I'm a noob. Thanks for playing with this project.

First off, thanks for poking at this project. It sat around since I was happy with how it was working and with others taking interest (gives me the warm fuzzies) I'm happy to keep it moving forward.

So, as a heads up, I am noob programmer (can't do list-comprehension or use ternary operators correctly) and a noob at GitHub. Which means I'll probably screw things up as a I learn, with a little help I know we can keep that down to a minimum.

Thanks for being here. With your help and interest I'm sure we'll have fun working on this.

Happy coding!

Is it possible, that you update your version with the current github version?
There are so many Problems at the moment, so it is very difficult to finish it.

Python Version comparrison, Outputfolder, Something that went wrong when collecting all informations for pushing in mqtt...

[mrmay-dev]

Was just checking for that. They are the same, I wanted to make sure I don't upload my passwords, keys, etc. :)

Quickly looking over the items you mention:

Python Version comparrison,

The settings are in a TOML file. TOML is kind of new to Python so Owntags_plugin.py checks to make sure you have version 3.7 or above and decides what to do.

• Python >=3.7 loads TOML with import tomli as toml
• Python >= 3.11 loads TOML with import tomllib as toml

So, make sure you have Python 3.7 or higher.

Outputfolder

This is a bug from switching to the TOML file and deciding to hard-code the location of the .keys file. Line 18 in request-reports.py should be OUTPUT_FOLDER = "keys/"

Something that went wrong when collecting all informations for pushing in mqtt...

Please send me more details on this. MQTT can be tricky, especially if you are using TLS. I'll be glad to help with this. It's really important to make sure you have OwnTracks running first.

Thanks for the feedback! When I saw someone was following up with this project it was really exciting.

Cheers!
