… and more Major version upgrades: - TypeScript 4.6 → 5.9 (migrated ts.createXxx to ts.factory.createXxx across 14 transform files) - Jest 27 → 29 (with ts-jest 29, @types/jest 29, jest-watch-typeahead 2) - commander 6 → 12 (updated import to named export, removed @types/commander) - ts-node 8 → 10 - selenium-webdriver 4.1 → 4.41 (replaced deprecated .headless() API) Minor/patch updates: terser, uglify-js, tslib, node-gyp Config changes: - tsconfig.json: added skipLibCheck for third-party type compat - jest.config.js: replaced deprecated testURL with testEnvironmentOptions.url Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.6 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
- variantShapes.ts: fix createParameterDeclaration arg order (TS5 added dotDotDotToken parameter) - removeUnusedLocals.ts: fix visitor return type (TS5 stricter VisitResult<Node> vs VisitResult<Node | undefined>) - Enable buildArityMismatchTestExpr in generator (the arity fix is present on this branch) Verified: 1000/1000 property tests pass with seed 18976 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.6 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
- removeUnusedLocals: widen visitor return type to VisitResult<Node | undefined> since the visitor returns undefined to delete nodes - variantShapes: use non-deprecated 3-arg createParameterDeclaration overload (decorators/modifiers were combined in TS 4.8) Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.6 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
- removeUnusedLocals: Re-parse the AST after each visitor pass before feeding it back to the type checker. TS5's checker crashes on transformed ASTs with removed nodes (broken internal references). Print-and-reparse produces a clean AST that the checker handles safely. - harness: Fix listLiterals config value from 'asCons' to 'list_as_cons' to match the actual InlineLists.AsCons enum value. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.6 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

Hey @mdgriffith 👋
This PR upgrades dependencies and uses some of the new TypeScript APIs to reduce the deprecation error noise.
This is a branch off of #121, so probably worth merging that one in first to get rid of some of the noise in the diff view here. But worth noting that those tests are running green here, so that gives an extra confidence boost.
I also built this NPM package locally and used it with
elm-pagesto build a script and an elm-pages site and they both ran successfully without any errors.Let me know if there's anything I can do to help push this along or make any edits! Would be great if we could get this as a baseline and reduce the deprecation error noise.
