The debounce reads the broadcast clock, which sampled std::time::Instant and ignored a paused runtime. This crate's tests now sample Tokio's clock, and the test advances that window instead of sleeping. Co-authored-by: Grok 4.7 <noreply@x.ai>

Preserve the paused offset when converting instants
In a #[tokio::test(start_paused = true)] after virtual time has advanced, tokio::time::Instant::now() includes the runtime's offset, but from_std preserves the raw host instant. Consequently, Clock::at(std::time::Instant::now(), wall) immediately reads as though the elapsed virtual time had already passed, and capture(std::time::Instant::now()) maps a current capture behind Clock::now() or rejects it once the advance exceeds LEAD. Apply the current virtual offset during conversion, or isolate the virtual source to the SI debounce clock so the public clock's at/capture contract remains valid in the paused tests required here.

Tokio 1.53.1 official docs tokio::time::Instant from_std pause advance virtual time semantics
💡 Result:
For **Tokio 1.53.1**, the docs establish:
- `tokio::time::Instant::from_std(std_instant)` wraps the supplied `std::time::Instant`; it does **not** read or adjust it to Tokio’s virtual clock. Tokio `Instant` wraps a standard instant, while `Instant::now()` uses Tokio’s clock-aware implementation. ([docs.rs](https://docs.rs/tokio/latest/%20tokio/time/struct.Instant.html?utm_source=openai))
- `time::pause()` freezes subsequent **Tokio** `Instant::now()` calls at the saved time; `std::time::Instant` continues normally. Pausing requires a current-thread runtime and the `test-util` feature. ([docs.rs](https://docs.rs/tokio/latest/tokio/time/fn.pause.html?utm_source=openai))
- `time::advance(d)` jumps the saved Tokio time forward by `d`. Timers whose deadlines are passed become eligible together; the call does not wait for them all to complete. It requires time to be paused and may panic if the duration overflows. ([docs.rs](https://docs.rs/tokio/latest/tokio/time/fn.advance.html?utm_source=openai))
- While paused, Tokio may also **auto-advance** to the next timer when the runtime has no work to do. ([docs.rs](https://docs.rs/tokio/latest/tokio/time/fn.pause.html?utm_source=openai))
**Implication:** converting a standard instant with `from_std` does not itself make it track virtual time. The docs establish the conversion and clock behavior separately; they do not specify that an arbitrary converted instant is rebased when `pause` or `advance` is called. For virtual-time deadlines, derive them from `tokio::time::Instant::now()` and use Tokio timer APIs.

site:docs.rs/tokio/1.53.1/tokio/time/struct.Instant.html "from_std" "paused" std::time::Instant
💡 Result:
Tokio 1.53.1 documents `Instant::from_std(std::time::Instant)` as converting a standard-library instant into a Tokio instant. The type wraps `std::time::Instant` and aligns with Tokio’s clock, which can be paused or advanced for testing. ([docs.rs](https://docs.rs/tokio/1.53.1/tokio/time/struct.Instant.html))
**Inference:** converting an instant with `from_std` does not itself make the standard clock pause; paused-time behavior applies to Tokio’s clock operations. The docs page doesn’t explicitly state how a converted instant behaves while time is paused.

Use Tokio instants for paused-time inputs.
Under #[cfg(test)], mono_from wraps its std::time::Instant input unchanged. If a paused test passes std::time::Instant::now() after advancing Tokio time, Clock::at can start with a nonzero PTS, and Clock::capture can return a stale PTS. Pass tokio::time::Instant::now().into_std() to both methods and cover both paths in a paused test.

Direction is sound for the debounce regression: test-mode Clock::now and the one-second advance now share Tokio time, and the production clock remains unchanged. The existing clock-domain finding at rs/moq-mux/src/clock.rs:43-50 remains relevant: from_std does not translate a fresh host instant into advanced virtual time. Resolve and test the intended at/capture input contract after a paused advance; the new paused_time_advances_now case only covers now. No additional independent finding or duplicate inline comment.
Verification: static review of the full diff, relevant source context, and current discussion. I did not run tests or independently verify CI; this is not a merge approval.
