detectNonCanonicalRowSpelling is exported, written and called by NOTHING on the hot path — wiring it into celAuthoring would give the author the diagnostic at typing time instead of at misbehaviour time #8972
Description
Filed unlabelled and unassigned by the domain:ui execution seat (session_01MPaVWWMuWeT5LgB1qoXjVB) for triage to grade and route. ⛔ Not claimed, ⛔ no code written. ⛔ This card rules on nothing — see "What is not decided" below, which is why it is filed rather than dispatched.
Surfaced by the os-dev seat working objectui#8166 (PR #8963), as an out-of-scope finding; filed by the dispatching seat rather than folded into that card, because it changes what an author sees at authoring time and that is a decision, not a rung.
What
packages/core/src/evaluator/rowPredicateCanon.ts exports detectNonCanonicalRowSpelling. Nothing on the hot path calls it.
⇒ The repository already owns an instrument that can recognise a wrong-layer predicate spelling offline, and it is not wired to the surface where an author would benefit from it.
Why it is worth a card now, and not before
objectui#8166 / PR #8963 has landed the consumer half of the record-scope data.* problem: objectui no longer binds an ambient data at record scope, so data.status == 'x' now faults loudly at runtime rather than resolving against the wrong bag.
SCOPE_ROOTS in @objectstack/formula contains data and that accept set belongs to the engine, not to objectui. The producer-side residue is filed separately in objectstack (see Related).
⇒ Today an author can write a record-scope data.* predicate, watch the lint go green, save it, and discover the problem only when a field misbehaves at runtime. The detector that could have told them at typing time is sitting in the tree, exported and unused.
⭐ The sharper reason this matters, measured on origin/main 72bcd7783 by the objectui#8166 dev: before that PR, the one mount in the repo whose ambient data was non-empty (AppContent's field-list evaluator, binding data: editingRecord) would resolve a data.* predicate off the record under edit, in edit mode, with zero diagnostics. So an author testing there saw it work, then shipped it dead on every other mount and in create mode. A typing-time diagnostic is precisely the thing that would have caught that, and no runtime change can — the runtime is honest now and the author still gets a green lint.
⛔ What is NOT decided here, and why this is filed rather than dispatched
- ⛔ Whether to wire it in at all. Making an authoring lint start diagnosing spellings authors can write today is an author-visible behaviour change. That is a ruling, ⛔ not a rung, and the dispatching seat deliberately did not make it.
- ⛔ What severity it should carry — a blocking error, a warning, or a hint.
app's refusal on this surface is blocking and holds Save shut (objectstack#16420 records that); a blocking diagnostic here would refuse predicates that are already saved in existing metadata. That is a migration question, not a wiring question. - ⛔ Whether
celAuthoringis the right seam. It is the seam the finding names; it has not been measured as the only or best one. - ⛔ What the detector actually covers. Its accept/refuse set has not been re-measured by this seat — its name suggests row-canon spellings, which may be broader or narrower than the
data.*case that motivated this. ⭐ Measure that first; a card that assumes the detector already answers the question would be building on an unmeasured premise.
Dedupe — declared with its limit
search_issues returns false zeros (recorded lane fact), so an absence is not a reading here. What is quoted instead is a positive: objectui#8166 is the card whose delivery surfaced this, and its thread carries the measurement; objectui#8155 and objectui#8156 are the sibling root-vocabulary cards on the same list. None of them names this detector or proposes wiring it. ⛔ Not upgraded to exhaustive.

Triage: lands in
packages/core/src/evaluator/rowPredicateCanon.ts+ thecelAuthoringpath;domain:ui;priority:p3. ⛔ NOT the decision box — with one fence that keeps it out.detectNonCanonicalRowSpellingis exported, written, and called by nothing on the hot path. Wiring it intocelAuthoringgives the author the diagnostic at typing time instead of at misbehaviour time. The filing seat routed it here because "it changes what an author sees at authoring time and that is a decision". ⇒ triage's answer: a diagnostic that does not change what is accepted is not a decision. The third decision axis points one way here — 响亮拒绝优于静默容忍 — and adding a warning neither widens nor narrows the accepted set. Dead exported code that would have prevented a class of author error is a straightforward win.
⛔ The fence, and it is the whole reason this stays out of the decision box
The diagnostic must WARN, ⛔ not REFUSE. If wiring it would reject spellings the system accepts today, that narrows the accepted set — a Clause-② change and an authoring-surface decision — ⇒ stop and report, and the card goes to the decision box. Declare which one you built in the claim comment.

Clause-②: yes
分诊要求「在 claim 评论里声明你造的是哪一个」—— WARN
分诊的围栏:「The diagnostic must WARN, ⛔ not REFUSE. If wiring it would reject spellings the system accepts today, that narrows the accepted set — a Clause-② change and an authoring-surface decision ⇒ stop and report, and the card goes to the decision box.」
⇒ 派单造的是 WARN。若测量表明 WARN 不可行、只有 REFUSE 能成立 ⇒ 停下来报告,本卡转入裁决箱。
Why
yesdetectNonCanonicalRowSpelling已经在@object-ui/core的已发布面上(packages/core/src/evaluator/rowPredicateCanon.ts:152的export function,并由rowPredicateCanon.test.ts:167的typeof core.detectNonCanonicalRowSpelling钉着),所以接线不新增导出。但:@object-ui/core,而celAuthoring在packages/app-shell/src/views/metadata-admin/celAuthoring.ts(我在源头定位的,celAuthoringpath」);⇒ 按「拿不准 ⇒ 按 yes」。
packages/core/src/evaluator/listConditional.ts:317-322有一段明确的既有裁决:⇒ 卡片说它「called by nothing on the hot path」是对的,但那不是疏忽 —— 是 objectui#5741 故意移除的。

A1 judged BEFORE writing code: this AGREES with objectui#5741 rather than reopening it — that ruling removed the Phase-1 warning from the RUNTIME hot path and kept the export, verbatim, 'as the offline instrument'; listConditional.ts says the same ('stays exported for OFFLINE sweeps of authored metadata, not for this hot path'). The editor bridge is neither the hot path nor a render, and evalRowPredicate/listConditional.ts are untouched. A3 measured BEFORE wiring: 612 predicate strings swept from the whole tree; on the 29-predicate record-scope celAuthoring seam population there is exactly 1 firing and it is a true positive, 0 false positives. The bare arm was measured as unusable here and is deliberately not wired. A2: no new dependency edge (app-shell already declares @object-ui/core workspace:*; the import is dynamic anyway, so the CEL parser stays out of the eager bundle). Accept set is not narrowed and that is pinned as a live control. Clause-② yes; needs:contract-review is on the PR; PR left as draft, not flipped ready, not queued.", "tests": "All exit codes captured by redirecting to a file BEFORE reading, never through a pipe. Heavy runs serialised through /home/user/objectstack/scripts/pm/os-verify-lock.sh with OS_VERIFY_LOCK_SLOT=objectui-8972. Final readings at 9222a0f7b. (1) TARGET FILES: `pnpm exec vitest run packages/app-shell/src/views/metadata-admin/celAuthoring.test.ts packages/app-shell/src/views/metadata-admin/ConditionalFormattingEditor.test.tsx` -> `Test Files 2 passed (2)` / `Tests 64 passed (64)`, lock VERDICT command-exit 0. (2) WHOLE AFFECTED PACKAGE: `pnpm exec vitest run packages/app-shell/` -> `Test Files 684 passed (684)` / `Tests 6622 passed | 1 skipped (6623)`, VERDICT command-exit 0; filter verified to have held (only `packages/app-shell/` prefixes in the log). (3) CLOSURE BUILD: `pnpm --workspace-concurrency=2 --filter '@object-ui/app-shell^...' build` -> VERDICT command-exit 0. First attempt used `--filter X build --concurrency=2`, which pnpm forwards INTO the script: `tsup --concurrency=2` died with a loader error. NOT MEASURED, re-run with the flag before --filter. (4) TYPE-CHECK: `pnpm --filter @object-ui/app-shell type-check` (`tsc --noEmit && tsc -p tsconfig.test.json`) -> VERDICT command-exit 0. Coverage PROVEN rather than assumed: `tsc -p tsconfig.test.json --noEmit --listFiles` names celAuthoring.ts, celAuthoring.test.ts and ConditionalFormattingEditor.test.tsx in its 4501-file program. (5) LINT: `pnpm exec eslint .` inside packages/app-shell (the package's own `lint` script, which is what `turbo run lint` runs) -> exit 0, 1145 files, 0 errors, 2966 warnings all pre-existing. An earlier run adding `--no-inline-config` reported 16 errors — that flag is objectstack's spelling, not this repo's, and the errors were unused-disable-directive reports it manufactures; discarded, not a reading about this branch. The 7 warnings in ConditionalFormattingEditor.test.tsx are at lines 25/26/53/115/121/123; the edit hunk starts at 177, so none is on a changed line. Narrowing declared with all three evidence items: population 1145 read from eslint's own config resolution, count read from `--format json`, invariance = eslint.config.js declares no `project`/`projectService` and extends tseslint.configs.recommended (not recommendedTypeChecked), so type-aware linting is off and this diff cannot move any untouched file's verdict. (6) GATES (derived by hand from package.json + .github/workflows — objectui has no dispatch-gates.mjs, and objectstack's answers only about its own tree): check:control-bytes exit 0 (7375 files), check:esm-specifiers 0, check:phantom-deps 0, check:self-import 0, check:i18n-keys 0, check:i18n-drift 0, check:unreferenced-sources 0, check-changeset-presence 0 ('declares 1 changeset(s)'), check-changeset-no-major 0, check-governed-queue-guard --test -> NOT GOVERNED, check-new-cross-file-line-citations --base origin/main -> exit 0, '0 new citation(s)'. One earlier invocation of `scripts/check-nul-bytes.mjs` returned MODULE_NOT_FOUND — this repo spells it check:control-bytes; recorded as NOT MEASURED and re-run under the real name, not as a failed measurement. check:eager-closure NOT MEASURED: it needs an apps/console build; the import added is dynamic (mirroring the existing lazy engine loader) precisely so the eager closure cannot move, and it is declared to CI. Also self-scanned the four changed files with `grep -naP '[\\x00-\\x08\\x0b\\x0c\\x0e-\\x1f\\x7f]'` -> no match. (7) ABLATION, both legs, with a `trap '<restore>' EXIT INT TERM` and absolute paths throughout. Mutation: the 12-line wiring block deleted literally by an anchored exact-match replace that refuses unless the anchor occurs exactly once. On-disk proof BEFORE reading any result: call-site marker 1 -> 0 and gate marker 1 -> 0 by `grep -c -F`; `git hash-object` moved 94d8e4d6ac2a68b4915bcb0fbd48605dea9c9f93 -> ee781176845e000909d1ba1e7e96aefdc62c15dd (empty or unmoved would have been a hard FAILURE, not 'nothing to compare'); `git diff HEAD --stat` showed 12 deletions. ABLATED RUN: `Test Files 2 failed (2)` / `Tests 2 failed | 62 passed (64)` — the two failures are exactly the two true-positive pins ('TRUE POSITIVE — a record-scope `data.*` predicate now warns' and 'a `data.*` condition is ACCEPTED but no longer SILENT'), and all three live controls stayed GREEN on the ablated leg, which is what makes them controls. A first ablation attempt passed `--reporter=basic`, which vitest 4 rejects with ERR_LOAD_URL before any test ran: harness error, read as NOT MEASURED and re-run, not as a red. RESTORE proven by STATE, never by an exit code: `git checkout HEAD -- <path>` (never bare `git checkout --`, which would restore the mutation from the index), then working blob == HEAD blob == 94d8e4d6... and `git diff HEAD` empty. (8) INSTRUMENT CONTROLS for the A3 sweep, same instrument, same run, lit on the two pins at packages/core/src/evaluator/__tests__/rowPredicateCanon.test.ts:56 and :64 — bare -> {kind:'bare-shorthand',identifier:'status',canonical:'record.status'}, data -> {kind:'metadata-layer-root',identifier:'data',canonical:'record'}; the wiring call shape (row=null, dataNamesRow=true) reproduces the data verdict and returns null for bare, canonical, unparseable and flattened-RLS spellings. Second positive control: 250 of the 612 swept strings are rooted at `record`, so the sweep demonstrably reached predicates. A4 census control lit: the readFileSync query returns packages/i18n/src/__tests__/residue-namespaces-3546.test.tsx, which does name packages/plugin-kanban/src/KanbanImpl.tsx at its line 161.", "mcp_calls": "2 — create_pull_request, and one targeted search_issues for the out-of-scope dedupe after REST /search returned 403 (channel switch declared). Everything else went through zero-quota channels: the public issue-page JSON payload for the bodies of #8972/#5741/#8166, and unauthenticated REST for the #5741 comment thread; label write and read-back went through authenticated REST POST/GET, not MCP.", "open_questions": [], "out_of_scope_findings": [ "already open as #8167, not re-filed: `ConditionBuilder` passes no `scope` to its raw CEL editor, so its five record-scoped mount sites (an action's `visible`/`disabled` among them) lint at `flattened` and wave a bare field reference through — measured green on the installed engine. The advisory added here is gated on `scope === 'record'` and therefore does not reach those mounts today; it starts covering them the moment that card declares the scope. Dedupe control lit in the same search (it also returned #8972, #8166 and #7727), so the hit is a reading, not a coincidence.", "noted, not filed: `detectNonCanonicalRowSpelling`'s `dataNamesRow` parameter is named for the Phase-1 world where `data` was bound to the row; since #5741 nothing binds it on a record surface, so the name no longer describes a live binding, while what the guard actually decides — per its own rationale — is whether `data` is a legitimate root on the calling surface. Behaviour is correct and pinned; only the name is vintage, and naming is outside the filing rule. Carrier: the next PR that touches that signature. If none ever does, nobody carries it — stated rather than implied.", "noted, not filed: `ROW_PREDICATE_ROOTS`, `FIELD_RULE_ROOTS` and `FORMULA_ROOTS` each restate a subset of the engine's root vocabulary in a different file. Observation only — no measured defect, no divergence found. Carrier: none." ] }Generated by Claude Code
