Points the Snapchat Web Lenses post at the new web-lens starter, released in create-playcanvas 0.11.1, so readers get a working Lens game in one command and publish it with another.

  • 1. Choose Your Workflow (Option A): the scaffold command is now npm create playcanvas@latest my-lens -- --starter web-lens. A short paragraph says what the starter includes (a small portrait game with leaderboards, storage and Bitmoji wired up), that your agent replaces the game and keeps the Snapchat setup, and how to pick React or Web Components.
  • 3. Build Your Game: starter users get a simple example prompt, since the starter already handles the portrait layout, the safe area, relative paths and packaging. The original prompt with the platform constraints stays for everyone else.
  • 4. Integrate the Web Lens API: notes that the starter already includes the API, in src/lens.ts. The npm install step is now for other Engine projects.
  • 5. Publish to Snapchat: "Build your game" and "Zip the build" become a single "Package your game" step. Starter projects run npm run package, which builds the game, checks it against Snap's upload rules and writes the zip. The manual zip instructions, including the Compress-Archive warning, stay for Editor and other projects, so the list goes from five steps to four.

npm run lint and npm run build pass. Both commands in the post work against the published create-playcanvas 0.11.1, including from an AI agent with no terminal.

Smoke test

  1. Open /snapchat-now-supports-playcanvas-games and go to "Option A: PlayCanvas Engine + Your Favorite LLM". It shows npm create playcanvas@latest my-lens -- --starter web-lens and the paragraph about the starter.
  2. Go to "3. Build Your Game". The starter prompt comes first, followed by "Otherwise, a good prompt states the platform constraints up front:" and the original prompt.
  3. Go to "5. Publish to Snapchat". The list has four steps, and the first one, "Package your game", mentions npm run package.
