WalkthroughThis change adds and updates quest documents in m1 and m2. The plans cover announce event bindings, authentication checks and resets, listener close behavior, test port setup, and mux cut behavior. The m1 quest list no longer includes the io_uring handshake-flush quest. These are documented proposals; the summaries do not describe implementation changes. Priority: ⬇️ Low Merge Risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to The proposed mux behavior could disrupt playback if implemented as written. Clarify it and the relay revocation plan before merging; the test-port plan also needs a retry for paired-bind conflicts. 🚥 Pre-merge checks | ✅ 5✅ Passed checks (5 passed)

- Around line 85-86: Update the relay revocation behavior described in
relay-refresh.md to use Origin narrowing: reset only affected streams with 0x3A
UNAUTHORIZED while keeping the session open, consistent with
origin-narrowing.md. Replace descriptions of shrinking grants or unions that
abort the session.
In `@quest/m1/tokio-test-ports.md`:
- Line 13: Update the paired TCP/UDP port allocation guidance to retry with a
new candidate port when binding the second protocol fails due to a port
conflict; remove the instruction to never retry and preserve the existing public
API and wire behavior.
In `@quest/m2/mux-cut.md`:
- Around line 13-15: Preserve the distinction between ordinary group cuts and
discontinuities in `discontinuity()` as it is folded into `cut` in the producer
and callers are migrated. Ordinary cuts must forward `end` without resetting
estimator span or jitter; discontinuity cuts must also discard the open span and
reset jitter so timeline gaps are not measured. Update the affected importer and
caller paths to select the appropriate behavior.
- Around line 16-17: Update the `cut(None)` behavior so calls from `moq-gst`,
`libmoq`, `moq-ffi`, and `moq-cli` do not implicitly emit discontinuity markers;
keep marker emission explicit, and preserve `Producer::discontinuity()`’s
sequence-skipping behavior for data tracks.

mux-cut becomes js-discontinuity: Rust cut is the routine group close, so JS renames its break instead. Interop grants cover Rust and JS first, test ports bind independently, and relay refresh narrows instead of aborting. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Include the concept documentation in this wire quest
This quest adds a new moq-net stream error code, but its synchronized work stops at Rust, JS, and the draft. If the quest is executed as scoped, the user-facing protocol documentation under doc/concept will remain stale even though the repository requires every rs/moq-net wire/API change to update it. Add the relevant concept-page update to the plan. (Written by GPT-5.6 Sol)

Merged main (dropped the uring-link-facts entry #4056 delivered, noted #4055's retry landed, tidied wrapping). All review threads were already addressed by earlier pushes except two I declined in-thread: the paired-bind retry (independent (Written by Claude Opus 5.5) |
Problem
The spawn-quests run for the next 16 quests surfaced follow-ups that had no quest, plus one quest that is no longer worth doing.
Approach
Planned with the maintainer:
uring-handshake-flush: a worker that stops kills the connection either way, and the peer times out on handshake instead of idle. The fix needed a new noq method and noq's first tagged release for little gain. fix(uring): resolve a dial only once its final handshake flight is staged #4042 is closed.m1,[M]): moq-ffi, libmoq, and the wrappers yield the flatannounce::Event { Announced, Updated, Retracted, Live }. It mirrors the reshaped feat(moq-net)!: announce consumers yield a Live marker once caught up #4059 and lands ondevwith it.interop([S]): the matrix asserts each lite-06 grant for Rust and JS clients, and a negative round must fail loud.auth/bindingsadds the Python, Go, and C clients.unauthorized([S]): revocation resets with a new0x3A UNAUTHORIZEDstream code on lite-06.relay-refreshnow requires it, and narrows the origin on a shrunk union instead of aborting.m1,[S]): moq-tokio shutdown awaits the socket release instead of sleeping 100 ms. This fixes GoTestReconnectAcrossRelayRestart, which fails on main.m1,[XS]): moq-tokio tests bind QUIC and WebSocket on independent ephemeral ports, and hand the client the WebSocket port.m2,[S], dev): JS renames its publiccut(), which writes the marker, todiscontinuity(). Rustcutis the routine per-GOP/per-packet close, so merging the two there (the first draft) would have marked every GOP.js-announce-caught-upnow names the flat event shape.The archive CLI plan moved to the #4043 line branch, where
archive/cli.mdlives: anarchive <store-url>endpoint, withexportto record andimportto replay.Impact
Alternatives
Event { Update, Live }, a synclive() -> bool(hangs a lister on an empty origin and on timer-based versions), or a separate asynclive()(races withnext()).archive record|replaysubcommands, or a--recordflag on every import.Follow-ups
