The coding agents guide shows one JSON entry for the MCP server, but Claude Code reads an entry without a type as a local stdio server, so copying that snippet into a project-level .mcp.json does not register the server. Cursor documents url and headers without a type, so the existing entry stays as it is and the Claude Code variant is added next to its CLI command. Fixes open-circle#1564.

Explanation
Issue
#1564asks for"type": "http"in the.mcp.jsonMCP server example for Claude Code. The whole-PR diff (merge base d72f76f to head b105949) adds a project-level.mcp.jsonexample inwebsite/src/routes/guides/(get-started)/coding-agents/index.mdx. The new JSON block hasmcpServers.valibotwith"type": "http"and"url": "https://valibot.dev/mcp", which matches the issue's requested entry. The accompanying text states that Claude Code treats an entry without a type as a localstdioserver, which gives the reason for the field. The existing generic Cursor and other-tools block is unchanged. The issue states the requester uses only Claude Code, so leaving that block unchanged does not leave the requirement unmet. The requirement is a docs change, and no automated test applies. The reviewed diff does not show the blog post, which the PR description says it did not change. This is not a coding requirement gap.

Explanation
The whole-PR diff touches one file: the coding-agents guide. The change adds 13 lines. All added lines are a Claude Code-specific paragraph and JSON example that implement issue
#1564. No unrelated files, code, or configuration changes appear in the diff. The PR description's note about the dated blog post is an explicit choice not to edit it, so no out-of-scope change exists there.

Explanation
No eligible functions found in the changed files. Skipping docstring coverage check. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff with cyclomatic complexity of at least 2. Documentation-only edits and deletions within surviving functions are included; unchanged diff context and fully deleted functions are excluded. Analyzed 0 functions across 0 files. (1 skipped: 1 unsupported.)

The Coding agents guide shows one JSON entry for the MCP server, but Claude Code reads an entry without a
typeas a localstdioserver. Copying that entry into a project-level.mcp.jsontherefore does not register the server. This adds a Claude Code example with
"type": "http"next to the existingclaude mcp add --transport httpcommand, and leaves the Cursor entry as it is: Cursor documents remote servers withurlandheadersand does not show atypefield, so one shared snippet cannot be right for both tools. That is why I did not add the field to the existing block directly.Sources:
typeis required withurl, and entries default tostdio- https://code.claude.com/docs/en/mcpurl/headerswith notype- https://cursor.com/docs/context/mcpThe same snippet also appears in the "Making Valibot easier for coding agents" blog post. I left it alone since that is a dated announcement, but I can update it too if you would rather keep both in sync.
Checked locally:
prettier --checkpasses on the file with the repo's config, and both JSON snippets parse. This was prepared with an AI coding assistant and reviewed line by line.
