Editor crashes after load in Windows and opens a command prompt when launched #239
The reported crash occurs when opening a PBR project, without a crash log. Main now includes the Windows runtime DLL packaging fix (#240), GUI-subsystem launch fix (#241), and Vulkan PBR depth-mipmap startup fix (#249). The latest packaged Linux Vulkan runtime remains running with SSR enabled, without the previous mipmap-generation exception.
Native Windows runtime verification is still pending, so this issue remains open. PR #255 also addresses scene resource destruction during editor startup.
The Windows source and packaging fixes are merged into main and included in Beta 2 RC2, built at 5d7a26aa599cb6dab3d387ccef77e49846cb4d55. This includes bundled DLLs, GUI launch, Vulkan depth-mipmap handling, GPU resource lifetime fixes, shader cache rebuilding after runtime reload (#260), and renderer resource recreation (#261).
All four official platform packages, native build, CLI, and formatting checks passed for this exact commit. The Linux package also passed actual X11/Wayland PBR startup, resize, and runtime reload checks.
Keeping this issue open: the reporter cannot test Windows currently, and a native Windows PBR-project smoke result is still unavailable. The source fixes are included, but the original Windows crash is not yet confirmed resolved on the affected system.
