Summary

  • Correct the shipped CLI/YAML reference, examples, and runtime/cleanup limits.
  • Add practical guides for dependencies, incremental inputs, artifacts, CI matrices, logging, selection, and rebuilding.
  • Focus public guidance on supported toolchain tags, per-run resolution, and offline previews.

Validation

  • Checked relative Markdown links and parsed 77 YAML examples; git diff --check passes.
  • No application code changed. Executable CLI compilation was unavailable offline with the configured dependency source.

🟡 Changes recommended

Workflow instructions still permit unsafe overlapping builds and contain verified selection and dependency-scheduling inaccuracies.

builds its producer first. Use `dependsOn: [base-os]` only when you need build ordering **without**
consuming its bytes; order-only edges do not change the consumer's fingerprint.
if a remaining stamp says the cell is current.

A real `build` acquires an advisory lock at `<output-dir>/.tailor/build.lock`. A second build
targeting that output directory fails promptly; use a distinct `--output-dir` for parallel runs.
```
JSON cells contain `image`, `slug`, `axes`, `format`, and (for a catalogue-backed cell)
`baseImage`. A slug can be fed to `tailor build <slug>` or `tailor build --cell <slug>`.
`tailor build` and `tailor matrix` omit it, but `tailor build experimental --dry-run` selects
it explicitly. `tailor list` marks the image `(skip)`.
To skip just one matrix value, set `skip` in its fragment:
