Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

Currently, JPEG XL (.jxl) files cannot be displayed on the web or in the iOS app.

Describe the solution you'd like

Support for JXL files would be great, especially if the browser already supports displaying them anyway, why would it not display them but download them?

    After reading https://tonisagrista.com/blog/2025/google-unkills-jpegxl/, I was wondering the same. Currently, my browser (Firefox or Chromium on Ubuntu) just downloads the file.

    Chrome 155 now ships JPEG-XL / JXL support. Firefox will likely support it starting with version 158. Safari already did it.

    Created server pr.
    Until it's a bit more handled, we'll wait before merging a viewer fix. Especially since our playwright continuous integration tests uses chromium 153, and jxl support is 155. We'll wait for a new playwright release
