[maintainer] refactor(service-automation): split src/engine.ts (13,735 lines, +2,199 in 30 days) along its AutomationEngine seams, one move-only slice per PR #25222

Description

@objectstack-fleet

Filing gate ③: a task the maintainer dispatched, quoted verbatim below. Filed by domain:cli seat 1 (seat post #6024) · os-sales · session session_01CxBKycaiUpA1yGx1XyoGqX, as the restart act of #24586. ⛔ Not a claim.

The maintainer's words, verbatim (#24586, recorded in 6270097840): 「24586 同意A,是否建议这波分拆等 v18 发布之后再处理。」 The restart condition (npm @objectstack/spec latest ≥ 18.0.0) was read true by triage in 6291735609. The ruling's restart act: "one [maintainer] card per file over 10,000 lines into its owning lane … Each card starts with a fresh seam measurement taken at that time, in #23050's shape."

Reader who acts: the domain:services seat (packages/services/service-automation is that lane's), one dispatch per slice.

Measured (on origin/main 123ff6f4e, 2026-10-22)

History note: this clone's history starts 2026-09-17, so "total" commit counts are lower bounds; the 7- and 30-day windows are complete, and git blame --since=2026-09-22 agrees with a diff against the last pre-window commit fa2980341 to within 7 lines.

  • Size and churn: 13,735 lines (11,536 thirty days ago: +2,199, +19.1%). 10 commits in 7 days, 47 in 30 days. git blame --since=2026-09-22 attributes 2,842 lines (20.7%) to the last 30 days.
  • Structure: a 2,545-line module preamble (node-executor, trigger and connector extension-point interfaces, run/log types, signal classes, helpers), then one AutomationEngine class (11,190 lines, 226 members). The largest sections:
section lines lines from the last 30 days
module preamble 2,545 450
DAG execution (executeNode, traverseNext, runRegion, retryExecution, …) 1,860 267
resume path (resume, loadSuspendedRun*, resumeInternal, bubbleToParent) 1,775 54
flow registration + lifecycle (registerFlow, packaged-flow sources, toggleFlow, rollbackFlow) 1,498 996
logging + node-type vocabulary + registration-time validation 1,456 486
suspension settle/cancel/restore/list 1,293 156
class head (fields, constructor, store plumbing) 985 69
Plugin Extension API (executors, triggers, connectors) 976 158
  • Shared state a split must pass: logger (87 refs), store (33), flows (30), recordLog (14), the suspension maps (suspendedRuns, cacheOnlySuspensions, consumedSuspensions, …) shared by resume and suspension with the class head; execute and resume both call into DAG execution.
  • What reads it by path: 4 scripts/ files (check-refd-timer-probe.mjs, check-startup-registry-verdict.mjs, check-type-check-coverage.mjs, docs-audit/affected-docs.mjs); no ADR anchor file; 15 files under content/ and docs/; 185 test files import or name it.
  • In flight: none of the 10 open PRs touch the file.

The ask (from #24586's ruling and #23050's shape)

  1. Split along the existing seams, one area per PR. Each slice is move-only: no logic changes.
  2. Shared state stays explicit: moved code reaches the class's shared members through one named context object. ⛔ Not a second copy of a helper, ⛔ not a re-derivation.
  3. Every slice proves it moved nothing: every gate, baseline, ADR anchor and docs anchor that reads the file by path is migrated in the same PR and stays green. ⛔ A gate whose target moved must not go silently empty.
  4. Serial with the file's in-flight PRs (a slice waits for an open PR on the same region, or the PR merges main after the slice).
  5. ⛔ No new gate.

Not in this card

Any behaviour change. A design change to the shared members beyond giving them an explicit context. Splitting files in other lanes (#24586 hands those to their own seats).

    "question": "For this split series, is the published d.ts bar for move-only byte identity, or identity after sorting string-literal unions? Measured on slice 1: 18 lines of dist/index.d.ts (and the identical index.d.cts) print two union members swapped (the field-type union's summary/record, and _lockSource's package/artifact); after sorting literal unions both sides hash bb7fefdc30c19ebb1dac308eeb00418a79c8465b9409f511f66c56cf7d398cd5, and the ESM and CJS export lists are identical (39 names). Cause, measured with an instrumented TypeScript 6.0.3 checker driving tsup's DTS program: TS prints union members in literal-type creation order, and the DTS build checks files in program order, where an imported module precedes its importer, so the moved bodies are checked before all of engine.ts (head creates package/artifact at flow-registration-checks.ts:214 and record via @objectstack/formula, before engine.ts:1057 creates summary; base created them at engine.ts:1141, :1233, :2468, :2546). No move-only shape avoids it, since engine.ts must import the module, and every later slice will do the same. It may fall in the SKILL's no-escalation class (verification strategy).",

AI-error axis: the normalised comparison stays strict, since every other byte must match. Business need: no consumer can observe union member order (assignability, narrowing and inference are unchanged), so B serves no reader. Startup focus: A adds no gate and no release noise; B adds ten empty patch releases."

    Ruling: needs_decision fork review (project review thread 「#25222 类型声明判据裁决」) · letter A · maintainer 「对于这种类似的问题,能否你自己开一个单独的 fable thread 做评审,对于自己有把握决定的问题,自己决定,不能决定的开决策卡?」 2026-10-22T19:00Z

    Proxy ruling under the maintainer's delegation quoted above (carried into this project by its owner's standing rule 「卡线程报 needs_decision 时,另开 fable 裁决线程,有把握就裁并把裁决落在 GitHub 上,没把握才给 Bill 发决策卡」), by the review thread's session session_01APSsvEvjFUTm2kWZj3s6Zp (project thread), on the domain:services seat 1 card thread's needs_decision fork (claim 6347648881, report 6348691318, session session_01Mnj4nkWuhJ18xEdZvb2cjE, draft PR #25270 at 45536612). Marker: auto-adjudicated. ⚠️ Reversible on one word from the maintainer; nothing here forecloses that.

    The question

    Slice 1 of the engine.ts split moves the eight registration-time checks of AutomationEngine to src/flow-registration-checks.ts, move-only, by #23050's shape B. The published dist/index.d.ts (and the identical index.d.cts) of @objectstack/service-automation is not byte-identical to base: 18 lines differ, every one the same string-literal union printed with two members swapped ("summary" | "record" ↔ "record" | "summary" on 9 lines; "package" | "artifact" | "env-forced" ↔ "artifact" | "package" | "env-forced" on 9 lines). After sorting the members of string-literal unions both sides hash the same; the ESM and CJS export lists are identical (39 names); no declaration is added, removed, renamed or retyped, and no private member becomes public or protected. The cause, measured by the dev with an instrumented TypeScript 6.0.3 checker on tsup's DTS program: TypeScript prints a union's members in the order their literal types were created, and the DTS build checks files in program order, where an imported module precedes its importer, so the moved bodies (which name FlowParsed) are now checked before all of engine.ts. Every later cut that engine.ts imports does the same. The claim 6347648881 had said 「⛔ The published .d.ts of @objectstack/service-automation does not change … If no move-only shape keeps it, this thread stops and returns needs_decision」, so the thread stopped. The forks:

    This thread's re-measure

    Rebuilt in this thread's container from a fresh pnpm install and turbo run build --filter='@objectstack/service-automation...' at base cc8d886 (the PR's base), then the package alone with the PR head's three source files (45536612) checked out:

    • raw dist/index.d.ts = index.d.cts: base sha256 fa59fa6b2b0b0e44709a3720e0fc8e66b2ed2d100277e57410ca9f020eb44158, head 061f950a0047c61b0e747dcfefb44c64bdf4c21150faafb72364d1a2350f965b — the dev's two readings, reproduced.
    • diff base head: 18 line pairs (36 diff lines), each pair the same line with two members of one string-literal union swapped: 9 × _lockSource?: "package" | "artifact" | "env-forced" | undefined ↔ "artifact" | "package" | …; 9 × the field-type union with "summary" | "record" ↔ "record" | "summary" (6 on type:, 3 on type?:). No other line differs.
    • normalised (members of every string-literal union run sorted in place, nothing else touched; the one-liner below): base and head both bb7fefdc30c19ebb1dac308eeb00418a79c8465b9409f511f66c56cf7d398cd5, cmp silent — the dev's normalised hash, reproduced.
    • positive control: the head .d.ts with one declaration changed in kind (private registrationChecks; → registrationChecks;, line 4453) normalises to 7a323d3459b9e40cde2b312d618bc46c17bd1eb2322433874702e6c670038ca3 ≠ bb7fefdc…: the normaliser does not hide a visibility change.
    • export lists at head: ESM 39 names, CJS 39 names (the dev's reading; base not re-counted here, the report's 39 = 39 stands).
    • the normaliser used (so the seat reruns it from the same two files): node -e 'const s=require("fs").readFileSync(process.argv[1],"utf8");process.stdout.write(s.replace(/"[^"\n]*"(?:\s*\|\s*"[^"\n]*")+/g,r=>r.split(/\s*\|\s*/).sort().join(" | ")))' dist/index.d.ts | sha256sum.
    • the dev's cause (literal-type creation order under program order) is not re-instrumented here; it is consistent with the diff's shape (the two swapped literals are exactly the ones the moved bodies' FlowParsed signatures reach first) and is marked unverified by this thread as a mechanism; the ruling rests on the measured diff, not on the mechanism.

    Governing text, read at origin/main cc8d886 (the PR's base)

    Ruling: A

    This is a verification-strategy question, a named no-escalation class: the bar under dispute is a seat's proof criterion, written as a proxy for 「no private member becomes public or protected」, and the proxy has met a TypeScript printer artefact its author did not foresee. No floor moves: union member order has no meaning to any consumer (assignability, narrowing and inference are unchanged), the declaration set is the same, the export set is the same, no gate is loosened and none is added. The PM answers it here; it does not go up.

    Why not B. A changeset is 「the text an upgrading agent greps」; a patch entry that can only say 「internal refactor」 gives that reader a release with nothing in it, ten times over the series, and the same again on #25223 and #25224. The base order is itself an accident of which engine.ts line first touches each literal, so any ordinary edit of the file could flip it without a changeset either; tying the series to it ties it to the accident, not to the contract.

    Why not C. The maintainer ordered the split (「同意A」, restart condition read true in 6291735609); the obstacle is a printer artefact, not a contract. C loses the card's goal for nothing a consumer could observe.

    Fixed here, so no slice of this series opens a second decision on the same point:

    1. The series' .d.ts bar (this card, and by 元判据① the sibling restart-act cards [maintainer] refactor(plugin-security): split src/security-plugin.ts (10,746 lines, +2,803 in 30 days) along its SecurityPlugin seams, one move-only slice per PR #25223 and [maintainer] refactor(plugin-auth): split src/auth-manager.ts (10,338 lines, +1,867 in 30 days) along its AuthManager seams, one move-only slice per PR #25224, which carry the same dispatch line): a cut's published .d.ts (index.d.ts and index.d.cts, each) must (a) keep the same declaration set, with no private member made public or protected and nothing added, removed, renamed or retyped; (b) be byte-identical to base after exactly one normalisation, sorting the members of each string-literal union in place (the "a" | "b" sequences; nothing else is normalised: no whitespace, no comments, no reordering of declarations, no widening of the normaliser later); (c) keep the ESM and CJS export lists identical to base; (d) account for every raw-diff line as a union-member-order swap: the report states the raw diff's line count and that the diff of the two normalised files is empty, so each differing line pair is the same line with union members permuted. Any residual after (b), or any diff of another kind (a blank line, an inlined alias, a moved declaration — [maintainer] refactor(rest): split packages/rest/src/rest-server.ts (13,701 lines, 70 commits in 30 days) along its register*Endpoints seams, one move-only slice per PR, /meta after #22877 stage 2 #23050 slice 1 met one, 6135442258), is outside this ruling: stop and report the fork, ⛔ do not widen the normaliser and ⛔ do not add a changeset to pass.
    2. What each report carries, in one block: the raw sha256 of base and head, the normalised sha256 of base and head, the normaliser command verbatim (one shell or node one-liner the seat reruns from the same two files), the raw-diff line count, and the positive control the review checklist requires for a byte-identical reading: the same normaliser applied to the head .d.ts with one injected change of kind (a) (a private member made public, or a renamed member) yields a different normalised hash. A block without the control reads INCONCLUSIVE, as the checklist says.
    3. Not a gate. The normaliser is a report reading the seat reruns at ACCEPT, in the report and the PR body only; ⛔ no scripts/ file, no CI step, no check: script (card ask 5; 「新增门禁默认否」).
    4. skip-changeset stays on every cut that meets item 1; ⛔ no patch changeset for a union-order diff. A cut that fails item 1 does not take a changeset either: it stops (item 1).
    5. The claim lines 「the published .d.ts does not change」 (this card) and 「dist/*.d.ts byte-identical to base」 ([maintainer] refactor(plugin-auth): split src/auth-manager.ts (10,338 lines, +1,867 in 30 days) along its AuthManager seams, one move-only slice per PR #25224) read, from this comment on, as item 1. The next slice's claim on each card spells item 1 out instead of the byte-identity wording; the current claims are not re-posted.
    6. Premise, falsifiable, this cut: the raw diff at the final head is union-member-order only, and the dev's cause (program order, literal creation order) is the one the re-measure above reads. A later head whose raw diff carries any other line falsifies it: stop and report, ⛔ do not hard-pass.

    Why A, on the four axes (business standpoint)

    • ① Long-term soundness (weight ≥50%). Two years out the platform's move-only proof for a split is a contract reading, not a printer reading: the same declarations, the same visibility, the same exports. A keeps that bar strict on every byte that carries meaning and names the one byte class that carries none. B makes the release record say something false by omission (a release with no change) and C abandons an ordered decomposition over an artefact.
    • ② Measured business pull. Zero consumers can observe union member order (type-level only; no runtime, no .d.ts reader in the repo keys on it: check:api-surface reads packages/spec/dist, not this package). The pull is the maintainer's split order, in flight on three cards.
    • ③ AI-error prevention. An agent that moves a member and lets it become public, renames it, or drops a declaration still fails loudly: items 1(a), 1(d) and the positive control catch it, and the report must show the control. Under A the normaliser cannot hide a real change because it touches only union member order and every other byte must match.
    • ④ Startup no-sprawl. No new gate, no script, no changeset noise; one report block per cut. B adds about thirty empty patch releases across the three cards; C spends the ordered work for nothing.

    Only-① pick: A. Do ②③④ flip it: no. Effort for the chosen letter: none beyond the report block on PR #25270; the seat's ACCEPT proceeds.

    • raw sha256, index.d.ts and index.d.cts (identical to each other on both sides): base fa59fa6b2b0b0e44709a3720e0fc8e66b2ed2d100277e57410ca9f020eb44158, head 061f950a0047c61b0e747dcfefb44c64bdf4c21150faafb72364d1a2350f965b.
    • normalised sha256, all four files: base bb7fefdc30c19ebb1dac308eeb00418a79c8465b9409f511f66c56cf7d398cd5, head bb7fefdc30c19ebb1dac308eeb00418a79c8465b9409f511f66c56cf7d398cd5. cmp of the two normalised files is silent, so their diff is empty.
    • raw diff index.d.ts base vs head: 36 diff lines, 18 pairs. Each pair is the same line with the members of one string-literal union permuted: 9 for _lockSource, 9 for the field-type union.
    • the normaliser, the ruling's one-liner, verbatim:
      node -e 'const s=require("fs").readFileSync(process.argv[1],"utf8");process.stdout.write(s.replace(/"[^"\n]*"(?:\s*\|\s*"[^"\n]*")+/g,r=>r.split(/\s*\|\s*/).sort().join(" | ")))' dist/index.d.ts | sha256sum
    • positive controls on the head index.d.ts, line 4453, one line each, then the same normaliser:
      • private registrationChecks; made public (registrationChecks;) gives 7a323d3459b9e40cde2b312d618bc46c17bd1eb2322433874702e6c670038ca3, the ruling thread's control hash.
      • the same member renamed (private registrationChecksRenamed;) gives b067856eff1228162dff59a2838da494e217b8c3ba73c04828d675fccbcba6e2.
      • Both differ from bb7fefdc…, so the normaliser does not hide either kind of change.
    • export lists: ESM 39 names and CJS 39 names at head. Both sorted lists equal base's, compared name by name.
    • Item 1 holds: (a) the declaration set is the same; (b) the files are byte-identical after the one normalisation; (c) the export lists are identical; (d) every raw-diff line is a union-member-order swap.

    Stalled-PR sweep, 2026-10-23T15:27Z, from the Objectstack project (Tesla's), thread "Stalled open PRs triage". ⛔ Not a claim, and nothing on this branch was touched.

    PR #25270 (slice 1 of this card) has had no movement since the ruling 6348891160 (letter A) and the card thread's Ruling-ref block 6348952269, both 2026-10-22T19:04Z. Read at this sweep:

    • head 455366125ca3802cbd8b2bafc0d2f7867164eef9, still draft; all 46 check runs on that head concluded success or skipped (Test Core 6/6, Type Check, Lint & Repo Gates, Governed Surface Queue Guard among them).
    • base cc8d886; origin/main has moved about 20 hours since, so the queue would build it on a newer tree.
    • What remains, per the ruling's "Execution after the ruling": the domain:services seat 1 ACCEPT, then pr_update_branch, a re-read of the item 1 .d.ts block on the new merge, and draft → ready → queue.

    Asking the seat (os-sales, seat post #6021) to pick this up. If the seat is gone, say so here; the takeover protocol (same claim, same branch) then applies, and the maintainer decides who carries it.

    Takeover: landing window of slice 1 (PR #25270) · 2026-10-23T15:43Z · session session_01UBfoEFdVTZ9yyEX5HxsHe4 (Objectstack project, thread "Stalled open PRs triage")

    Whose instruction: the maintainer Tesla (os-tesla), in the Objectstack project chat, 2026-10-23T15:42Z: 「只要卡片2小时没进展,你应该都可以接手」, on top of the thread's opening ask 「评估一下 6小时前的pr,卡在什么地方,没有进展的你负责接手」 (2026-10-23T15:19Z).

    Why: no movement on this card or PR #25270 since 6348952269 (2026-10-22T19:04Z), about 20.5 hours, past the 2-hour bar.

    What this takes, and what it leaves alone:

    • This is the continuation of the existing claim 6347648881, not a new claim. The assignee (os-sales), the claim, the branch claude/project-thread-nirtwt and the PR stay as they are. No code on the branch is edited.
    • This act runs the steps the ruling 6348891160 left under "Execution after the ruling": merge origin/main into the PR head (relay pr_update_branch, a real merge commit), re-read the ruling's item 1 .d.ts block on the merged tree, the seat ACCEPT against review-checklist.md, then draft → ready → auto-merge once every check on the new head is green.
    • ⛔ Slice 2 is not started here. The card stays pm:dispatched and open (it is Part of); the next slice is for the services seat when it returns.
    • If the services seat comes back before the queue merges this, say so here and this act stands down at the next step.

    Claim: card thread · domain:services seat 1 (seat post #6021, project run by the Sales account) · p2 · series card, slice 4 of the engine.ts split: the run-attempt bodies (executeWithoutRetry and the two run-variable seeders) join the DAG traversal module · 2026-10-23T21:20Z
    Ruling-ref: 6348891160
    Session: session_01Mnj4nkWuhJ18xEdZvb2cjE
    Account: os-sales (the seat's linked user; the card's assignee)
    Branch: claude/project-thread-nirtwt, restarted from main 5ea211cc after slice 3 (#25531) merged as d7ccdfcd. It names no issue, so the Duplicate Fix Guard's branch-name hint will not match; this claim is the identity record.
    Worktree: objectstack-issue-25222
    Domain: domain:services
    Seat: domain:services#1 (seat post #6021)
    File surface (read on origin/main 5ea211cc; stop on a breach and explain it in the report). Move-only, per the card's asks 1-5:

    • packages/services/service-automation/src/engine.ts, the rest of the DAG Traversal Core section of AutomationEngine. The bodies of 3 methods move into the module slice 3 made, src/dag-traversal.ts: seedDeclaredVariables, seedRunVariables and executeWithoutRetry. About 826 changed lines.
      • retryExecution stays in the class, narrowing the seat's slice-4 list by one. packages/spec/liveness/flow.json cites engine.ts for flow/errorHandling.backoffMs, .backoffMultiplier and .maxRetryDelayMs. Only retryExecution's body names those three keys, in its destructuring of errorHandling. Measured on a draft that moved it: check:liveness key-mention goes red, with those 3 pairs UNANCHORED. The ledger is the spec lane's file, so this slice does not re-point it. The body stays, as getConnectorDescriptors stayed in slice 2 (amendment 6370513520). With the 3 bodies above, check:liveness output is identical to base.
      • The 33-site ruling is still pending with Sales (sent to the coordinator 18:45Z). This slice moves 0 of those sites: none of the 3 bodies holds a this.FIELD.delete/insert/update( site. Measured on the draft before this claim, check-tenant-audit-census output (and its --self-test output) is byte-identical to base, and so is check-system-context-census output.
      • Return types. The 3 methods are private and each declares its return type, so no public body with an inferred return type moves.
      • Shape (slices 1 to 3).
        • The class keeps every method with its name, docblock, signature and position. Each moved body becomes one host literal and fn.call(host, …). seedDeclaredVariables reads no member and is called directly.
        • DagTraversalHost gains the members these bodies read, each typed AutomationEngine['m']. Methods go as late-bound closures.
        • The fields read are logger and flows, passed by value. flows is assigned once, at its declaration, and is never reassigned anywhere in the repo.
        • executeWithoutRetry's stub drops async and returns the moved function's promise, as in slice 3.
      • The module-level declarations these bodies read. buildRunTrigger and the ExecutionLogEntry interface are shared with code that stays, so each gains export in place, as FlowSuspendSignal did in slice 3. index.ts re-exports ./engine.js by name, so the package entry does not change. The module imports buildRunTrigger by value; it is read only inside a function body, at call time.
      • Other edits.
        • The module adds imports for AutomationResult, readCarriedRefusal, summarizeRun and describeThrownForLog. Each is still read in engine.ts too, so no engine.ts import line changes except the ./dag-traversal.js import, which gains the 3 names.
        • Two sentences of the module docblock, and the comment above the ./dag-traversal.js import in engine.ts, name the new bodies.
      • .d.ts: the bar is item 1 of ruling 6348891160.
        • (a) The same declaration set and visibility: nothing added, removed, renamed or retyped.
        • (b) Byte-identical after ONLY sorting string-literal union members. The normaliser is never widened.
        • (c) Identical ESM and CJS export lists.
        • (d) Every raw-diff line is a union-member swap.
          The report carries the item-2 block. Any other .d.ts difference stops this thread with needs_decision.
    • Every gate, baseline, ADR anchor, docs anchor and test that reads the moved lines by path moves in the same PR and stays green.
    • skip-changeset, per ruling 6348891160; no patch changeset. ⛔ No scripts/ or CI addition.
    • ⛔ Not touched: every other section of the class, packages/spec, and any behaviour.
      Container & model: L series (one slice per PR, strictly serial in this thread), card thread (in-session executor), model: default tier, effort: xhigh. This slice goes back to the services seat 1 for ACCEPT before the next one starts.
      Clause-②: no
      Metadata-protocol: none
      Responsibility: n/a — not a defect card
      Thread-read: none
      Serial constraints cleared:
    • Re-read on origin/main 5ea211cc: I diffed each of the 12 open PRs' heads against their merge base with origin/main. None touches service-automation/src or any reader named above. The Version Packages PR chore: version packages #24876 touches only the package's CHANGELOG.md and package.json.
    • No in-flight claim names engine.ts or dag-traversal.ts.

    State: the card stays open and dispatched (Part of). retryExecution stays in the class because the spec liveness ledger anchors its keys there. Next, the card thread posts a remaining-bodies table for engine.ts on the merged main. Each row reads movable, stays, or waiting on the ruling for the 33 census sites. The table decides whether there is a slice 5.

    Remaining-bodies table for engine.ts, as the services seat asked once slice 4 (#25542) merged.

    Read on main at 673ebfd4. Its engine.ts is byte-identical to the slice-4 head c89b93d5: 11,686 lines, sha256 c9b046e17c69d303cad6770c4cbeb054d97185dd9e141e566f8f94d9a9155afe. The line numbers below are that file's. "Body lines" counts the lines inside a method's braces.

    Summary

    • AutomationEngine has 172 methods. 27 of them are already stubs, from slices 1 to 4. That leaves 145 bodies and 4,836 body lines.
    • Blocked on the 33-site ruling: 21 bodies, 2,543 lines. Each holds at least one this.FIELD.delete( write site, 33 in all. The ruling, with Sales since 18:45Z, decides them.
    • Stays: 9 bodies, 161 lines.
      • 2 for liveness.
      • 3 for private statics.
      • 4 for check:startup-registry-verdict. The seat's list did not have this reason; it is explained below.
    • Inferred-return publics: none. Every public method that is left declares its return type.
    • Movable: 115 bodies, 2,132 lines.
      • 44 of them are 1 to 3 lines long, 56 lines in all. Their stub would be as long as the body, so the slice plans below leave them where they are.
      • The other 71 hold 2,076 lines.
    • So slice 5 exists without the ruling, and so do about two more after it. Each is under 3,000 changed lines.

    How it was measured

    1. The classifier. A script read the TypeScript AST of engine.ts and looked at every method body for:

      • write sites, meaning this.X.insert/update/delete( (the census's WRITE_VERBS);
      • reads of the four private statics;
      • a public method with no declared return type;
      • each shape the series' generator refuses: bare this, element access on this, a non-arrow function or class that reads this, super, arguments and new.target.

      It found none of the refused shapes.

    2. The trial moves. In a scratch worktree at c89b93d5, every site-free body was moved at once into one trial module, in shape B:

      • the host is a Pick of the members each body reads;
      • methods are late-bound closures;
      • fields assigned only at their declaration or in the constructor go by value;
      • a field the class reassigns goes through a getter;
      • a field the moved body writes goes through a get/set pair.

      The readers then ran on each trial and at base:

      • Trial 1 moved the 121 site-free bodies that read no private static. check:liveness key-mention went red with 5 UNANCHORED keys, and check:startup-registry-verdict dropped from 46 seams to 45.
      • Trial 2 left out retryExecution, getConnectorDescriptors and knownNodeTypes. Liveness was clean, but the gate was down to 44 seams.
      • Trial 3 also left out getUnknownNodeTypeAudit, sealNodeTypeVocabulary and warnUnknownNodeTypes. These are the 115 bodies of the movable table, and every reader matched base.
    3. Trial 3's readings, against base c89b93d5 in the same worktree:

      • check-tenant-audit-census and check-system-context-census: byte-identical output.
      • check:liveness, check-adr-symbol-anchors and check:platform-checklist: byte-identical.
      • check:adr-anchors and check:dispatcher-error-vocabulary: identical apart from the scanned file count, which goes up by one for the new module.
      • check:startup-registry-verdict: 46 seams, 40 of them read-only, as at base. Its --list matches base apart from line numbers and the file of the two seams that move with their own read, getRegisteredNodeTypes and getActionDescriptors.
      • tsc --noEmit: only unused-import errors (TS6133, TS6192 and TS6196), because the trial module copied every import of engine.ts. There were no other errors.
      • The package's vitest run: 199 of 199 files and 2628 of 2628 tests passed.
      • The 53 gates that dispatch-gates.mjs derives for the trial's paths: 49 exit 0. The 4 that read build output (check:dts-closure, check:dual-build-cjs-loads, check:lean-entry-closure and check:sourcemap-no-sources-content) answer exit 3, a missing prerequisite, because the scratch worktree has no build. Each real slice builds and runs them.
    4. This is a measurement, not a slice. Each real slice still carries its own move proof, .d.ts reading under ruling 6348891160, and gate run.

    Why the four startup-registry bodies stay

    • check-startup-registry-verdict's Rule B finds a seam by following a function's calls, but only to functions in the same file.
    • knownNodeTypes holds the read of nodeExecutors and actionDescriptors that registerFlow reaches. Moving it drops registerFlow's seam, so the count goes from 46 to 45.
    • getUnknownNodeTypeAudit and sealNodeTypeVocabulary get their read through knownNodeTypes. Moving them without it drops their seams too, down to 44.
    • warnUnknownNodeTypes is the warn that the gate sees registerFlow and sealNodeTypeVocabulary reach. Moving it hides that warn.
    • The gate stays green in every one of these cases, but it checks less. So the four stay for as long as registerFlow stays. registerFlow is blocked on the ruling; if the ruling lets it move, the five can move together.

    Readers each later slice migrates

    Proposed slice 5: run history

    • Bodies. Nine bodies, 655 body lines, into a new src/run-history.ts with host RunHistoryHost:

      • the reads: listRuns, listRunsPage, runRecordToLogEntry, suspendedRunToLogEntry, getRun, listSuspendedRuns and readSuspendedRuns;
      • the writes: recordLog and finishRefusedRun.
    • Host.

      • The methods it reads: listRunsPage, suspendedRunToLogEntry, runRecordToLogEntry, evictConsumedSuspension, compactStepsForHistory and recordLog.
      • By value: executionLogs, logger, suspendedRuns, cacheOnlySuspensions, maxLogSize, runSummaryLog and consumedSuspensions. Each is assigned only at its declaration or in the constructor.
        • The one other write is in a test: src/run-summary.test.ts:295 overwrites runSummaryLog before the run starts.
        • The host is built afresh on each call, and recordLog, the one body that reads runSummaryLog, is synchronous. So the body still reads the value the test set, and that test passed on the trial.
      • store goes through a getter, because setSuspendedRunStore reassigns it.
    • Left out on purpose. The 1-line listSuspendedRunsDurable, getSuspendedScreen and compactStepsForHistory stay where they are.

    • Checks. The nine bodies hold no write site, no private-static read, no key that only they name, and none of the startup-registry reads. The estimate is about 1,500 changed lines; slice 4 came to 826 lines for 370 body lines.

    • After slice 5, about 1,420 movable body lines are left, in bodies over 3 lines:

      • run context and resume gating: 17 bodies, 606 lines, from resolveRunContext to failAncestors;
      • flow lifecycle, subflow guards, dispatch claims, credentials, consumed-suspension restore and the DAG renderers: 45 bodies, 815 lines.

      Those would be slices 6 and 7. They need no ruling.

    • What waits on the ruling. The 21 blocked bodies and the five startup-registry bodies.

    The table

    Claim: card thread · domain:services seat 1 (seat post #6021, project run by the Sales account) · p2 · series card, slice 5 of the engine.ts split: the run-history bodies move into a new src/run-history.ts · 2026-10-23T22:57Z
    Ruling-ref: 6348891160
    Session: session_01Mnj4nkWuhJ18xEdZvb2cjE
    Account: os-sales (the seat's linked user; the card's assignee)
    Branch: claude/project-thread-nirtwt, restarted from main 673ebfd4 after slice 4 (#25542) merged. It names no issue, so the Duplicate Fix Guard's branch-name hint will not match; this claim is the identity record.
    Worktree: objectstack-issue-25222
    Domain: domain:services
    Seat: domain:services#1 (seat post #6021)
    File surface (read on origin/main 673ebfd4; stop on a breach and explain it in the report). Move-only, per the card's asks 1-5, as the seat agreed on the proposal in the remaining-bodies table (comment 6376268510):

    • packages/services/service-automation/src/engine.ts and a new src/run-history.ts, host RunHistoryHost. The bodies of 9 methods move, 655 body lines.
      • Reads: listRuns, listRunsPage, runRecordToLogEntry, suspendedRunToLogEntry, getRun, listSuspendedRuns, readSuspendedRuns.
      • Writes: recordLog and finishRefusedRun.
      • About 1,523 changed lines, measured on the draft.
      • The 1-line listSuspendedRunsDurable, getSuspendedScreen and compactStepsForHistory stay in the class.
      • The 33-site ruling is still pending with Sales (sent to the coordinator 18:45Z). This slice moves 0 of those sites: none of the 9 bodies holds a this.FIELD.delete/insert/update( site. Measured on the draft before this claim, check-tenant-audit-census output (and its --self-test output) is byte-identical to base, and so is check-system-context-census output.
      • Return types. Every one of the 9 methods declares its return type, so no public body with an inferred return type moves.
      • None of the bodies that must stay. No liveness-only key and no private static: check:liveness output is identical to base on the draft. None of the four startup-registry bodies (knownNodeTypes, getUnknownNodeTypeAudit, sealNodeTypeVocabulary, warnUnknownNodeTypes) moves either. On the draft, check:startup-registry-verdict finds 46 seams, 40 of them read-only, at base and at head, and its --list matches apart from line numbers.
      • Shape (slices 1 to 4).
      • Module-level declarations. Every top-level name the bodies read is already exported from engine.ts: buildRunTrigger, isTerminalRunStatus, ExecutionLogEntry, RunRecord, StepLogEntry and SuspendedRun. No export is added. The module imports buildRunTrigger and isTerminalRunStatus by value; both are read only inside function bodies, at call time.
      • Other edits.
        • formatRunSummaryLine is read only by recordLog, so its import moves to the module, and engine.ts's ./run-summary.js import keeps summarizeRun alone.
        • engine.ts gains the ./run-history.js import, with a comment naming its bodies.
          The report carries the item-2 block, read at the merge base and at the head.
    • ⛔ Not touched: every other member of the class, packages/spec, and any behaviour.
      Container & model: L series (one slice per PR, strictly serial in this thread), card thread (in-session executor), model: default tier, effort: xhigh. This slice goes back to the services seat 1 for ACCEPT before the next one starts.

The bodies of 9 AutomationEngine methods (listRuns, listRunsPage, runRecordToLogEntry, suspendedRunToLogEntry, getRun, listSuspendedRuns, readSuspendedRuns, recordLog, finishRefusedRun; 655 body lines) move unedited into a new src/run-history.ts. RunHistoryHost holds the 14 members they read, each typed AutomationEngine[m]; 6 methods go as late-bound closures; store goes through a getter (a readStore closure over this.store and a host member get store() that calls it), the #25223 cut 1 / PR #25290 form, because setSuspendedRunStore reassigns it; no moved body writes any field, so no get/set pair. Seven fields go by value (executionLogs, logger, suspendedRuns, cacheOnlySuspensions, maxLogSize, runSummaryLog, consumedSuspensions); the PR body shows the grep: the only writes are the constructor and one test (run-summary.test.ts:295) that overwrites runSummaryLog before the run, which the per-call host still sees. The 4 async stubs drop async and return the moved promise. Nothing is newly exported; formatRunSummaryLine import moves with recordLog. Claim: card thread · domain:services seat 1 (seat post #6021, project run by the Sales account) · p2 · series card, slice 6 of the engine.ts split: the run-context and resume bodies move into a new src/run-resume.ts · 2026-10-24T00:37Z
    Ruling-ref: 6348891160
    Session: session_01Mnj4nkWuhJ18xEdZvb2cjE
    Account: os-sales (the seat's linked user; the card's assignee)
    Branch: claude/project-thread-nirtwt, restarted from main 03243fc6 after slice 5 (#25551) merged. It names no issue, so the Duplicate Fix Guard's branch-name hint will not match; this claim is the identity record.
    Worktree: objectstack-issue-25222
    Domain: domain:services
    Seat: domain:services#1 (seat post #6021)
    File surface (read on origin/main 03243fc6; stop on a breach and explain it in the report). Move-only, per the card's asks 1-5. This is the slice-6 group named in the remaining-bodies table (comment 6376268510), less two bodies (see "Two bodies stay" below):

    • packages/services/service-automation/src/engine.ts and a new src/run-resume.ts, host RunResumeHost. The bodies of 15 methods move.
      • Run context: resolveRunContext, seedRunGrants, resolveDecisionSegmentContext, expandDeclaredLookups.
      • Resume and its gates: resume, refuseGatedResume, refuseUndeclaredSuspension, loadSuspendedRun, loadSuspendedRunStrict, creditChildRun.
      • Failing, settling and cancelling: failSuspendedRun, settleUnresumableSuspension, cancelRun, cloneVariablesAtPause, failAncestors.
      • About 1,370 changed lines, measured on a local trial (engine.ts +133 / -547, the module +689, the test 1 / 1).
      • Two bodies stay: refuseInvalidScreenInput and buildSubflowResumeSignal. They read ENGINE_BUILT_SIGNAL and engineBuilt, and docs/adr/0019-approval-as-flow-node.md calls that symbol module-private. Moving them would mean exporting both from engine.ts. The package's export map is . only and index.ts would re-export neither, so the symbol would still be out of reach outside the package. But the ADR's "module-private" line would no longer be true, so they stay in the class and join the table's stays (now 11).
      • The 33-site ruling is still pending with Sales. This slice moves 0 of those sites: none of the 15 bodies holds a this.FIELD.delete/insert/update( site. On the trial, check-tenant-audit-census output (and its --self-test output) is byte-identical to base, and so is check-system-context-census output.
      • Return types. Every one of the 15 methods declares its return type, including the two public ones (resume, cancelRun). So no public body with an inferred return type moves.
      • None of the bodies that must stay. No liveness-only key and no private static: check:liveness output is identical to base on the trial. None of the four startup-registry bodies moves. refuseGatedResume and refuseUndeclaredSuspension call the three private-static readers (resolveEffectiveSuspension, resolveResumeAuthority, resolveCanonicalDescriptor) through host closures; those three stay in the class. On the trial, check:startup-registry-verdict finds 46 seams, 40 of them read-only, at both ends, and its --list matches apart from line numbers and the scanned-file count.
      • Shape (slices 1 to 5).
      • Module-level declarations. No export is added. Every top-level name the bodies read is already exported from engine.ts: buildRunTrigger, NodeExecutionResult, StepLogEntry and SuspendedRun. The module imports buildRunTrigger by value, and it is read only inside function bodies, at call time.
      • Import edits in engine.ts.
        • ./runtime-identity.js keeps runTriggerUserId and type SeededRunContext. runIsUnscopedUserMode, flowTouchesData and runOrgUserIds are read only by moved bodies.
        • The ./guard-refusal.js import (refuseNode) goes, because only a moved body reads it.
        • RESUME_AUTHORITY_SERVICE and SeededRunContext are no longer read in engine.ts code, but engine.ts docblocks still {@link} them. tsc counts a {@link} as a use under noUnusedLocals, so those two stay imported and the links still resolve. A control re-adding a truly unused name fails with TS6133.
        • engine.ts gains the ./run-resume.js import, with a comment naming its bodies.
          On the trial, the raw index.d.ts and index.d.cts are byte-identical to slice 5's. The report carries the item-2 block, read at the merge base and at the head.
    • ⛔ Not touched: every other member of the class, packages/spec, docs/, and any behaviour.
      Container & model: L series (one slice per PR, strictly serial in this thread), card thread (in-session executor), model: default tier, effort: xhigh. This slice goes back to the services seat 1 for ACCEPT before the next one starts.
      Clause-②: no
      Metadata-protocol: none
      Responsibility: n/a — not a defect card
      Thread-read: none
      Serial constraints cleared:
    • Re-read on origin/main 03243fc6: I diffed each of the 8 open PRs' heads against their merge base with origin/main. None touches service-automation/src or docs/adr/0019-approval-as-flow-node.md.
    • No in-flight claim names engine.ts or run-resume.ts. The open PRs are re-listed again before pr_create.
      Resume-from: none

    Claim: card thread · domain:services seat 1 (seat post #6021, project run by the Sales account) · p2 · series card, slice 7 of the engine.ts split: 43 bodies move into five new seam modules, per the seat's shape call A · 2026-10-24T02:49Z
    Ruling-ref: 6348891160
    Session: session_01Mnj4nkWuhJ18xEdZvb2cjE
    Account: os-sales (the seat's linked user; the card's assignee)
    Branch: claude/project-thread-nirtwt, restarted from main ea6fe000 after slice 6 (#25567) merged. It names no issue, so the Duplicate Fix Guard's branch-name hint will not match; this claim is the identity record.
    Worktree: objectstack-issue-25222
    Domain: domain:services
    Seat: domain:services#1 (seat post #6021)
    File surface (read on origin/main ea6fe000; stop on a breach and explain it in the report). Move-only, per the card's asks 1-5, in one PR (the seat's option A, not Tier H):

    • packages/services/service-automation/src/engine.ts and five new modules. The bodies of 43 methods move:
      • src/dispatch-claims.ts, host DispatchClaimsHost, 7 bodies: claim, claimInProcess, settleDispatch, readDispatch, nextRunId, warnAdvanceClaimDegraded, releaseSuspension.
      • src/flow-definitions.ts, host FlowDefinitionsHost, 13 bodies: resolveFunction, registerConnectorProvider, canonicalizeStoredFlow, canonicalizeFlow, unregisterFlow, recordFlowRefusal, getFlowRuntimeStates, describeUnboundReason, getTriggerBindingAudit, pullConnectorSource, flowCredentialHoldings, hookSecretResolver, rollbackFlow.
      • src/subflow-guards.ts, host SubflowGuardsHost, 11 bodies: describeDisabledFlow, subflowTargets, packagedSubflowCallers, parkedRunsOf, refuseUnderReachingCallers, disabledPackagedSubflows, ledgerDisabledChainReaches, refuseEnableOntoDisabledSubflow, describeDisabledSubflows, rejudgeSubflowCallers, refuseCustomerAuthoredToggle.
      • src/consumed-suspension-restore.ts, host ConsumedSuspensionRestoreHost, 6 bodies: rowSupersedesJournal, resolveConsumedSuspensionWitnesses, restoreConsumedSuspension, resolveRestoreChain, peekConsumedSuspension, inspectConsumedSuspension.
      • src/node-text-rendering.ts, host NodeTextRenderingHost, 6 bodies: unknownNodeTypes, warnIfNodeTypeVocabularyNeverSealed, setNodeError, renderRefusalMessage, renderFlowTextSlot, translatedFlowTemplate.
      • About 2,448 changed lines, measured on the trial on ea6fe000 (engine.ts +373 / -784, the five modules +1,289, the test 1 / 1). Under 3,000.
      • Four bodies stay, because each one's own docblock says what it reads is private, and moving it would mean exporting that name from engine.ts:
        • claimAdvance returns AdvanceClaim, whose docblock says "Module-private: it is a control-flow verdict, not a contract."
        • validateNodeInputSchemas throws InputSchemaViolationError, whose docblock says "Not exported on purpose — callers read the ADR-0112 code off the result, never the throw."
        • refuseInvalidScreenInput and buildSubflowResumeSignal (slice 6's two) read ENGINE_BUILT_SIGNAL / engineBuilt, which docs/adr/0019-approval-as-flow-node.md calls "a module-private symbol" and whose docblock says "Module-private and symbol-keyed".
      • The 33-site ruling is still pending with Sales. This slice moves 0 of those sites: none of the 43 bodies holds a this.FIELD.delete/insert/update( site. On the trial, check-tenant-audit-census output (and its --self-test output) is byte-identical to base, and so is check-system-context-census output.
      • Return types. Every one of the 43 methods declares its return type (the generator refuses one that does not). So no public body with an inferred return type moves.
      • None of the other stays moves. No liveness-only key and no private-static reader: check:liveness output is identical to base on the trial. None of the four startup-registry bodies (knownNodeTypes, getUnknownNodeTypeAudit, sealNodeTypeVocabulary, warnUnknownNodeTypes) moves. On the trial, check:startup-registry-verdict finds 46 seams, 40 of them read-only, at both ends, and its --list matches apart from line numbers and the scanned-file count.
      • Shape (slices 1 to 6).
        • The class keeps every method with its name, docblock, signature and position. Each moved body becomes one host literal and fn.call(host, …). Six bodies read no member and are called directly: nextRunId, subflowTargets, describeDisabledSubflows, rowSupersedesJournal, unknownNodeTypes, setNodeError.
        • Each host holds exactly the members its bodies read, each typed AutomationEngine['m']. Methods go as late-bound closures.
        • Seven fields go through a getter, in the store form ([maintainer] refactor(plugin-security): split src/security-plugin.ts (10,746 lines, +2,803 in 30 days) along its SecurityPlugin seams, one move-only slice per PR #25223 cut 1, PR refactor(plugin-security): move SecurityPlugin's leaf readers into security-plugin-object-inputs.ts (#25223 cut 1) #25290), because a method reassigns each: flowDispatchStore (setFlowDispatchStore), functionResolver (setFunctionResolver), connectorPullSource (setConnectorPullSource), flowCredentialSource (setFlowCredentialSource), store (setSuspendedRunStore), nodeTypeVocabularySealed (sealNodeTypeVocabulary), i18nServiceSource (setI18nServiceSource).
        • Four warned-once flags go through a get/set pair (refactor(plugin-auth): move AuthManager's request routing into auth-manager-request-routing.ts (#25224 cut 10) #25508), because a moved body sets each. Each is declared = false, the constructor never writes it, and the only write is in the one moved body; no other file names any of them:
          • dispatchClaimDegradationWarned, written only in claim;
          • dispatchOutcomeDegradationWarned, written only in readDispatch;
          • advanceClaimDegradationWarned, written only in warnAdvanceClaimDegraded;
          • nodeTypeSealOmissionWarned, written only in warnIfNodeTypeVocabularyNeverSealed.
            Their host interface members are not readonly; the stub adds a writeX closure that assigns this.X, beside the readX one, and the host member set X(v) { writeX(v); } beside get X(). The report shows the grep.
        • Fifteen fields go by value: logger, inProcessDispatchClaims, nodeExecutors, connectorProviders, flows, flowRefusals, flowShadowing, boundFlowTriggers, policyDisabledFlows, subflowDeclinedFlows, triggers, flowVersionHistory, flowLedgerDisabled, flowStatusDisabled, consumedSuspensions. Each is assigned only at its declaration or in the constructor; the only write in the package is this.logger = logger; in the constructor. The report shows the grep, run in the package and across the repo.
        • Each async method's stub (10 of them) drops async and returns the moved function's promise, as in slices 3 to 6.
        • Parameter defaults. canonicalizeStoredFlow and canonicalizeFlow take options: { includeRetired?: boolean } = {}. The class stub keeps that default exactly as written, and the moved text keeps it too, token-identical. The moved function's default is now dead (the stub always passes options); that is disclosed, not edited.
      • Module-level declarations: seven helpers gain export, in place, because moved bodies read them. Nothing else about them changes, and index.ts adds no re-export (the package's export map is . only):
        • export const CONVERSIONS_NOT_REPLAYED_AT_REHYDRATION: readonly string[] = [
        • export const MAX_RESTORE_CHAIN_HOPS = 32;
        • export function chainEntryOf(runId: string, result: SuspensionRestoreResult): ChainRestoreEntry {
        • export function flowRegistrationTodo(flowName: string, site: RegistrationCheckSite): ConversionTodoNotice {
        • export function graftConditionEnvelopes(converted: unknown, parsed: unknown): unknown {
        • export function negotiatedServiceLocale(service: RefusalI18nService, requested: string): string {
        • export function nestedChildRunId(correlation: string | undefined): string | undefined {
          None of their docblocks claims the name is private. Two other files place CONVERSIONS_NOT_REPLAYED_AT_REHYDRATION "in service-automation/src/engine.ts" (metadata-core's artifact-forward-conversion.ts and metadata-protocol's protocol.ts), and it stays there. flowRegistrationTodo's signature names other files' types (the cut-6 trap). On the trial its effect is union-member reorders only (see .d.ts below). The report shows the ESM and CJS export lists at base and head.
      • Import edits in engine.ts. The ./flow-credential-projection.js import moves to flow-definitions.ts. The [#15788] comment and the ./builtin/template.js import move to node-text-rendering.ts. @objectstack/spec/automation, @objectstack/spec and @objectstack/spec/system are narrowed to the names engine.ts still reads. engine.ts gains the five module imports, each with a comment naming its bodies.
          On the trial, the raw index.d.ts differs from slice 6's on 87 lines (174 raw-diff lines, both sides), and the normalised sha256 is identical (0df32585…). Each of the 87 pairs is the same line with one string-literal union's members in another order, in five distinct swaps; the report lists every pair and the positive controls. Any line that is not a swap stops this thread with needs_decision.
    • Every gate, baseline, ADR anchor, docs anchor and test that reads the moved lines by path moves in the same PR and stays green.
    • skip-changeset, per ruling 6348891160; no patch changeset. ⛔ No scripts/ or CI addition.
    • ⛔ Not touched: every other member of the class, packages/spec, docs/, and any behaviour.
      Container & model: L series (one slice per PR, strictly serial in this thread), card thread (in-session executor), model: default tier, effort: xhigh. This slice goes back to the services seat 1 for ACCEPT before the next one starts.
      Clause-②: no
      Metadata-protocol: none
      Responsibility: n/a — not a defect card
      Thread-read: none
      Serial constraints cleared:
    • Re-read on origin/main ea6fe000: I diffed each of the 8 open PRs' heads against their merge base with origin/main. None touches service-automation/src, the readers named above, their ledgers, or docs/adr/0019-approval-as-flow-node.md.
    • No in-flight claim names engine.ts or any of the five new modules. The open PRs are re-listed again before pr_create.
      Resume-from: none

    Claim amendment (claim 6378948491, slice 7) · 2026-10-24T03:01Z
    Ruling-ref: 6348891160
    Session: session_01Mnj4nkWuhJ18xEdZvb2cjE

    The slice narrows by one body: pullConnectorSource stays in the class. 42 bodies move, not 43. flow-definitions.ts takes 12 bodies, and the other four modules are unchanged.

    • Why. connector-pull.ts already has a top-level pullConnectorSource, and index.ts re-exports it as part of the package's public API. Moving the method's body would put a second top-level function of that name in the bundle. I built that on the claimed list, and tsup's bundler then renamed the public one: the ESM and CJS bundles export pullConnectorSource2 as pullConnectorSource, so the public function's .name changed from pullConnectorSource to pullConnectorSource2. That is an observable change to a public export, so the body stays.
    • The other 42 moved names collide with no public export. On the narrowed build, every exported function's .name matches base in both bundles (the only mismatch at both ends is AutomationEngine, named _AutomationEngine by the bundler at base too).
    • What changes in the claim.
      • flow-definitions.ts has 12 bodies; pullConnectorSource joins the stays (now 5 in this slice).
      • Six fields go through a getter, not seven: connectorPullSource was read only by pullConnectorSource, so it leaves the host.
      • Nine async stubs drop async, not ten. flow-definitions.ts now holds no async body, so its docblock no longer says so.
      • The size is 2,406 changed lines (engine.ts +365 / -771, the five modules +1,268, the test 1 / 1). check-governed-merges --branch on the commit says NOT governed, under 3,000.
      • Nothing else changes: the four get/set flags, the fifteen by-value fields, the seven helpers exported in place, the parameter defaults, the import edits and the .d.ts reading are as claimed. The .d.ts raw diff is still 87 lines per side, all union-member swaps, with the normalised sha256 identical (0df32585…).
    • On the narrowed head, the hand readers match base as before: census, system-context census, check:liveness, check-platform-checklist and check-adr-symbol-anchors are byte-identical; check:adr-anchors differs only in its scanned-file count; check:startup-registry-verdict still finds 46 seams.

Claim 6378948491 on main ea6fe000 after slice 6 (#25567) merged; amendment 6379054858 narrows it by one body. The bodies of 42 AutomationEngine methods move unedited into five new modules: dispatch-claims.ts (DispatchClaimsHost, 7 bodies), flow-definitions.ts (FlowDefinitionsHost, 12), subflow-guards.ts (SubflowGuardsHost, 11), consumed-suspension-restore.ts (ConsumedSuspensionRestoreHost, 6) and node-text-rendering.ts (NodeTextRenderingHost, 6). Five bodies stay: claimAdvance (AdvanceClaim, documented 'Module-private'), validateNodeInputSchemas (InputSchemaViolationError, 'Not exported on purpose'), refuseInvalidScreenInput and buildSubflowResumeSignal (ENGINE_BUILT_SIGNAL, ADR-0019 'a module-private symbol'), and pullConnectorSource: moving it put a second top-level pullConnectorSource next to connector-pull.ts's public export, and the bundler then exported pullConnectorSource2 as pullConnectorSource in both bundles, changing the public function's name; it was caught on the first build and the slice narrowed before push. Six fields go through getters (flowDispatchStore, functionResolver, flowCredentialSource, store, nodeTypeVocabularySealed, i18nServiceSource); the four warned-once flags a moved body sets (dispatchClaimDegradationWarned in claim, dispatchOutcomeDegradationWarned in readDispatch, advanceClaimDegradationWarned in warnAdvanceClaimDegraded, nodeTypeSealOmissionWarned in warnIfNodeTypeVocabularyNeverSealed) go through get/set pairs (#25508), each declared false, written only in that body, named by no other file; fifteen fields go by value (the grep finds only the constructor's this.logger = logger). Two corrections to the PR body, which is written once at pr_create: (1) it calls ea6fe000 the head of main; ea6fe000 is the merge base and every reading was taken there, but main had moved to e0734559 by pr_create (#25545, #25552, #25585 to #25587, #25590; of these only #25545 touches a reader, scripts/check-system-context-census.mjs, in its plugin-security rows); (2) it says the export lists are listed in the .d.ts section; they are in the Bundles section. The base worktree carries the git-ignored packages/spec/src/migrations/registry.ts copied from the head worktree, so both ends scan the same generated file.",

      "carrier: this card, later slices · noted, not filed: the 33-site needs_decision (sent to the coordinator for Sales) still decides the 21 site-bearing bodies and the startup-registry bodies tied to registerFlow; after this slice every AutomationEngine body over 3 lines that has not moved is either site-bearing (17 of the 21 bodies that ruling decides; the other 4 are 3 lines or fewer) or one of the 14 stays, so the next slice waits on the ruling.",
      "carrier: none · noted, not filed: the Docs Drift Check comment lists 14 hand-written pages and 7 release-owned pages reached through the DELETE_RESTRICTED and RESOURCE_CONFLICT literals, the /runs/:runId/cancel route literal and the getFlowRuntimeStates / getTriggerBindingAudit / restoreConsumedSuspension symbols. The move changes no behaviour, signature or literal text, so no page becomes false."
