Style issues I've observed in Copilot's prose in this repo include:
- Overly complex sentences with too many clauses.
- Using em dashes to emphasize content.
- Using too many parentheses in a sentence to over-complicate its structure.
It's also often identifiably written by an AI to those who read a lot of such text, as our audience is likely to. As well as avoiding the above, I would suggest discouraging some of the tropes identified by tropes.fyi to remove this barrier to clear text.
The purpose is not really to fool the audience into believing that all text was written by a human, but to improve clarity and directness.
