feat(web): rename saved environments from settings - #31245
On web and desktop, a saved environment keeps the label it was added with, which is usually the server's. You can't tell machines apart by a name you chose, though the iOS app can already edit this label.
To reproduce on main: open Settings → Environments, then the … menu on a saved environment. There's no way to change its name.
Change
Adds a Rename… item to the environment's … menu, which opens a small dialog with one Label field. Web and desktop share this component. As on iOS, the item is hidden for any environment with a T3 Connect route.
EnvironmentRegistry.setLabel relabels every route of the environment, persists the result, and is exposed as the environmentCatalog.setLabel command.
It doesn't reuse updateBearer, the path iOS uses. That edits only the first bearer route, while the UI displays the first route's label overall. With learned routes, a rename could fail or never show up, and rebuilding the profile could turn a learned route into a saved one.
Credentials, addresses and pull request sharing permissions are unchanged. The label stays local to the device, so there are no contract, server or MCP changes.
Renaming keeps the connection open. The running supervisor keeps the old label for its own error messages and tracing until it's next recreated, while the row, menu and saved entry update right away.
Behaviour to review:
Renaming rebuilds the connection, as route reordering and iOS edits do. The row still showed Connected at every check after saving, starting about 100 ms in.
Re-pairing an address, or pairing a new one that sorts first, can bring back the server's label. This comes from reading the code and looks the same on iOS. I left it alone to keep this change small.
SSH environments can be renamed. The mobile app has no SSH connection path, so there's no iOS behaviour to match.
vp test run src/connection/registry.test.ts, run from packages/client-runtime: a new case renames an environment with a learned, a bearer and a T3 Connect route, because setLabel itself handles every route type. It checks that every stored route and profile has the new label, the learned flag and credential are kept, and a blank label is rejected. An added assertion checks that pull request sharing permissions survive a rename.
vp run check:changed passes: format, lint, knip, typecheck of affected packages, tests beside changes, and the React compiler check.
I repeated the rename, reload and dialog checks on the final code. While renaming, the status stayed Connected and no new WebSocket opened; switching the environment off and on, as a control, opened one.
Manual, in the web dev client against a second local server, paired as a remote environment with one bearer route, both on isolated state:
The menu shows Rename…. The dialog opens prefilled with the current label and takes focus.
A blank label disables Save.
Save closes the dialog and updates the row, which stays Connected.
The new name is still there after a full page reload, and the old name no longer appears on the page.
Reopening prefills the new name. Cancel discards an edit. Focus returns to the … button on close.
These manual checks ran before I added the condition that hides Rename for T3 Connect environments, and I didn't repeat them afterwards.
Not checked
The packaged desktop app.
That Rename… is hidden on a real T3 Connect environment. The condition uses the same hasRelayRoute check as iOS, but I had no T3 Connect environment to test with.
Renaming a real SSH environment.

Route labels and registry update packages/client-runtime/src/connection/routes.ts, packages/client-runtime/src/connection/supervisor.ts, packages/client-runtime/src/connection/registry.ts, packages/client-runtime/src/connection/registry.test.ts, packages/client-runtime/src/connection/supervisor.test.ts
The registry trims labels, rejects whitespace-only values, and updates route and profile labels. The supervisor updates its catalog entry and retains the current label during route learning. Tests cover saved profiles, credentials, active sessions, reconnects, SSH targets, and routing permissions.

Renaming an environment works and keeps the connection open. Two narrow gaps remain. An SSH environment whose target was updated by the broker could reconnect with the older target after a rename. In the rename dialog, a label edit made after pressing Save can be lost. Both are bounded, so the change is mergeable, but they are worth fixing in this PR or a follow-up.

Web and desktop could not change a saved environment's label after adding
it, although the iOS app can.
Add a Rename item to the environment menu, backed by a new
EnvironmentRegistry.setLabel. It relabels every route rather than reusing
updateBearer, which edits only the first bearer route: the app displays the
first route's label, so a rename could fail or never show on an environment
with learned routes. Credentials, addresses and pull request sharing
permissions are unchanged.
As on iOS, the item is hidden for any environment with a T3 Connect route.

Retain the live supervisor for label-only updates.
Saving a new label reaches replaceRoutesLocked, which closes the active EnvironmentSupervisor and creates a new one. A connected saved environment can therefore disconnect and reset its runtime connection state during rename. Add a label-only update path that persists the renamed routes while retaining the existing supervisor. Passing retainEquivalentRuntime: true alone is insufficient because that option requires the complete entries to be equal.

Renaming went through replaceRoutesLocked, which closes the supervisor and
creates a new one, so a label change dropped a healthy connection.
Update the saved routes, lease and entry in place, as learnRoutes and
setEnabled do. A label changes no address, so the session can stay. The
running supervisor keeps the old label for its own messages until it is next
recreated.

The registry reused the supervisor on rename but left its retained entry on the
old labels. A later reconnect passed that entry to the resolver, and the SSH
broker saves the profile it is handed, so the old label was written back.
Relabel the retained entry when the environment is renamed, keeping its routes.
Only the registry needs this, so it comes from make rather than the service
that sessions and test stubs implement.

Reset the rename form when the dialog reopens.
DialogPopup retains closed children, so RenameEnvironmentForm does not remount after Cancel. A user can reopen the same row and save the previously discarded label. Key the form by the open state so each opening initializes it from the current saved label.

Show an error when a rename fails.
When setEnvironmentLabel does not succeed, save does nothing visible. The shared command wrapper defaults to reportFailure: true, and that default only writes to the console. The dialog stays open with no message. A persistence failure, or an environment removed while the dialog is open, therefore looks like Save did nothing. Comparable settings components show an error toast for failed user actions, for example SavedEnvironmentRows.tsx and AddEnvironmentDialog.tsx.
Suggested fix
import { Input } from "../ui/input";
import { Label } from "../ui/label";
+import { toastManager } from "../ui/toast";
...
const result = await setEnvironmentLabel({ environmentId, label });
if (result._tag === "Success") onDone();
+ else+ toastManager.add({+ type: "error",+ title: "Could not rename environment",+ description: "The label was not saved.",+ });

Route learning wrote its entry to the supervisor after the registry released
its lock, so a rename landing in that gap went back to the old label on the
next reconnect. Apply the supervisor's current label to the learned entry.
A failed rename only logged to the console and left the dialog looking as if
Save did nothing. Show the failure in a toast and keep the dialog open.
The SSH broker saves a freshly resolved target only to the profile store, so the
in-memory profile can be older. Renaming wrote that older profile back, which
restored the previous host and made the next connect revoke pull request
sharing permission.
Relabel the stored profile instead, falling back to the in-memory one.

Keep the form stable while Save is pending.
If a user edits Label after pressing Save, the first request can succeed and onDone() closes the dialog before the new edit is saved. Save also remains available for another submission. Track the pending request, disable editing and repeat submission, and show “Saving…” until it settles. useAtomCommand does not provide a pending guard. (raw.githubusercontent.com)
Based on learnings, a submit handler needs a pending guard, completion cleanup, and loading feedback.

Use the saved SSH profile in the live entry.
If the SSH broker has saved a newer profile.target, this code relabels that profile in storage, but renamed and lease.supervisor keep the older target. On reconnect, the SSH resolver passes the older target to ssh.prepare. Build the registry and supervisor entries from the saved profile as well, and extend the SSH test to check the reconnect target.
