Adds an unlisted announcement post, "Snapchat Now Supports PlayCanvas Games", introducing Snapchat Web Lenses to PlayCanvas developers.

What's in it

  • Hero: the narrated announcement video on YouTube (unlisted: KWFpxVWrwuc)
  • What Web Lenses are, with an at-a-glance box (zip limits, portrait display, sandbox, Web Lens API)
  • Why they matter: Snapchat's 971M monthly users, no install, and monetization through Lens+
  • Spotlights on Bloom (NOWWA), Ball Smasher (MetaM), Snake Showdown (Elanra Studios) and Bitmoji Ski (Snap): a looping 15s gameplay clip, intro, developer quote and Snapcode for each
  • Easy Lens, for no-code game creation
  • Five-step guide: Engine + AI agent or Editor + MCP Server, the PlayCanvas Skills, building, the Web Lens API (leaderboards, Bitmoji, storage, with code samples) and publishing
  • Call to action: #snapchat-web-lenses on Discord, and tag PlayCanvas when sharing

A new GameSpotlight component lays out each game section, with the portrait video beside the text and Snapcode. It stacks to one column on narrow screens.

Before publishing

  • Swap in final images for the Bitmoji and leaderboard features if the gameplay stills aren't final
  • Remove unlisted: true and redate the file to the publish day
  • Make the YouTube video public

Smoke test

  1. Open /snapchat-now-supports-playcanvas-games. The post loads with the YouTube video as its hero.
  2. Scroll to the game spotlights. Each clip autoplays and loops, with its Snapcode beside the text, and stacks to one column on a phone-width window.
  3. Check the leaderboard notification image and code samples in the Web Lens API section.

Introduces Snapchat Web Lenses to PlayCanvas developers: what they are,
the audience and Lens+ monetization, spotlights on Bloom, Ball Smasher,
Snake Showdown and Bitmoji Ski, Easy Lens for no-code creation, and a
getting-started guide covering the Engine + AI and Editor + MCP
workflows, the PlayCanvas Skills, the Web Lens API (leaderboards,
Bitmoji, storage) and publishing. The narrated announcement video on
YouTube is the hero.

Adds a GameSpotlight component for the per-game sections: a looping
portrait gameplay clip beside the intro, developer quote and Snapcode,
stacking to one column on narrow screens.

Pointing the Snapchat camera at a Snapcode is enough to open it; there's
no need to press and hold.

A Snapcode is also a QR code, so the regular camera app opens the game
straight in Snapchat too.

GameSpotlight now attaches each gameplay clip's source only when the
spotlight comes within 600px of the viewport. Autoplay makes browsers
ignore preload, so the static src fetched all four clips (13 MB) on page
load. The box keeps the clips' aspect ratio until the source arrives.

The Bitmoji sample now returns null on the desktop stub, which reports an
avatar but serves an empty placeholder model, so callers fall back to
their bundled character as Snap's Bitmoji guide recommends.
