Prepare patch release 0.17.1 for the existing Crabbox fixes, dependency refreshes, security analysis updates, and macOS release preflight improvements. No new public API or product feature is included.
Preserve all six Unreleased bullets verbatim, order them by practical impact, add a dated release section and highlights, retain the empty Unreleased section, and update the documented dry-run version. Historical release sections are byte-identical.
Validation: unchanged code passed
make checkon Crabbox and all checks on merged main; all 32 release preflight regression tests,actionlint, bullet-preservation checks, and P0–P3 independent Codex autoreview passed. Publication will use the unified workflow only after this PR and its exact merge commit are green, followed by a successful dry run.
