Business reason. ③, the words above. The ui lane now runs up to ten card threads at once, and two seats. ui/packages/app-shell/src/views/ObjectView.tsx is one file that many unrelated cards must edit, so the seat has to queue those cards serially by region. That holds whole cards back and causes text conflicts at merge. Smaller modules let two cards that touch different concerns run and land in parallel.
Reader who acts: the ui lane seat that owns @object-ui/app-shell, one dispatch per slice. The first act is a fresh seam table measured at claim.
Measured (on origin/main 05f7758f, 2026-10-26)
- 4414 lines. Lines 1–1436 are module-level helpers, types and constants. The component starts at line 1437 and runs to the end of the file.
- In flight in this file today: console: a page or list view whose label is an inline locale map shows a machine name (InterfaceListPage) or reaches viewTabLabel raw (AppHeader view branch, ObjectView tab bar) #25901 (view-tab regions, card thread working), fix(i18n): localise the console's round-3 leftovers — data table titles, chart fallback, react pages, References columns, Flow Runs diagnostics #25978 (Loading-chart fallbacks, in the merge queue). - Split along the existing seams, one area per PR, each slice move-only: no logic change, no renamed identifier, and no change to behaviour or to the rendered DOM.
- The package's public surface does not move. Every name
@object-ui/app-shellexports from this file today stays importable from the same entry point. The file itself remains, as the component plus re-exports, so imports by path keep resolving. - Tests stay as they are. The only test edits allowed are import or
vi.mockpath updates that the move forces, each listed in the PR body. The package's whole test suite is green before and after each slice. - Order. Start with the module-level helpers (lines 1–1436): pure functions, types and constants that need no shared state. Split the component body only after that, by concern (hooks or sub-components). Where moved code needs component state, pass it explicitly. ⛔ No second copy of a helper, ⛔ no re-derivation.
