| [#5309](https://github.com/moq-dev/moq/pull/5309) bounded FLV and MKV this way | ||

Gate this quest on the full-check change
In the reviewed base, #5309 has not landed and rs/moq-mux/src/jitter.rs has no Buffer::full, yet this plan treats that API as available while the Required section gates only on the passthrough quest. If this quest is started first, its prescribed implementation either cannot reuse the check or duplicates #5309 and creates the conflict this sequencing is meant to avoid; explicitly wait for #5309 or make the plan self-contained.

Resolved by sequencing rather than a Required link: #5309 has now merged, so jitter::Buffer::full is on main. A link to its quest would have dangled, because #5309 deleted that quest file when it landed. #5349 and #5305 have landed too, so the quest no longer has a Required section, and the Plan says so.

Preserve passthrough arrivals before bounding reads
When --passthrough has one due object and additional objects already waiting in the source, adding the proposed full check makes Release::poll_next stop before observing the source empty; after a slow stdout write, the next poll assigns those already-arrived objects Instant::now() in release.rs, so jitter.push can newly classify and drop them as late. That contradicts the stated guarantee that late drops remain unchanged, so the plan should require passthrough arrival bookkeeping like the FLV/MKV empty timestamp and cover this slow-sink case in the mock-time regression.

Agreed; fixed in 1e00279. The plan now requires every bounded read, passthrough included, to judge a frame's deadline on when its source was last empty, as FLV and MKV do with empty, rather than on when it was read. The regression test must cover the slow-sink case on each path.

--passthroughuses the same TSReleasepath that drains ready frames before polling the jitter buffer. Existing passthrough-backed tests exercise this path, but they do not assert the due-frame read bound. Require a passthrough regression test for this behavior.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

Reviewed 1e00279. No new actionable findings in this documentation-only plan. Reusing the shared due-frame check is a reasonable direction within the stated acquisition exception.
The prerequisite concern is addressed now that #5309 has landed. The latest text also addresses passthrough arrival timing, requiring last-empty bookkeeping and slow-sink regressions. Acquisition read-ahead is explicitly retained; zero-delay progress and pre-table/tune-in handling remain implementation checks.

Problem
#5309 stopped the FLV and MKV exports from draining every ready frame into the jitter buffer before releasing any. That drain held a whole backlog (a stalled sink, a large retained group) in memory.
moq export tsstill reads the same way, as it did before #5309. TS was left out of #5309 because TS export work was in flight.Approach
Add
quest/m1/ts-export-backlog.md, listed after TS passthrough export in the m1 act. TS export would read a track only until it has a frame due, reusing the jitter buffer'sfullcheck from #5309.--passthrough). It also records why read-ahead is not capped by wall time, and that a joiner still reads its retained group to the live edge.Impact
