Running the Backend

Navigate to the backend directory:

cd backend

Start the application:

mvn spring-boot:run

The backend will start on:

http://localhost:8080

Swagger UI

http://localhost:8080/swagger-ui.html

H2 Console

http://localhost:8080/h2-console

Running the Frontend

Navigate to the frontend directory:

cd frontend

Install dependencies:

npm install

Start the development server:

npm run dev

The frontend will start on:

http://localhost:5173 (otherwise check the terminal for the correct url)

Design Decisions

• Layered architecture (Controller, Service, Repository)
• DTO pattern used to separate API contracts from persistence entities
• Global exception handling for consistent error responses
• Bean Validation for request validation
• H2 in-memory database for simplicity and portability
