The END_OF_GROUP header bit only lets a FIN imply the group's end; it does not forbid an explicit End of Group (0x3) status object. imquic sends both, and moq-net refused the stream as Unsupported, aborting the group and losing its last object. Accept the status either way in Rust and JS, as END_OF_TRACK already is. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Reviewed commit: 34864c5
No actionable bugs found. Accepting explicit End of Group status independently of the header bit is a narrow, consistent fix in both Rust and JS; removing the unused Rust flag avoids redundant state. The regressions check that all five payloads survive and the group finishes cleanly. Existing unmarked status-0 compatibility behavior stays unchanged and remains a separate follow-up.
Verification: GitHub-only source review of all six changed files and surrounding ingest/decode/completion paths. No local builds, tests, or independent peer interoperability runs performed; this does not claim tests passed.

Conflicts are release backports whose originals are already on main (#4812, #4658, #5086, #5081, #5019, #5025); resolved to main's side. doc/bin/rtmp.md keeps main's text, since #5033 dropped the #4735 internal-limits paragraph the backport carried. Ports requester_reset_cancels_subscriptions, which only the #4658 backport carried, into main's publisher test harness. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
…oq-dev#5081) Backport to release. The Rust regression test writes the draft-18 status object inline with release's encode form and runs under tokio::test, since release lacks the end_marker helper and moq_net_sim. Completes End of Group status (quest file deleted here).
Summary
imquic sends both the END_OF_GROUP header bit and an explicit End of Group (0x3) status object on d16, d18 and d21. moq-dev refused that status whenever the header bit was set (
Unsupportedin Rust,Unsupported object status: 3in JS), which aborted the group and lost its last object. d16 §10.4.2 only says the bit lets a subscriber infer the group's end at FIN; nothing forbids sending the status too.rs/moq-net:GroupIngestaccepts 0x3 regardless of the header bit and finishes the group there, as END_OF_TRACK already does. The now-unusedhas_endfield is gone.js/net:Frame.decodereturns the end-of-group frame for 0x3 regardless ofhasEnd. The status-0 quirk on unmarked streams is left for JS papercuts, whose "lands first" note is removed.Triaged from Fastly's follow-up on #5020.
Public API and wire impact
Public API: none. Wire: none (we accept a valid peer encoding we used to refuse; what we emit is unchanged).
Checks
just check: lint, JS, quest, drill, markdown, toml, shell, bench, andnix flake checkpass. The rs test step stopped on fourmoq-uringworker tests failing withENOMEMfrom RLIMIT_MEMLOCK (8 MiB, shared by every process of the user on this host), so I ran the affected crates' tests separately without moq-uring: all pass, apart from two wall-clock network tests (bursts_cross_a_flapping_peer::impaired,quic_winning_opens_one_session) that each failed once under load and pass on rerun.just test interop --all: all checks passed.🤖 Generated with Claude Code
