plugin-approvals: past the 1000-row suspended-run page, a revise-window recall on a batch item cannot find its batch run and leaves it parked #28230
Filing gate: out-of-scope finding of the #28183 dev (os-dev report 6529875250), source PR #28228, filed at seat 4's request. ⛔ Not a claim. No grade: triage sets the lane and grade.
Reach: any batch approval flow (a map over approval items, e.g. showcase_release_signoff → one_task_signoff) on a deployment whose durable suspended-run store (ObjectStoreSuspendedRunStore) holds more than 1000 paused rows, when a submitter recalls a batch item from its revise window.
Reader who acts: domain:server (packages/services/service-automation for the engine member, packages/plugins/plugin-approvals for the caller).
What the code does (read, not measured)
PR #28228 makes the revise-window recall wake the batch: after cancelRun on the item's run, ApprovalService.resumeBatchOfRecalledItem (packages/plugins/plugin-approvals/src/approval-service.ts) finds the batch run as the entry of listSuspendedRunsDurable() whose correlation is map:<itemRunId>, then resumes it. listSuspendedRunsDurable is the deployment-wide listing (readSuspendedRuns('degrade') in service-automation/src/run-history.ts), which a DB-backed store serves from ObjectStoreSuspendedRunStore.list(): one page, limit: 1000, in driver order. Past 1000 parked runs the batch run may not be on that page. The lookup then finds nothing, and the recall answers exactly as it did before PR #28228: the batch stays parked on the cancelled item, and nothing tells the caller (resumeError stays empty, nothing is logged).
Wanted (route is triage's)
A precise lookup instead of a page scan. The item run's own suspension context already carries its batch: map-node.ts launches each item with $parentRunId (and $parentMapNode). The fix this finding proposes: an engine member in engine.ts / run-resume.ts that answers the batch run for an item run id from the item's $parentRunId (read before or by cancelRun, since cancelRun forgets the item's suspension row), declared on ApprovalResumeSurface and called by the recall in place of the listSuspendedRunsDurable scan. Measure first: a store with more than 1000 paused rows where the batch run is past the page.
Dedupe
Read the open titles for listSuspendedRunsDurable, 1000, suspended-run page, recall + batch, $parentRunId: none. New.
Blocked-by: #28228, and PR fix(plugin-approvals): a revise-window recall on a batch item resumes the batch #28228 merged at 2026-10-30T19:26Z. It merged without the lookup change: resumeBatchOfRecalledItem on main still reads the one-page listSuspendedRunsDurable(). So the defect is live now. pm:blocked is removed, and the card is back in pm:queue at p2.

Container & model: M, mode:thread, model: default (TIER_DEFAULT), effort: high; no contract review expected (the recall reaches the batch #28183 already resumes, past the first page) unless the diff adds a public contract member, a code, or edits packages/spec
Clause-②: no (a recall on a store with more than 1000 parked runs now wakes its batch, as it already does below that) — the dev confirms the arm from the diff
Metadata-protocol: none
Responsibility: on a durable store with more than 1000 parked runs, a revise-window recall's batch lookup reads one page and can miss its batch, which then stays parked; the platform path that covers it is a correlation-keyed lookup from the item run's $parentRunId; reached by every batch sign-off recall on a busy deployment.
