Cayetano Soriano Gallego

Fractional CTO & Software Architect — I build engineering teams and platforms that scale without breaking.

15+ years in tech, 8+ on AWS. Two monolith-to-microservices transformations (Clojure → 20+ services on ECS; PHP → polyglot Java/Scala/Python). 7+ years as CTO at two companies. Today: fractional CTO for early-stage teams and AI agents / RAG / LLM orchestration shipped to production.

What I've actually done

  • Ride On Consulting (CTO, 2019–2023) — eSharing mobility platform. Event-driven architecture on Kinesis, container orchestration on ECS with ~30% lower AWS spend and 99.99% uptime. OKRs, technical due diligence with investors, vendor contracts (M2M and cybersecurity with Telefónica), city councils in Miami, Dundee, Leicester and Pamplona. End-to-end observability with OpenTracing/OpenTelemetry, Datadog, New Relic, CloudWatch, Kibana, Sentry, PagerDuty.
  • Ride On (Software Architect, 2018–2019) — decomposed a legacy Clojure monolith into 20+ containerized microservices on AWS ECS, 100% of the infrastructure in Terraform, CI/CD with Jenkins, images with Ansible + Packer.
  • ShareTech (CTO, 2023–2026) — technology vision and roadmap, microservices governance, cost optimization, ops/logistics tooling (metrics, SLAs, reporting dashboards), LLM-assisted engineering workflows.
  • enolovers.app (fractional, 2026) — app load time ~10 s → under 1 s (resource loading, lazy vs eager data, DB indexes, Redis caching, rate limiting); CI/CD with AI agents, dependency automation, test harness, Terraform, Sentry and per-call metrics.
  • Packlink (Backend Engineer, 2015–2017) — zero-downtime migration from a PHP monolith to polyglot microservices (Java, Scala, Python) on RabbitMQ / Cassandra / Redis.

Stack

AWS Amazon ECS Terraform Docker Kinesis SNS/SQS RabbitMQ DynamoDB Elasticsearch Redis Cassandra MongoDB MySQL Go (Golang) Java / Spring Boot Python Scala PHP Clojure (migrated away from it) OpenTelemetry Datadog New Relic CloudWatch Kibana Sentry PagerDuty LLM orchestration AI agents RAG MCP Claude / OpenAI APIs

How I work

Own the whole stack — from the Terraform module to the on-call rotation to the roadmap conversation with the board. Make fragile things boring and reliable first; then let the team move fast on top of them.

Community

Co-founded the Betabeers chapters in Cádiz and Barcelona (2012–2015): monthly meetups for 50–100+ developers and founders.
