases)
• Zooming in zooms to the bottom instead of the middle.

I can make the pan speed to be adjustable.
I can make the zoom zooming to the middle of the camera, if you wish.

The two remedies offered in this thread are implemented in #40:

• pan speed is adjustable — slider on Settings → Input, 10%–300% of the current speed, applied live and saved;
• zoom goes to the middle — zooming now keeps the ground point at the screen centre fixed instead of dropping the camera straight down, so what you point at is what you zoom into (before/after screenshots on the PR).

Still open, pending an actual proposal: mouse click-to-pan / configurable mouse buttons ("what do you propose in here as a remedy?" never got an answer — a common scheme would be middle- or right-drag to pan, wheel to zoom, with the bindings in Settings → Input; if that sounds right it can be built on top of #40's config plumbing). "Characters look tiny" is a camera-default/FOV taste question that the adjustable zoom range partly addresses.

Maybe since left click and drag rotates and that is very unlikely to help (except for machinima or something), maybe make left click and drag pan, and right (and ctrl-click for Apple users) could be rotate. I know the reverse is common such as in CAD or something but not as discoverable if left click rotates--that seems like it would be jarring and make people give up, since rotating does not contribute to gameplay.

Maybe start with slightly higher zoom level; possibly even start with a closeup at the start of a scenario then slow zoom to a happy medium. That is technically a separate issue.

No drag-to-pan is planned. Camera control comes from #51 (progressive edge scrolling), #82 (keyboard and X/Z + mouse rotate and zoom, no middle button needed) and #83 (click on the minimap or full map to move there). The default zoom distance is still open.
