feat(api-docs): render WebSocket endpoints and browser routes - #217
WebSocket endpoints and browser routes have no operation shape, so Logitland's sockets, OAuth consent actions, and sign-in routes render as plain guides: no badge, no monospace path, no parameter or response sections, and no examples column.
WebSockets.operation.protocol: websocket takes the REST endpoint fields for the upgrade (path, server, auth, parameters, responses), plus messages (direction: send | receive, name, description, schema, example) and close codes. The page shows a WS badge and the path, parameters, a Handshake section (101 and refusals), messages by direction, and close codes. The examples column connects in websocat, JavaScript, and Python, sends the first send example, and prints what arrives. JavaScript uses Node's built-in WebSocket with headers when the socket needs a credential header, since browsers can't send one.
Browser routes.client: browser on a REST operation keeps the method and path styling, and shows the request as an HTML form (POST with a form body or none) and raw HTTP with cookie parameters as Cookie. It shows no cURL, fetch, or requests code, and no invented JSON.
Responses take headers. They list under the response, and the example shows an HTTP status line and headers, so a 303 shows its Location. A path with a query (/oauth/authorize?/allow) now joins query parameters with & instead of a second ?.
Pages without operation stay guides, so layout loads keep their honest labels; nothing infers a method from a title. RestPage is now HttpPage, shared by both renderers.
Checks: api-docs tests pass (57). The generated WebSocket connections run against a real ws server in Node and Python, and authenticate, send, and parse the reply. svelte-check is clean. The showcase-api vault gains a WebSocket page and a form action page; both render with no overflow or errors at 1440 and 390 px.
`operation.protocol: websocket` renders a WS badge, the upgrade's
parameters and handshake responses, messages by direction, and close
codes, with websocat, JavaScript, and Python connection examples.
`client: browser` shows a REST operation's request as an HTML form and
raw HTTP. Responses take `headers`, shown as an HTTP status line in the
examples, and a path with a query joins parameters with `&`.

Walkthrough
The API documentation theme now parses and renders WebSocket operations and browser-client REST operations. It generates connection, message, form, and HTTP examples, displays response headers, and documents the new operation shapes and sample endpoints.

Operation model and examples themes/api-docs/src/lib/api.ts, themes/api-docs/src/lib/api.test.ts, themes/api-docs/src/lib/snippets.test.ts, themes/api-docs/package.json
The operation model now supports shared REST and WebSocket endpoint data, response headers, browser and socket snippets, and response tabs. Tests cover browser requests, WebSocket snippets, and response handling.
REST and WebSocket operations use shared page rendering. The WebSocket renderer is registered and exported. Reference-theme documentation lists WebSocket pages and their selection metadata.
Operation documentation and examples .changeset/websocket-browser-routes.md, DIRECTION.md, themes/api-docs/README.md, vaults/showcase-api/adoptions/adoption-events.md, vaults/showcase-api/web/approve-adoption.md
The documentation and showcase pages describe browser form actions, WebSocket operations, response metadata, and the updated release status.
The documentation feature is mergeable with bounded test-environment risk: its WebSocket integration tests may fail on supported Node 20 or with an older Python websockets installation.

Explanation
Issue #216 requires WebSocket and browser reference operations, response headers, and guide preservation. The PR adds WebSocket models, rendering, badges, handshake responses, message schemas and examples, close codes, and websocat, JavaScript, and Python snippets. It adds browser HTML-form and raw-HTTP snippets, cookie handling, response headers, and query joining. Pages without an operation remain guides. Tests cover browser requests, response tabs, query paths, WebSocket parsing, authentication, messages, and close codes.

Important
Two WebSocket example-generation bugs should be fixed before merging: multiline text frames produce invalid JavaScript, and cookie-authenticated connections omit their declared credentials.
Reviewed changes across the operation parser, shared endpoint renderer, generated examples, renderer registration, documentation, and showcase content.
WebSocket operations: Adds handshake parameters and responses, message schemas, close codes, protocol badges, and connection examples in three languages.
Browser routes: Adds HTML form and raw HTTP examples, including cookie parameters and existing-query handling.
Response headers: Displays authored headers in reference pages and HTTP response examples.
Coverage and documentation: Adds live WebSocket integration tests, documents the new frontmatter, and provides showcase pages.
Validation: API-docs tests passed with 56 passed and 4 skipped; svelte-check reported 0 errors and 0 warnings. Two temporary reproduction probes confirmed the findings below and were removed. Python WebSocket execution was skipped because websockets is unavailable in this environment; browser layout was not independently tested.
The failed CI job stopped in pnpm test at packages/cli/tests/build.e2e.test.ts:350: TimeoutError: locator.waitFor: Timeout 30000ms exceeded., waiting for getByRole('combobox', { name: 'Search notes' }) after clicking Search. This protected-vault fixture uses the unchanged minimal theme, not the API-docs theme modified by this PR; API-docs tests passed with 56 passed and 4 skipped. Per the CI-fix workflow, I stopped rather than add an unrelated fix: no changes were committed or pushed, the working tree is clean, and the timeout still needs separate investigation (no local reproduction performed).
Cookie parameters now send as a Cookie header in every generated
request, WebSocket connections included. The raw HTTP example uses CRLF
and a Content-Length, so it sends as copied. JavaScript string literals
escape line breaks, so a multiline text frame stays valid code.

Reviewed changes since the prior review, focusing on the latest snippet fixes and their regression coverage.
Propagated cookie credentials: Combined cookie parameters into the shared request headers so WebSocket examples authenticate, including the header-capable Node JavaScript variant.
Escaped multiline frames: Preserved carriage returns and newlines in generated JavaScript string literals, with a live cookie-authenticated multiline-frame regression test.
Framed raw HTTP requests: Added CRLF framing, header termination, and UTF-8 byte-counted Content-Length, with a TCP integration test confirming cookie and form-body delivery.
Updated documentation: Documented cookie propagation and copyable HTTP framing, and recorded the released 2.0 composition and planned 2.1 scope.
Validation: pnpm --filter @svartz/theme-api-docs test passed with 58 passed, 5 skipped; pnpm --filter @svartz/theme-api-docs check reported 0 errors and 0 warnings. Python WebSocket execution remains unverified because websockets is unavailable in this environment; browser layout was not independently retested.

Reviewed changes since the previous Pullfrog review at fa9e4f8, covering the runtime capability guards in snippets.test.ts.
Guarded JavaScript execution: Skipped live socket tests when the runtime lacks native WebSocket, retaining the existing assertions when it is available.
Tightened Python detection: Checked websockets.asyncio.client, matching the generated snippet's import rather than accepting an incompatible top-level installation.
Validation: API-docs tests passed with 58 passed, 5 skipped on Node v24.22.1; svelte-check reported 0 errors and 0 warnings. Both JavaScript socket cases executed successfully, and a separate run with native WebSocket disabled confirmed clean skipping. Python socket execution remains unverified because websockets is not installed.
`DIRECTION.md` still says 2.1.0 is in review as PR #217. It's now
published, so the current state says so.
