Bug description
While this bug has been fixed for internal links in issue #50155 , it is still present for external links.
Usecase: Share a video file without autoplaying it, as this may not work because of low bandwidth, but users should be able to download the file.
Tested with:
- Nextcloud 35.0.2
- Debian 13.7, apache 2.4.69, php 8.4
- Link to a m4v video file
Steps to reproduce
Internal link (click while logged in) - works as expected
Open https://my.cloud.tld/index.php/f/1234567
- Redirect to https://my.cloud.tld/index.php/apps/files/files/1234567?dir=/my/dir&editing=false&openfile=true
- Video is played
Open https://my.cloud.tld/index.php/f/1234567?openfile=false
- Redirect to https://my.cloud.tld/index.php/apps/files/files/1234567?dir=/my/dir&openfile=false
- Directory content is shown, file is marked
External link (click while not logged in) - not as expected
Open https://my.cloud.tld/index.php/s/AbCdE1234567890
- Redirect to https://my.cloud.tld/index.php/s/AbCdE1234567890?dir=/&editing=false&openfile=true
- Video is played (as expected)
Open https://my.cloud.tld/index.php/s/AbCdE1234567890?openfile=false
- Redirect to https://my.cloud.tld/index.php/s/AbCdE1234567890?dir=/&editing=false&openfile=true
- Video is played (not as expected)
Expected behavior
openfile remains false, Filename is shown (as when you close the video player by clicking on the "X")

Hello @helge17,
Thanks for informing us about the issue you faced! I was able to reproduce it as well. The fix should be quite straightforward and should be around respecting the existing value for
openfileinapps/files_sharing/src/public/init.ts. I'll mark the issue as "Good first issue", which means it's a good fit if someone from the community would like to fix it, but they are new in the Nextcloud code base. Since the fix is rather simple, it is likely that a PR for this will likely come sooner that later.
