numcodecs 0.17.0 moved to a src/ layout and relocated its test suite from numcodecs/tests/ (inside the importable package) to a top-level tests/ directory. `pytest --pyargs numcodecs -q` therefore collects nothing in the wheel-only test cwd (exit code 5, "no tests ran"), failing all three cp312/cp313/cp314 build jobs identically. Stage the checkout's tests/ and pyproject.toml via CIBW_TEST_SOURCES (no numcodecs/ shadow exists at the checkout root to guard against) and run pytest against that staged directory instead of --pyargs. Verified locally (x86_64, Python 3.12): installed the released PyPI numcodecs==0.17.0 wheel into a venv, staged tests/ + pyproject.toml into an empty directory the same way CIBW_TEST_SOURCES would, and ran the resulting CIBW_TEST_COMMAND: 646 passed, 33 skipped, 2 failed. Both failures are FileNotFoundError: zstd (the CLI binary, not on this host's PATH) - exactly the gap CIBW_BEFORE_TEST_LINUX already patches with `dnf -y install zstd` inside the manylinux container. numcodecs' meson.build calls setuptools_scm.get_version() without dist_name (src/numcodecs/_build_utils/gitversion.py), so the _FOR_NUMCODECS suffixed form is never consulted and the patch-dirtied tree falls through to a real git-derived dev version (0.17.1.dev0+g<sha>.d<date>), which the publish job then rejects as undeclared.
