(quick git tip: those extra commits are from merge commits combining upstream main with your fork's divergent history. You can avoid that by always branching directly off a commit in the upstream main when making new changes. It helps to keep your fork's main "clean", i.e. make no local changes, and only fast-forward merge upstream main). |
