Epic #12446, decisions 1 and 3. Measured on objectui main a2225f91, Data pillar, Form tab for crm_account: a second sub-tab row (Layout / Preview) with a trailing badge sentence, then an info strip, then a bordered card per section ("Basic Information") whose fields are bordered boxes with the label, a type word and a disabled input — five nesting levels under the object header. Section settings is an icon at the card's right; there is no "add" affordance in the toolbar.
Target
Under the object header and tab row of the Data pillar card:
- Form toolbar, 12 px vertical padding, white, bottom border: a compact segmented control (24 px items) Layout / Preview; a 12 px muted hint "Drag fields to arrange · click a field to edit its properties"; at the right "Add section" (outline chip) and "Add field" (primary-soft chip), both 28 px. The badge sentences of today's Layout / Preview row move into the control's titles; the read-only card owns the read-only strip.
- Canvas, sidebar-tinted, 24 px padding, 16 px between sections.
- Section card: white, 1 px border, 8 px radius; a 44 px header with a 14 px / 600 title, "N fields" at 12 px muted, a drag grip at the left and the section settings icon button at the right; a 3-column grid body (
repeat(3, minmax(0, 1fr)), 8 px gap, 12 px padding). A field that spans (textarea, rich text) takes two columns. - Field card: 10 px by 12 px padding, 6 px radius, transparent border that turns muted on hover; a 13 px / 500 label (red asterisk when required), a 10 px uppercase type tag beside it, then a 32 px skeleton input (56 px for textarea; a select skeleton with a chevron for picklists). Selected: 1 px primary border plus a 3 px primary-soft ring; the type tag turns primary.
- Footer: a dashed 44 px "Add a section" button under the last section.
Drag-and-drop, keyboard reordering and their announcements (objectui#11802, #11871, #11898) are untouched; only presentation moves.
File surface
packages/app-shell/src/views/studio-design/ObjectFormDesigner.tsx, ObjectGroupInspector.tsx (trigger only), StudioDesignSurface.tsx (the Form tab's sub-tab row and strips), packages/app-shell/src/views/metadata-admin/i18n.ts (the new toolbar hint; existing engine.studio.data.form.* keys stay).
Acceptance
- The Form tab shows exactly one toolbar row between the object tab row and the first section card.
- Selected field shows the ring; the selection opens the field inspector exactly as today (
DataPillar.inspectorBelongsToView-11781stays green). ObjectFormDesigner.test.tsx,dndAnnouncements-11802,keyboardDrop-11871,keyboardGrid-11898,roleDescription-11872,readOnlyDescription-11924,ObjectGroupInspector.test.tsx,DataPillar.layoutBadge.test.tsxstay green or are updated in the same PR for the moved badge, each ablated once.- Before/after screenshots, light and dark.
Constraints
- Tailwind utilities and theme tokens only; no inline style.
- Existing
data-testids and i18n keys stay. - Gates:
pnpm --filter @object-ui/app-shell test,lint,build. - Lands after the shared inspector card and the Data pillar card (the Blocked-by lines below).
Reference artboard
docs/design/studio-redesign/data-form.html on objectui main (landed in #12458); data-form.png is its 1280 px render. The folder's README carries the shared numbers and what a pull request against this card must show: two screenshots per artboard it touches (light and dark, 1280 px, cropped to the artboard's region), a deviation list with a reason per line, and the card's named tests green or updated. Where this card and the artboard disagree, this card's numbers win and the disagreement is reported here.
