[code-infra] Remove deprecated @types/uuid stub from @mui/internal-scripts #49508
Description
Summary
packages-internal/scripts/package.json still lists @types/uuid@11.0.0 as a devDependency. That version is deprecated by its publisher:
This is a stub types definition. uuid provides its own type definitions, so you do not need this installed.
The package no longer imports uuid: typescript-to-proptypes/src/injectPropTypesInFile.ts uses randomUUID from node:crypto. Nothing else in the workspace depends on uuid, so the stub and the uuid@14.0.1 it pulls in are unused. The Dependency Dashboard (#48698) lists it under "Deprecations / Replacements" with no replacement PR available, so Renovate won't remove it.
Proposed change, 18 lines deleted, 2 files:
packages-internal/scripts/package.json: drop the"@types/uuid": "11.0.0"line.pnpm-lock.yaml: the matching entries for@types/uuid@11.0.0anduuid@14.0.1, regenerated withpnpm install --lockfile-only(pnpm 12.11.2).pnpm dedupe --checkis clean.
Verification
Run in a node:22-bookworm container (Node 22.23.3, pnpm 12.11.2 via corepack). Baseline on master first, then with the change:
pnpm install --frozen-lockfilepnpm -F @mui/internal-scripts typescript: passes before and afterpnpm -F @mui/internal-scripts build: passes before and afterpnpm -F @mui/internal-scripts test: 69/69 before and afterpnpm exec eslint packages-internal/scripts: passes with the change
The branch is ready at https://github.com/jasontd92/mui-material-ui/tree/unstale/remove-types-uuid. I can open the PR ([code-infra] Remove deprecated @types/uuid stub) if this is welcome.
Found with unstale, a tool I'm building so nobody has to read every changelog to catch changes like this one. Prepared with AI assistance (Claude Code) and verified as described above.
