App Store ExApp 'Deploy and enable' fails with one deploy daemon (Nextcloud 35.0.2) #66119

Open

Description

@SynthStream

Summary

With a single configured AppAPI deploy daemon, clicking Deploy and enable for an ExApp briefly flashes the gear icon but does not deploy/register the app. The Apps UI then repeatedly polls the ExApp status endpoint and displays 404 errors.

Environment

  • Nextcloud Server 35.0.2.2 (LinuxServer.io Docker image on Unraid)
  • AppAPI 35.0.0; one default deployment daemon: HaRP Proxy (Docker) (harp_proxy_docker)
  • Reproduced in Firefox
  • Example ExApp: stt_whisper2; also affected translate2 installation through GUI
  • Existing ExApps, including Context Agent and Local Machine Translation, work once installed via CLI

Steps to reproduce

  1. Configure one working AppAPI Docker deploy daemon.
  2. Navigate to Apps and select an ExApp not yet installed.
  3. Click Deploy and enable.
  4. Observe gear icon briefly flash; no successful installation; repeated GET /apps/app_api/apps/status/stt_whisper2 with 404 and browser console Uncaught (in promise) AxiosError: Request failed with status code 404 from exAppApi.ts:26 / exApps.ts polling.

Expected

The GUI invokes the deployment endpoint with the configured daemon, awaits/handles the deployment result and displays an appropriate success/error state.

Actual

No installation occurs, UI repeatedly polls status for the unregistered ExApp. Server log repeatedly reports ExApp "stt_whisper2" not found.

Workaround confirming backend works

Command-line registration succeeds:

docker exec -u abc nextcloud php /app/www/public/occ app_api:app:register translate2 --wait-finish

Result: ExApp translate2 deployed successfully. ExApp translate2 successfully registered.

Suspected frontend cause (please verify)

In the single-daemon branch of the Nextcloud Apps frontend's exApps.ts, code appears to use dockerDaemons[0] instead of dockerDaemons.value[0] and invokes exAppApi.enableExApp(...) without awaiting/handling rejection:

if (dockerDaemons.value.length === 1 && app.needsDownload) {
    exAppApi.enableExApp(app, dockerDaemons[0])
    app.daemon = dockerDaemons[0]
}

If dockerDaemons is a Vue ref, the indexing is incorrect and could prevent deployment; the omitted await may leave a rejected promise unhandled. Suggested investigation: use dockerDaemons.value[0] and await/handle enableExApp.
